Agatha "surrendered to Death's embrace;" however, since Agatha fulfilled her end of the bargain with Rio, Rio could not show her face to Agatha, who became a ghost to spite Death.
I think Agatha killing witches is a bit complex. In part it's to steal power, prolong her life, feed her, but when she became a mother with stolen time it also became a kind of payment to fend off Death. Coincidence, the first time we see witches not being killed we see soon after Nicky being taken in the night. What follows is a mixture of bitterness, pain & anguish. Also this is the second part of what is at least a three part adventure, so I assume we see Agatha & Billy team up in that show, even if its more about Tommy.
When agatha made the flower (after talking about nicky) she said "out of death life". Did nicky's life come from death as well? The kid was half dead his entire life cause he was half death. Did agatha feed death to feed her son's life? She told nicky she was offing covens to survive. Maybe it was more about his survival. So when he choose to stop feeding death cause "mother needs him home" he choose to go home with his other mother rio. I think something happened (probably agatha unable to contr*l her abilities) that resulted in a death. Agatha ends up dating rio. Both agatha and rio off people but they can't help it. They bonded. Mom disapproves and tries to off her. Rio knew of it so rio was before the 7 happened. The pregnancy came later after the 7 died. But when rio took her/their child she used the magic to hide from rio cause she hates her for it. But when her magic got taken rio found her. And was trying to free her from the spell from the beginning. If life and death need to be in balance. And agatha didn't have the ability to create life, she did no spell. Something with the ability created nicky. And in a way billy is simular to nicky. Unnatural birth and their existence shouldn't be so rio did her job.
I love that the credits now end with the image of Billy's room instead of the Witches' Road... although, I suppose that isn't so very different, was it?
I know you've been avoiding spoilers as you've watched, but know that New Rockstars has referenced reports that this show + WandaVision are parts I and II of a three show arc. So there won't be another AAA, but there's an MCU/D+ show in the works that currently is called 'VisionQuest' (or that's how NR is referring to it)
I think that Lillia not knowing the road was made by Billy is because she was seeing her life mainly and it intersected with Billy’s but she died before anyone knew Billy made it all.
They're clearly saving some information for either another season or spinoff. We'll be getting Tommy in Visionquest and season 2 of Wandavision has already begun production. I'm assuming it's coinciding somewhat with Secret Wars since that's when Wanda is rumored to return. Agatha is a hit character, so as a ghost.. she ain't goin' nowhere. The answers will all be revealed in time. It'll be juicy. I think Mephisto is both Nicholas' dad and the twins.
From everything I've read, Marvel AND Elizabeth Olsen have already said (though not in exacting, specific language) there won't be a season 2 of WandaVision, and that Olsen's Wanda won't be coming back at all. There are *rumours*, though, that there MIGHT be a multiversal version of Wanda popping up at some point.
Wanda is coming back in the films it has been said she is coming back to undo what she did in doctor strange and to help people and show she's a good hero. Just working out how to bring her back and I think it be Billy to bring her back as he is the most powerful witch and can probably bring her back.
Hiya. Alice's Mum didn't write the song, she wrote a version of the song - as a protection spell. And I hope there will be a second season (answering and creating more questions) but I don't think it'll happen until all the internal politics and external law suits have ended at Marvel. I'll just go with the flow. Stay safe. All the best to you.
I think the 2 episode finale was great writing. We had the confrontation with death and the Wiccan reveal in episode 8, and the emotional finale in episode 9. I also think that if the three women hadn’t actually died then it lessons the emotional impact of the whole series. Billy now has trauma and guilt that he needs to deal with, and this makes his character much more complex and interesting. I definitely think this stuck the landing.
“Why do we kill witches” “to survive” if they don’t kill witches Rio will come for Nicky instead. Then after Nicky died, Agatha was killing to stave off Rio because she cannot face her son. The guilt of keeping him alive through death then him going in the middle of the night when she couldn’t protect him. Also “my mother needs me home” he’s subconsciously talking about Rio because they are both his mothers because we love lesbians. He gave two kisses, one from him and one from Rio.
THIS. Especially the part on why Agatha needed to kill witches. Absolutely correct. Not sure why others don’t get it, I’m guessing it’s not that obvious. And when I say “others” I mean people’s comments I read on Twitter and Facebook.. but yeah. This is the correct reason.
