The tone at 5:40 is excellent. Adding the EQ was very subtle but added a LOT to the overall tone. Increasing the Gain on the BD-2 at 6:35 didn't work for me, it started to sound a little muddy. With the BD-2 off and the SD-1 on at 7:22, the SD-1 did sound very similar to a TS808. Given the current pricing for a used SD-1, and the price to make the MOD, this is a excellent alternative to the more expensive TS808.
Question for Mike or anyone: How does the AM DD3 mod compare to the "long-chip" DD3, is the mod striving to achieve that same warm sound or get even closer to analog?
