This is the best seafood chowder I have ever come across🤗. I have made it several times. I add a dash of soya sauce, Worcestershire sauce and some extra veggies too. Thank you and I hope you are healthy and safe.
Ohhhh that looks fantastic!!! I want a bowl of it. I love clam chowder. Sometimes it is a bit too thick. This looks sooo good with lots of sea food. Fresh parsley and dill. I’m going to make it and know I will thoroughly enjoy. 😊
She made it the way SHE likes it. I wouldn't make it that way but hey......it's her channel. There are tons of chowder recipes on yt so check out a bunch of them and choose the one you like best, right?
my friend in australia says that's how bacon is back there, almost like a ham. we cant always say "hey you're calling it wrong" for something we have here that we call differently. here a jumper is a one piece sleeveless suit worn with a blouse or shirt but in british it means a sweater.
@SmokeyBrew oh, not going to local butchers is saddening, indeed. i wish the local butchers business well :-) as for justine, yeah she made it differently compared to others' recipe, but i respect her take on that :-) have a nice day! 👍💕
Chowder can be thick or thin as these are simply different styles of the same dish. Thick chowder while delicious can be quite heavy and filling, a lighter broth in particular actually does a better job of highlighting the seafood instead of it blending in with the potatoes to the point of it nearly being a gravy.
This is her own style of chowder, not sticky, it is just like an ordinary soup. Personally I do not like this. I can make seafood chowder way better than her.
Let me get this straight. She claims she wants to replicate San Fran seafood chowder, then makes major changes in it? I wonder if she knows the meaning of the word replicate which means "a close or exact copy". This isn't even close. And keeping it thin? YUCH!
She’s in a hurry of putting all the ingredients in the pot. Not showing that the first ingredient must to be cooked first before adding the next ingredient.
Thats soup.. not that theres anything wrong with soup, but that aint chowder. And c'mon, dont be shy, you need at least twice as much potato and 4 times as much seafood as was added.. Make every spoonful its own overly-abundant paradise.. I wont pile on like others have.. we all cook our food the way we like it.. and, after all, its only food. I will this about the bacon commentary, I lived in other countries, all have their take on 'bacon'... the worst tasting 'bacon' I've had in American 'bacon'.. 85% fat and 10% meat (How's that for a math major!). I lived for a good time in the UK.. the bacon is mostly meat, a bit of rind, and just enough fat to stop you from bitchin'.. This I suppose explains why americans tend to cook their bacon to a literal crisp and why a brit can feel well satisfied with a good olde cheap bacon butty sandwich..with all that flavorful chewy bacon goodness. That said, dont waste your time trying to convince an American that their take on bacon isnt the galactic standard that all others should be judged by.. it's a wasted effort..
Different cuts of pork just need to be cooked differently. How anyone enjoys that cut fried to a crisp is absolutely beyond me however. What other cut of meat would people be ok with it literally crumbling when you pick it up? American bacon can be great if used correctly imho.
Pinot grigio is really good to use as far as white wines are concerned in cooking instead of Riesling ...
Cooked according to your instructions and came out perfect.

I would add the flour before adding liquid to prevent lumps. In addition, to cook off some of the raw floury starch taste.
A teaspoon... bloody one teasapoon of flour for fucks sake.
She did cook it off afterward so it's fine
I had seafood chowder at Goa, and ever since i have been digging the recipies to recreate it!
Laura in the kitchen has the best clam chowder recepi..
Beautiful and healthy!! I will be checking out more of your videos. God bless you!

No salt?
Where is the Receipe?.?., Please Write it Down, thanks
Always using your delicious seafood chowder recipe. Sssssooooo awesome 🤩 😋
You were right lady, that's a broth not a chowder. As for the bacon, we call it imitation bacon like imitation crab meat (surimi).
Still a great job.
american bacon definitely different,
Yes Sir...
That's looks like ham to me
Where is the seasoning
Interesting video. You said thinner, and that's what you delivered.
What kind of prawns are they?
Too thin. Also missing some typical ingredients.
Looks delicious
the flour has to be cooked, you cant just infuse it in the liquid like that
A teaspoon... a teaspoon, of flour for fucks sake....
Jimmy Jones 😁
Can’t? Did. Dummy!
@@strongtony9412 BUT IT'S ****ING RAW YOU MUPPET!
...sorry about that. Guess I've watched too much Gordon Ramsay.
short cut bacon, no that was ham from the southern Atlantic... see food
I thought the same!! Hahaha
A link to the recipe would have been helpful