A question is how did Agatha create a child from "scratch"? We know how Wanda could since the Scarlett Witch is able to spontaneously create life. But Agatha isn't the Scarlett Witch and Rio seemed to feel the boy was a violation hence at his birth she was ready to take his soul to the afterlife. So how did Agatha create Nicholas? Also when did Agatha get the dark hold because in the montage we don't see black fingertips and clearly the montage showed the 80's. Jen knew Agatha had the dark hold so she's had it since the 1920's.
@jmjackson2041 True but we know her whole appearance in Wandavision was disguised to fit the hex like the Agatha all along song being Munsters aka a sitcom inspired reveal. We didn't see Agatha outside of the hex in that show and saw her "true form" in ep 8+9. But I guess you're right somehow outside of her hex disguise she knew how to camouflage herself?
@johnniequinn3215 no. Rewatch the scene. She made Nicholas from "scratch", a fatherless birth. The boy has no father. According to the scene of his birth and what Agatha says
Also, it's not like we see Rio say anything to Agatha like "I won't come for him as long as you provide me with one dead witch per week" or something. It makes sense that there *_could_* have been a deal like that, but if so, we don't see them agree to it.
To me what makes the most sense is that Agatha's power is to siphon other witches' powers and that always been the case, that's how she works but maybe she came to the conclusion that she doesn't care about killing witches after what her mother tried to do. Then when she got pregnant but Rio came she asked for more time which Rio allowed but I think that she continued to kill witches both to pay for the extra time given with Nicky but also to stay more powerful and maybe to stay hidden a little longer... And as for why she killed witches after Nicky's passing, I think that in a way it's something that stayed with her, that as she said she didn't wanted to die cuz it would mean facing her son again and she clearly doesn't want to for now... But also I'm wondering if it's not that out of grief she became power driven and it was in a sense her way to cope? Something else, when in the beginning of the series Rio arrives, she says that she got the Darkhold and hide behind all this dark magic from her all this time before losing it. I think she got it after Nicky's death which is what makes more sense, and in this idea of her coping with being power driven I wonder if she wasn't trying to find a way to resurrect her son? Idk
I don’t think the killing of witches had anything to do with Nicky’s life. She says herself she can’t do anything to protect him and if killing witches really was that important to keeping him alive there’s no way she would have gone to sleep the night of his passing so easily without fulfilling her quota. The truth is Agatha has always been a witch killer ever since her original coven tried to execute her. Nicky only gave her an easier con to pull to keep killing witches. The show does some framing around her need to steal magic from witches as a sort of addiction and when her son is gone she gives herself over to her addiction fully.
@@starvinggamer Yes, this feels to me like the right take. It's an addiction story. 👍🏻 Not only is it about her addiction's effect on her life and relationships, it's also the reason she blames herself for Nicky's death (and thinks Nicky must blame her, too). She "chose" her addiction over her son in the sense that she continued killing witches, when the better path for Nicky would have been for her to "clean up" and find a coven/community they could stay in, so there would be ample food, protection, and healing magic, and maybe Nicky could have lived to a ripe old age. And yes, she also knows he'd be disappointed in her for how much she gave in to her addiction after his death. Great observation!
@@derekfnordThe addiction analogy is apt. This is what the showrunner Jac Schaeffer said about why Agatha is scared to face Nicky in the afterlife: “It’s the fact that she couldn’t save him, that she couldn’t find the knowledge or the power to save him, and it’s the fact that he always leaned good. He didn’t want to kill witches. He didn’t want to live her lifestyle. Instead of rehabilitating herself on his death, she doubled down, and as you said, she used his song to become essentially a mass murderer. I think there’s so much shame for her in that. I watch that final sequence that we call ‘Agatha through time,’ where the camera’s swirling around and she’s conning and killing witches through the ages, and what I see is someone grieving. She can’t get full. She can’t fill herself up, and so she’s just eating and eating and eating. I find it really heartbreaking. I think she has so much shame, because she knows, but that’s part of her connection point with Billy. Obviously, he reminds her of Nicky, and she can get close to their goodness, but she’s not quite there herself, if that makes sense.”
