When this Champlin vs Eagan game started, I didn't care too much about either team, and I figured Eagan would win. But damn, Emma Schmidt was so amazing in this game, by the end I was 100% rooting for Champlin. What a fantastic player.
The crowds for both teams are ruthless 😭
Sabrinaaa it’s honestly become a sick sport of its own, they don’t even care about the sport of volleyball or the team. They just get off on trying to out-do the other crowd and belittle the other teams players. It was not like this 10 years ago when I was in HS 🤮
@@shelbymorimoto371 agreed - it's pretty much harassment now. it wasn't like this in HS for me either, i did start to notice it slightly around my sophomore year playing in college. even then it was a very FEW people that said nasty things or would shout your names and say rude comments when you're serving. Idk playing in d1 you're mentally trained and have a lot of experience in drowning out the distractions, but not when someone says 'hey bitch don't serve it in the net or else your coach will rape you' (actual words someone said to me right before serving lol)...
maybe its a generational thing? it just seems like there's no class now in the crowds - especially teens today idk
Shelby Morimoto I honestly love it, I’ve heard that most of the kids on Champlins side have been going to the games for a long time, and understand the game. Obviously it gets annoying to the other team, but that’s kinda the point, to distract them and win.
It's a mental game
But yeah some crowds do go to far
Champlin Park is such a good volleyball team, I play volleyball and every time I watch them play I learn something new that will help me improve in volleyball.

Dannielle Gibson plus they have a really big school. And in Minnesota we have open enrollment so players can enroll although they can’t play varsity for a year. Literally the best players from other schools will enroll there.

A misserve on match point especially in the finals really hurts
I'm sure that she bounced back from it, though. She had already won State Championships before she was in high school. I commend her for her composure, even when they chanted "Sister's Shadow". That was jealousy, because Eagen had tapped them out in the State Championship a couple of years prior...
Great match. Those poor girls for Eagain in the press conference... They were almost crying during the whole thing. I feel really bad for the girl that flubbed the final serve, that really hurts.
crazy too because she was and is the #1 player in the 2021 class In the nation! She'll be playing at Nebraska starting this year!

you know what is crazy, ashburn was a setter in high school and then went to college and plays right back defense, then hilly (a middle) goes and sets all around. It’s crazyyyyyy how things change so quicky

I very much look up to them and I've see them work and it inspires me todo the same with my team here in San Antonio . I thought you were going to say "especially Emma Schmidt". Her team was good, but damn, she was excellent. She made so many key plays it was shocking. Given how close the final score was, there's no way they could have won that if she had been switched out with someone else.
I agree though, the team deserved to win. If anyone on the team had made too many mistakes, it would have cost them the game as well. Good job all around.

Something I find kind of neat. CP never won it all when Syd Hilley was there, but her sister Cami gets to be part of the team that got them over the hump. Syd goes to UW and is part of the team that gets the Badgers over the hump finally. Izzy is the lucky one; she got to be on both teams