A chowder is thick, if it's not it is soup.......
I bet you wil not get this one in San Fransisco lol.
YUCK ! Give me a Maritime aseafood Chowder anyday .
Potato seafood soup
What can i to replace BACON FOR ?
You dont even need to add bacon. All i use is onion mussels, surimi, prawns. Cream, maggis seafood soup mix, and parsley to give it that color.
Needed the Recipe written
That’s no chowder, that’s a soup
THANKS YOU GOODNESS 🌟 DAPHNE COTTON ALWAYS 💜 AWESOME
Put Scallops in last..... don't want to over cook
I'm sure it's great ... I do prefer a thicker Chowder not soup
Nope that’s a soup not a chowder 🙅🏻♀️
That's a vegetable chowder not a seafood chowder
We use a hickory smoked pork belly bacon in San Fran. Otherwise it looks really good.
Salmon spread
Bacon?! thats HAM!! yes i know its still pork BUT ITS NOT BACON!!. Its not pork Belly! sheeze she's cooking it all wrong!

xevious2501 it’s a canadian bacon duh 🙄
In USA, what she used is what we call smoked pork loin or Canadian bacon. Yummy.
It's bacon, ham comes from a different part of the pig. Are you that thick?
does not look yummy. I like my chowder thick so I can eat/scoop onto fresh bread.
Looks delicious but chowder is not like broth. It's supposed to be thick.
this is more so a "soup" than a chowder.
you should just call your video fish-soup then!
Don't use a stainless pot for stuff like this unless you want to constantly stir 🙄
chowder is not that hard but she still get's it wrong...
its too thin...dont like it
I hate thiccc ass soups, i save all that thiccc love for my ladies
About as much abuse in these comments as I expected. The word "chowder" is one people seem to be seriously protective of for whatever reason.
Dude.... that ain’t bacon
That's Australian Ham Bacon.

Celery Leaves 😉
chowder is not soup. don't you hate it when people serve you runny chowder??
This is her own style of chowder, not sticky, it is just like an ordinary soup. Personally I do not like this. I can make seafood chowder way better than her.
Me too
It is very thin but had she made the same recipe you can find a 1000 times then you guys would complain is just a copy of those.
Very nice! 😋🌽🍤🍲🇦🇺🇺🇸
Yes and Seafood Stock instead of Chicken broth ... ( Shrimp stock 😋 YUM )
I guess Australians must call ham .. bacon??
That was bacon, short cut bacon (the part of the bacon that is not streaky bacon)
Seafood chowder it is. Looks good, though.
you are fail girl ,big time . thats not a seafood chowder , this is seafood soup.
As if you'd know.
Fail? She can serve me this soup anytime!
@@ronpalmer6434 looks like you did not watch the video very close. you missed the opened dead mussels. That is one high risk meal.
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooo Scallops last
Thats not bacon
😂😂😂
Too watery, add little flour to it and some seasoning
Why call it a chowder when clearly its Soup. Wasted my time honestly.
yeah...no, bye
Thank you, a lighter version definitely.

That's not bacon 😂😂😂😂😂
Fishy water
why add bacon? any alternative! we don't eat any ham or bacon.
Reem Obaid remove it and add more salt
Use dried tomatoes or even olives, for saltiness
There is always Biloxi Bacon (Smoked Mullet) which should work well in a chowder.
That's not bacon!
That ain’t bacon……..
Dill? Try it with thyme and bay leaf, you may like it!
She did add thyme and a bay leaf
it is bacon, its the other end of the bacon 🙄🙄
Radda Radda Radda
Lol....🤭😏
I came here to learn how to cook chowder, not to fall in love. Dammit.
Haha well said man. She fine
Ina Garten's recipe is way better
Not a single ounce of seasoning.....on anything.
Flower is not necessary
Too thin for my liking
This looks like washing dishes water with fish. Not even close to the chowder. Terrible. all wrong
That's ham not bacon
Did you add opened dead mussels! I'll pass!!! That watery fish soup you call chowder could kill someone!
Looks good. But needs to be thick. Sorry
Too watery and thin.
salt
She’s in a hurry of putting all the ingredients in the pot. Not showing that the first ingredient must to be cooked first before adding the next ingredient.
Not thick enough need more texture and maybe a lil ole Bay seasoning 💋
No color no flavour
terrible...🤨😑
Fish stock from the market is horrible. Please don't use!

You are a cutie pie I like your Aussie accent...could you wear some tighter clothes next video..oh the dish looks nice
What the actual fuck you degenerate
use real bacon
Very bad
