I think one of my favorite things about this song, if you pay attention to the lyrics, it's essentially the definition of "don't fall asleep first at a sleepover." It's ALL about screwing around with shipmates who made less than stellar decisions and are now at the mercy of the rest. For some reason, that mentality really comes out with this version. Maybe it's the upbeat and peppy mood, the very fast tempo, or the inclusion of all the different instruments and voice parts. 11/10 on this one!

Malinda and friends: This performance deserves.. only 2 words. Ready? ¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡¡THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!! 😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤😊❤
I had a headache......HAD. That base, percussion and pipes combo rattled it square outta my head and the mid/highs with the violin soothed any lingering effects on out.
Great job, everyone was fantastic, in short - loved it!
I never knew bagpipes can sound SO good! so amazing!!
you should check out her channel www.youtube.com/@PiperAlly
@@jollyrogerhobbies2386 was about the first thing I did :D
Ally really is something else, check out her channel
Then check this guy out : Massimo Giuntini (you wont be dissappointed :) )
But you are Shure that Is a bagpipe???....for me Is a piva not bagpipe.....😄😄😄
Wonderful rendition of this traditional shanty by all thes talented musicians. Thank you for sharing this with us all.
Bobby Waters, the man who makes Josh Turner sound like an alto
For someone who grew up with sea shanties, thank your for this performance. Not only it is brilliant but it also is faithful unlike so many travestations that started popping out around when suddenly Wellerman became big.
This blows my mind! I cannot stop listening to this. Everyone there is so incredibly talented, and to think it all came together randomly through TikTok. Congrats, guys, it's spectacular!
As a violinist i think its awesome to add a violinist it just adds that extra depth in this song just like every person in this video, without all of them it just wouldn’t sound the same.
Bloody fantastic 👏 👌 🙌 😀 😍
Holy... this is incredible, as soon as this is available on spotify it will go straight into my sailing playlist!
It is now!!
@@Malinda Amazing
a beautiful group of people playing a wonderful song beautifully! their passion shines through, how awesome!
The thing is that the song is not supposed to be beautiful. It's a silly song about pranking a sailor. This version sounds overly majestic for a goofy song. Lol. I find the Irish Rovers version more appropriate.
@@ValorDucky So let me get this straight, you don't like this song because...it's beautiful and majestic? Seriously? Don't get me wrong, you can have your own opinions. But I also have mine, and mine is that that take is incredibly stupid.
@@kaworusshadowclone9392 I said I preferred another version. Didnt say anything about hating it.
@@ValorDucky Still dumb to me. Subversive versions of songs can exist yknow. But hey, whatever you think is fine.
@@kaworusshadowclone9392 calling opinions you don't like dumb is dumb. You sounded so offended over it.
A year old and still viral. Bobby compliments you amazingly well.
Everyone in this are having fun but you Malinda and Mia really enjoy yourself with this. It shows in your facial expressions! I love it when musicians are having fun doing what they like. I was at a Metallica concert many years ago and everything was just so perfect! When they began to play "Nothing Else Matters" magic occurred. I was there for only this song. We in the crowd gave more than everything and Metallica gave more than everything. This triggered more positive vibes so we gave even more. This intense love was so strong that I will NEVER forget this few minutes. The crowd and the band had so fun!
Super cool! The violin, bagpipes, deep base voices......percussion.....and that last crescendo into the finish was awesome! Thank you for all the work to produce that performance!
That was awesome! The voices, the instrumentation, the faces… the whole package! Just wonderful.
As a former drunken sailor, I say let him sleep it off. You all do that fun tune so well. Thanks!
"What do we do with the drunken sailor?"
Please don't throw me off the boat.
Hello Malinda. I've been listening to "Drunken Sailor, The Wellerman and Hoist the Colours" for the past week non stop. You have an amazing voice and so does everyone else that's in your videos. I can't wait to hear more song like these three. Your doing great.
I read this comment, and realized I had done the EXACT same thing with the same songs... its contagious!
Same here. It's so enchanting and draws u in and before u know it, ur listening to them non stop. Especially Hoist The Colours. I have been listening to this one for almost half an hr cuz I find it so soothing with Bobbys low bass voice
I love that you have a bagpipe in there, definitely a sailor instrument. It's also my favorite thing out there.
Bobby is something else his octive range is absolutely fantastic
This melody is still in my head🎵🎶
Could listen way hey every morning 😁
SAAAME it gives so much good vibes
When they’re used just right, bagpipes are absolutely gorgeous.
These bagpipes are phenomenal.
That bagpipe solo was absolutely everything. 😍
Heck yeah: though the violen also is sublime
Ally Crowley-Duncan
I love the voices and instruments perfectly balanced between support and high notes. You all are Fabulous, I hope you keep finding the Followers
Best version of all time with original speed. Thank you! It brings back powerful memories from my time in the Navy when I sailed with my comrades across the rough seas through some heavy storms.
Did you get to actually sing sea shanties???
First time I heard Melinda sing just blew me away, a fantastic voice and a joyous smile, love her. Want get some CDs of hers
Just found this woman's music! Where have I been hiding? This whole crew is outstanding!
You are all just so beautiful! ❤ Each person is so happy, so much so that you can see AND hear it. There is something so beautiful about strangers from across the world coming together to bond and create something beautiful!
That Bobby's bass is amazing. And the dude playing the drums happiness is so contagious I can't help but smile the whole song
This bass guy is unbelievable
