AMAZING Lighting / Darkness Config File In 1.19 DayZ, Create Dark & Pitch Black Areas! PC & Console

Using the amazing new cfgundergroundtriggers.json server mission config file that has been included in DayZ update 1.19, we can now create independent areas of low light, darkness or even pitch black wherever we like, independent of the time of day.
This means you can make it dimmer or duller inside normal buildings, or pitch black inside bunkers and structures with no windows!
(You can even have dark areas outside, the effect is independent of any structures.)
In this video tutorial I explain & show you the basics of to how to create darker or pitch black areas on your DayZ PC, PlayStation, Xbox Console Community Servers.

Hi Scale. I did many tests on dark areas. The 3 size values correspond to the size in the East-West axis for the first, to the height for the second and to the size in the North-South axis for the third. The orientation is to be taken into account. For a building with a Yaw of 13 I have to enter [6.5, 0, 0]. Why only 6.5 instead of 13, I have no idea. If it can help

@Scalespeeder Gaming i hate to ask but maybe could you go over the new things like the punchcard and the plate carrier and tell us where they spawn in types.xml and their names in the code?

Probably work like the gas cloud rings and every bread crum will be a admitted you mite find some of the trigger for the gas cloud mite work on this
this is extremely cool. however as its easy to see. when you look into that building it looks normal which kind of defeats the purpose for using it in houses and stuff. but... still a really cool tool to have on hand.
im thinking the house lighting would be more like a very subtle adjustment, vs things like the tunnels and bunkers, where you'd want it to get much darker. because inside a house isnt quite as dark as his example, and you could shrink the radius of the effect, so that as you get TO the door, it's already getting lighter to your eyes.
@@ghomerhust true. i just cant unsee the fact that it looks normal from the outside looking in. i would be surprised if there could be some good trickery to be done tho
@@LakevusParadice yea like artificial fog that can give that effect of darkness from afar, blurring the interior. Can tweak it up with its own trigger radius. The interiors only look like that because detailed shadows in the interior would eat up resources, especially for every interior in the game.
I just have a quick question. I rented a Nitrado server, how would I go about changing it from 1.18 to 1.19?
If you go into Nitrado you will find something reinstall this will wipe the map and your character but you wanna only do this when 1.19 is no just experimental anymore.

I can't spawn zombies on artificial elevations (modding building roof or similar)!
dayz doesnt allow it, they always spawn at ground level (y 0), you can try to put y200 in spawn code but 99/100 times it still doesnt work
use zombie SpawnTool mod
hello, how do I add audio along with the darkness? example put the scary audios when the player enters the dark area?

Couldn’t you tweak the falloff ranges of the trigger radius? So it can have a gradual change instead of progressive slides of darkness?
The floating apple is so funny 😆 I know what it’s for though lol I’ve made a few games on a platform with simplified logic called “Dreams” on PS4. I use similar methods to make the interior darken. Not sure how it is coded literally string by string but if you can get a falloff radius, similar to a simple grenade damage radius as a sphere, you can implement that into the trigger to make it always recall the position of the player through percentages. I say percentages because the grenades have a falloff radius just like how this trigger can. That in tune can go into the dimming of the light.. Dabble with it man I’m trying to explain it best I can 😂‼️ good job
