It does indeed. I in fact regard Chatanyara no Kon as my speciality kata with Bo as it has always been my favourite. Alas a video of me performing it is unlikely to emerge any time soon ;)
@@DanielPyatt cant help but ask why? It is such a rare form to see anymore. Is Chatan yara no kon not meant to be shown? Many great bo practitioners say they won't video that kata but never say why. I am very blessed as my sensei just taught it to me. Just curious if i should be safe guarding it lol.
@@shotoman300 That Gene is very good question. The general argument is that it is a seriously advanced Bo Kata, known to few and understood by fewer still. You should treasure it as very few people know an accurate version. I was fortunate too to learn it early on in my Bo training and I think that type of transmission in the dojo is best. I don't think the argument is about not being willing to share it but rather through social media etc. It was acquired by those that know it through many diligent hours of training, practice and sacrifice in the dojo. Does anyone therefore deserve it to be shared and given freely? The version that I practice is of Ryukyu Kobujutsu the Taira-Inoue Lineage. You will notice a distinct absence of any video footage of that style on my channel despite it being my main Kobujutsu style. This is out of respect for my own senseis who would simply prefer it not to be shared in that way and I can only respect that.

As always - great focus, balance, technique, dynamics and awesome kiai! Thank you for sharing this!
Thank you for the kind words Russell, really appreciated.

nice kata!
Thank you kindly
Great kata as always. Does your kobudo system have the bo kata Chatan yara no kon? It would be neat to see you perform that kata.
