yes! amazing - spent an hour or two noodling on the sofa...bonus weirdness: if you use this method and slowly play three notes in poly mode, there's a lil' gap in some of the notes after 16 steps...but if you then turn up the portamento, two of the notes will slide to the other's pitch at those points - very nice!
Very nice tutorial!
Very cool, thank you for sharing this. Love seeing people get the most out of these synths
WoW, I have had my Volca Keys and a few others since they first came out which was 10 years ago but it's only since two days ago that I really learned how to start using it properly 😰 and then I see your video and I tried it too and BINGO !! 🤩 what a result, the drone is great, I love this Volca keys now, it helps of course that I'm also running an effects pedal through it which is a Zoom MS-70CDR which I highly recommend as its got 137 different effects and which can be layered to play several sounds at the same time.....cool !! 😎and now with decect speakers too instead of headphones, what a difference 🥰 Now I have just subscribed to your channel and given you a thumbs up too 👍
Thank you
Glen 😃
Hi Glen, I'm really happy for your newfound inspiration! Thank you for your support! Cheers
Thank u.. that was wicked..
An other easy trick to keep it droning is to simple place a small coin on one key. You can change the tuning of the drone by sliding the coin but you can't add notes in an other register... advantges and disadvantages.
Nice and easy! I also tried that, but I forgot about it. Thanks for sharing.
Nice! Thanks for sharing!
cool feature, thank you!
incredible video-work,)
Bravo!! 🤩🤩🤩👏👏👏👏👏👏
MASSIVE
V cool
Great technique. Is the Volca keys analogue?
@@ElectroMagnetic_AmbientMusic the delay is digital, it is done with MCU and the output is 20khz pwm signal, this is why you will see a 20khz peak at the spectrum
@@SkinnyVampiress Thank you for the detailed info! I always noticed that 20khz peak indeed. Now I understand why. Btw I've been a subscriber of your channel since long. I hope you are doing ok.
@@ElectroMagnetic_AmbientMusic interesting! I am more or less ok.. By the way, I modified my volca keys, added the signal out before the delay. It is cleaner, no 20khz peak there :) It is also possible to add a better filter to the MCU output, but the components are so small - not really DIY friendly... p.s. if you want to try an interesting trick - connect the audio output to the sync in :) It will trigger at random, creating some chaotic patterns... But it won't work with direct connection, you need to amplify the signal a little to get it closer to the 5v trigger input. Guitar pedal or something like that should be enough to amplify the signal....

WTF?
@@ElectroMagnetic_AmbientMusic No no no no... omg no my Friend. I just thought I know a lot about this thing ... but no, I didnt. You totally surprised me ....
It is my pleasure to help. I've been following your channel since quite long, I'm really happy that i have something useful to share.
Very cool trick, thank you for making me turn on my Keys once again.
I'm happy for that! Have fun
