Also what does Tassawuf have to do with a legal fiqh ruling? Tassawuf is the inner science of Islam, the science of Ihsan while the permissiblity of Music a issue of fiqh. Hamza Yusuf follows the Maliki School of fiqh.

@@rustyray420 I couldn't agree more, this ummah needs a revival of the tassawuf of our great scholars like Imam Al Gazzali and the path of Imam Al Junaid (not the pseudo sufis). I would also argue that we are losing fiqh as well. People are being sold on these innovative ideas that they themselves can follow the "Quran and Sunnah" without studying any of the four schools of fiqh. It's just a scary thought that this ummah has been following these 4 schools for over 1200 years (before that they were also following schools of fiqh but not solidified), yet here we have ignorant kids in the 21st century thinking they could interpret the Quran and Sunnah themselves. May Allah guide us and return us to the correct understanding of this religion.