I still think there’s a remote possibility Lilia might not be dead. We didn’t see Rio take her like she did Alice. And where Jen and Billy both vanished from the road when they achieved their goals, maybe Lilia did too.
so it seems Evanora was right - Agatha was born evil. This started about 60 years after she killed her mother's coven in 1693, so she already had a body count when Nicky was born, and we don't know if that was her first. She was also already in a relationship with Rio at that point. they just announced a Wiccan series to be in development, presumably as he tries to find his brother with Agatha as his spirit guide.
Maybe she simply couldn't contr*l her magic and it lead to someone dying. Its something she has in common with rio so she ended up dating death. Mom wasn't happy about it and went after her daughter. She ended up pregnant and said she did no spell to create him. I think nicky was rio's. Like agatha learned when she made the flower "out of death life". Rio is the mother that needed him home the night he died. If the boy was half death it explains why he was half dead all his life. Like she told nicky, Agatha was offing covens to survive, she fed death to give him life. So when he choose to stop doing that his other mother came to take him home. I think it was rio that gave him life in the first place. Only she had that ability. Agatha couldn't. Thats what she learned from the road, death needs to happen in order to make life happen. Agatha helped billy play rio when she gave tommy a second life. And like rio she made a little flower.
So if Ralph (Randall?) Bohner ever reclaims his home, will he try to remove the pentagon in his basement? Or has it been made indestructible by Billy’s magic? What will that do to the property value of the house now?
Forget that. The next owner can just put a rug over it. The more immediate problem will be all the damage Rio caused. Kicking in the front door, blowing out the windows, hurling the kitchen sink through the back wall … lol
For me, I enjoyed this show. I'm not sure a 2nd Season is needed. And without the 9th episode, this would have felt incomplete. Questions I had going back to the 1st episode were answered. I have noticed some people wanted more backstory about Rio & Agatha. Maybe later in some other form. I also like being able to theorize on some of the unanswered questions. I'm sure this will be a polarizing show for some. It's a 👍 for me.
It's definitely not the end of these stories, idk about Agatha. I had heard that there were like 2-3 more Wandavision spinoffs coming up. Not to mention a stand alone movie and a couple of related movies. We know that they intended to put Billy in The Young Avengers. Whether or not that is still happening, idk. With the way this series ended, I could almost see a thing like Randall and Hopkirk deceased. In that show the main guy is a detective who solves crimes with his dead ex-partner. The ghost provides the comedy relief, and that is what I would expect with this pairing as well. idk if that is the route they are going to try to go. It would maybe be interesting. Even if Billy did join the Young Avengers, that still would make his character more interesting. Meanwhile they could try to find a way for Agatha to get her body back, or Billy could even try to stop her.
They never spelt it out, so I guess we can all find our own reasons. I like to think she killed witches to get enough power to save her son. After that it was either out of bitterness, because it was "their thing" or hope that with enough power she could bring him back. They really leave the door wide open for a S2, while also saying there won't be one. A bit frustrating...
It’s not about the power to save Nicholas but a way to give Rio bodies to delay her going for Nicky. It’s all about delaying Rio and there’s been multiple comments throughout the show about that idea.
I'm not 100% clear on why Agatha is so afraid to face Nicholas. The obvious answer is because he was a good boy who didn't like them killing witches, and Agatha kept doing so for centuries after his death (even using their song to lure the witches in), so she can't face how disappointed in her he'll be, etc. Except... he already knows she's killed many, many witches. It's not like that would be new information for him. She acts like she thinks he would blame her for his death. More than that, she acts like she blames *_herself_* for his death. But unless I missed it somehow, I don't think we see her do anything that seems to cause him to die. At least, not directly; if she could stop stealing witches' power for a while, they could have found a community to live with where there *_was_* enough food, and people that could heal him, etc. So maybe she feels like her hubris caused him to die prematurely by not taking good enough care of him. But I have a hunch (and this is just fan theory, not supported by anything on screen) that maybe she *_DID_* make a deal with Rio where she agreed to trade her son's life in exchange for a "Get Out of Death Free" card for herself, and made this deal *_before_* she had Nicholas. Like, "I'll have a baby and give him to you, and you leave me alone." So when we see Rio show up right after Agatha gives birth, she's not coming because the baby died in childbirth or something... she's coming to collect on the deal. But after actually giving birth to Nicholas, Agatha finds she can't go through with it, and begs Rio not to take him, to which Rio says she can only offer time. If this theory is true, it doesn't explain why exactly Rio came for Nicholas the night he died, unless perhaps it's because Agatha had to kill a witch every so often, and by not killing one that day, she exceeded her time limit(?). But it *_would_* explain why Agatha blames herself for Nicholas dying so young, why RIo couldn't take Agatha herself (because they made a deal for Nicholas), why she believed the truth was worse than letting people believe that she had traded her son for the Darkhold, and why Agatha reacted the way she did when Billy asked her, "Is this how Nicky died?" Now that Agatha is dead, but is a ghost because she won't move on, I suspect her future story arc in the MCU might be as a guide/advisor to Wiccan, where she hopes to redeem herself somewhat before she has to face her son. Of course, that's the nice view. The dark view would be that she's still angling to try and find a way to claim his/Wanda's power, perhaps with the idea of creating her own warped reality where Nicky isn't dead.
