I met Rex Chapman as a kid when he played for the suns. Such a nice guy to all of us. His addiction was wild, but The fact that Rex can have a sense of humor about it and smile and he’s doing well is awesome in itself. Hoping his book helps a lot of people out there that need it. Much respect to Rex Chapman for how the dealt with his struggles and getting past them. Chapman was a great player at Kentucky, especially his last year there. Rex was a tremendous athlete that could jump out the gym, he was a force going to the bucket, and he had a beautiful jumper whether it was his pull up or catch and shoot. I enjoyed watching him play then game. 👏🔥

I think most people are like me; rooting for Rex to stay sober so he can continue to share his remarkable story in an honest fashion. I’m going to read the book and maybe it will answer my #1 question. Where was his dad in all of this? He was a professional as a player and a nationally renowned college coach. I’ve listened to Rex talk about his troubles on a number of occasions and even just now. I don’t remember him ever mentioning his dad one way or the other. I think maybe one time I heard him joke that his dad has said Rex couldn’t have played for him. I took that as his way of joking that Rex may not have been coachable. Was his dad gone by the time Rex was retired and heading down the wrong path? I guess the book will cover that.

It does not deteriorate thought process and decision-making at all. It’s another method to keep yourself alive. Well you work on the reasons why you use drugs, which was the solution to your problem.
Grew up in Harlan KY, now in Fayetteville NC amidst Tarhicks and Puke fans. I was struck on a black guy at an opposing high school but I knew I'd be run out of town on a rail if I dated him
How dare this guy talk about Suboxone like it's a drug. Suboxone saved my life.. I've been clean 7 years from heroin thanks to Suboxone. What an idiot.
Carful who you call an idiot. Suboxone contains a combination of buprenorphine and naloxone. Buprenorphine is an opioid medication, also called a narcotic.
It is a drug. A controlled substance. And you trade one addiction for the other. How many people come off of opioids/opiates and then take Suboxone once and quit cold turkey? And from one addict to another what good does it do tearing another addict down?
it does save you from the chaos of oxys or herion but eventually you realize that your a slave to the suboxone and thats very difficult to kick as well.

My gosh, was he one helluva basketball player. Whatever his past troubles, I am glad to see he is in a good place today.
