Greetings from the sunny climes of Basle, Switzerland, with my Kala Journeyman U-Bass at hand.
Where I am practicing to obtain a proper posture, while learning to play the U-Bass, set forth by your invaluable videos, merci beaucoup.

Thank you for your hints/tips on posture! You have saved me from falling into the trap of the over bent strumming wrist. 😲

Bought an ubass because of your videos. Thank you for introducing me this so fun instrument.
By the way I was squeezing, that's why the thumb was hurting

Stephen, Great Video. The tips here could save someone a bunch of money on Chiropractor Bills. LOL. But seriously, all good stuff. I am very careful when I play no matter what Bass I am playing. Sitting or Standing. I already have Scoliosis and I don't want it to get worse., My dad had "Basser's Back" from playing Upright hunched over which is basically scoliosis that he developed later in life. He hunched allot when he was playing piz more than bowing. My thing is keeping my fingers curved and always sitting or standing straight.
Quick yes or no unrelated question of the day LOL. In your Music career, have you ever done any Busking (if you know what that is) anywhere, and if so how was it? If not, or you don't know what I mean, no worries.
I'll see you Thursday for the Live stream whatever you have planed, and whatever Bass I am practicing/playing/fooling around on, Sitting, or Standing, I'll make sure I have good Posture. that I Sit, or stand straight, and that my fingers are curved properly. Cheers :)

      Hey Seth,
I hope it helps prevent injuries for someone. I have busked several times with a guitar and an ukulele, but rarely the bass.
      Cheers!

@@stephencoxbass We'll have to talk about that Busking in another conversation. Yeah Injuries for me, you anyone or bad. Later. Cheers. :)

Cool do you have a 5 string ubass.
This is great info. I find 2 strap buttons better.

I do not have a 5 string at the moment. On the solid body U-Basses I would also prefer 2 strap buttons as well. Thanks for watching!

    Thanks mate, very useful 👍🏻👍🏻
Edit - I've got a Journeyman (love it) & would like a new u-bass that's louder acoustically - any recommendations? (anyone's answer appreciated). Budget around £1000. Thank you 👍🏻👍🏻

Any U-Bass with a sound hole should be a touch louder. If you are trying to get to a sound that can be heard with a guitar, you may want something a bit larger than a U-Bass, like a short scale acoustic bass guitar. Thanks for watching!