This show feels like a great but selfish lover. The show finished and went to sleep but you're just left hanging. Great build up and almost close to perfect but the problem is the show is done before helping you be done.
We don't get enough back story, and that pisses me off. We know Nicholas was born, and that Death was supposed to take him as he was born... but Death gave her 6 extra years. But why? What reason? Why was he taken? How did she get the Darkhold in the first place? Sure it's backstory... but it's literally a fucking nothingburger when it comes to actual information. Other than the road really being a con. All we get is the assumption that she traded the life of her firstborn in exchange for the darkhold..? ish? Maybe? I wanted more answers and I'm kind of annoyed that we didn't really get any. And now I'm left with this sinking feeling that Aubrey as death will be a 1 and done of the character... but I hope I'm wrong
You're thinking too much and not listening. Nicky was supposed to die upon birth but Agatha begged Rio for time and Rio granted it bc they were lovers. Rio stated that no one ever got special treatment besides Agatha. How she got the Darkhold isn't important. What she did with it is and that's learn how to do forbidden magic. The rumor about hee trading her child for it was just what she let ppl believe.
@@JADTORight, Nicky was meant to be stillborn. Rio loved Agatha so she bent the rules and let her have him for six years, but we could see that he was sickly, he was living on borrowed time. The rumor of Agatha trading him for the Darkhold was just that, a rumor. The showrunner has talked about how Agatha sees the truth about Nicky as “more awful” than that, because Agatha’s comfortable leaning into the powerful villainous witch role. She’s not comfortable having people know that her son just died and that she failed to find a way to save him, she doesn’t want people to know about her deepest vulnerabilities.
We have all the backstory we need to make sense of this series. Anything more would be a needless infodump. If you read between the lines, it’s all. We don’t need to be spoonfed every single detail.
@@1977Arrakis Not really, no. The farthest back we have of Agatha's (mcu) history is her killing her mother/coven... and we know that she had the darkhold before that point. So there is some very needed missing context to literally anything related to agatha
I've been contemplating if Agatha condured the pregnancy since she says "I made you from scratch", which I guess is probably also against some sort of witches rules and that is the reason Rio came for him in the first place 🤔

Also I can’t wait for the next season of outlander ❤❤
I believe this takes place following the events we see in WandaVision.
3 years after, at least.
@@johnniequinn3215, I meant when Agatha killed her mother's coven.
@@LeeCarlson Yes, that was 1693, I just looked it up.
@@johnniequinn3215, thank you for that.
And why did she kill her mother and her coven, long before Nicky was born?
@@derekfnord Because they were trying to kill her.

Is Anna an actress? She looks familiar.
No she's a book writer
But it *_would_* explain why Agatha blames herself for Nicholas dying so young, why RIo couldn't take Agatha herself (because they made a deal for Nicholas), why she believed the truth was worse than letting people believe that she had traded her son for the Darkhold, and why Agatha reacted the way she did when Billy asked her, "Is this how Nicky died?"
Now that Agatha is dead, but is a ghost because she won't move on, I suspect her future story arc in the MCU might be as a guide/advisor to Wiccan, where she hopes to redeem herself somewhat before she has to face her son.
We just don't know the father, who was a non powered human and thus unimportant to remember from Agatha's pov.
We just don't know the father, who was a non powered human and thus unimportant to remember from Agatha's pov.
But right before she says she made him from scratch, she also says she used no spell. So it doesn't sound to me like she conjured the pregnancy.
@@derekfnord Ah... I might have missed that 😅
@derekfnord Yep, that's what I was trying to say too. It was an ordinary pregnancy.
