I saw her say in an interview that her grandmother told her love is a losing game for women in their family. And unfortunately that struck true, she was surrounded by men (father and boyfriend) that used her amazing talent and took advantage when they knew she needed help. This song always brings me to tears. I hope she realized how loved she truly was before she left us. RIP to the most soulful and beautiful artist of my generation.
Love is a Losing Game is Amy Winehouse best masterpiece. This song speaks to the souls, the ones who love but lost it, never knowing what went went wrong.

Amy was only 23 when she wrote this. For such a young person to write such profound lyrics just shows what an old soul she was. Rest in peace Amy, never forgotten.
Thunder Lips I felt this way a 23 it's wasn't bout a man just family in general but if I knew how to put my pain into words this would be the perfect way to describe my feelings God I love you Amy
Good comment but when yo look at a lot of lyricists they where all young. To name one still alive Alex Turner. Not a massive fan but I thought he wrote above his perceived maturity? Look at the 27 club, all poets really? I'm gonna put green man on to lighten the mood. To Thunder lips
I agree, this is a fabulous song. Many songwriters though come up with profound lyrics in their younger days. Most of Bowie's best lyrics were penned before he was twenty-five (and I am a huge Bowie fan with all of his albums). Also, though in a different written form, Dylan Thomas had produced some incredible verse by his mid twenties.
I was 70 years old last week, this song still brings tears to my eyes, such a shame she died so young, so much more to come from this beautiful talented lady.
I saw her singing this live in Camden Jazz club , one Thursday at around 1 am...she was completely off her face and could barely stand but her voice was still there. My friend looked at me with tears in his eyes and said: She doesn't have long if she doesn't get clean'' About 6 months later she was dead. What a talent and what a song!
She was such a rare talent, at least she shared her gift before she left this world. I honestly think shes in a better place, she went through so much torment and depression while she was here, now her soul is at rest and her talent will live on.
Her voice, her phrasing, was as good as any of the greatest female vocalists of all time, not to mention that she was such a profound lyricist. Such a loss.
This song really portrays the feeling of loving someone with an addiction. I feel for Amy I lost my boyfriend last year in a car accident and we both struggled with depression and addiction. Love can be so painful sometimes. Appreciate your loved ones life is so short
When Amy died George Michael said she was the most soulful musical vocalist Britain ever produced. He loved this song of hers. Two powerhouses who could both sing from the soul Gone Much Too Soon....
think for anyone that has lost part of their soul can feel this song at its true meaning ... hearbreak is a mild explanation for it ... for me its as close to the perfect song that i have ever heard ...
I understand the "laughed at by the Gods" comment all too well. I wish I could say what I want to right now but I can't. I still believe in God but I wonder WHY - WHY - WHY at least one thing in this life couldn't be. They lyrics to this song are deeply profound.
Today it would've been Amy's 39th birthday. It's such a shame she died so young, I wish she was still alive. She truly was one of a kind, an incredibly talented singer and songwriter. "Love Is A Losing Game" has always been one of my favourite songs of Amy. I still don't understand why it doesn't have so many views compared to "Rehab", "Back To Black" or "You Know I'm No Good". This song always gets me, it just strikes a nerve. R.I.P. Amy Winehouse 🕯🌹 You live on in every single song of yours and you'll always be remembered ❤
Yes she will always be remembered! People many years from now will enjoy her music, so she will live on forever. She burned so brightly and gone too soon. I never saw her in concert, I wish I would have.
@@davejaro Me too 😔 Unfortunately she never toured my country. I wish I would've seen her in concert 🙁 Back in June 2010 my class made a school trip to London for about a week. It was awesome! I remember how excited I was because we visited Camden (e.g. Camden Market and Camden Lock) and I thought to myself how amazing it would be if we met Amy. Sadly that didn't happen. We went to Madame Tussauds and I took a ton of photos of Amy's wax figure. It was really well made. It wore the iconic yellow dress she wore at the Brit Awards 2007. I would've lost my shit if I had encountered her for sure 😅
@@nikkili8944 That would have been so cool to have seen Amy in Camden! I was in London in 2008 when she was at her peak, I recall her name back then but never listened to her albums. Now I am in love with her voice. Love is a Losing Game is my favorite song, easily. I can listen to it on repeat for hours. Her legend will just grow stronger with time.
@@davejaro "Love Is A Losing Game" is already a classic 🥰 Amy was such a talented singer and songwriter and this song is testament to her songwriting capabilities. She was one of a kind for sure. Even Prince and George Michael covered "Love Is A Losing Game" at their concerts. If that's not an accolade, I don't know what is. Now all 3 of them rocking in heaven 😎 R.I.P. Amy, Prince and George 🕯🌹❤
The best song of all time. A modern classic. 100 years from now they’ll be playing this, just like they do for the classical musicians and jazz greats. Thank you for your timeless music, Amy. We owe a huge debt to you! ❤
I remember travelling into London with my mum and brother when I was about 14 or 15 years old. When we got into London, not far from islington/highbury area, the traffic was slow but flowing with a stop start rhythm. As we were gradually edging towards the front of a queue that was caused by a set of traffic lights, a beautiful girl that was sitting and waiting at a bus stop to the left of me caught my eye. I couldn't help but stare at her as she sat there and gaze towards the sky, in her own world. Looking at her I could see that her carefree head was in the clouds just watching the day go past. She then turned her head and noticed me staring at her, we made eye contact. As we paused in that brief but beautiful moment, eyes locked looking at one another, we shared a beautiful subtle smile before breaking into a full on contagious beaming smile, as if we were good friends sharing a private joke and all the passersby were none the wiser. I thought "wow look how beautiful she is and what a gorgeous smile" and then blushingly I turned my gaze away, not wanting to make it awkward for myself nor her. Then I thought to myself "Hold on! Was that?!" I snapped my neck back and realised, Yes! it was indeed Amy Winehouse! She started laughing realising that I had processed, computed and only just clocked on. I exclaimed to my brother "look!! that's Amy Winehouse there!" He was more focused on the road and the lights up ahead as they began to change green he didnt believe me anyway. As the car started moving I quickly put my windows down and shouted "AMY!!" She looked and was laughing even harder and then I knew without doubt it was her. The cars moved off and my moment with her had passed. I still think of that moment, especially when I go into London, as I usually go past the exact same spot. I think what if I would have got out the car and just took my shot at striking a conversation with her. Just to connect with another human and interact before going on about our days and lives. She had a beautiful smile. And I can still picture her in that moment.
А по моему, она гениально воплощала именно земную женщину- с ее красотой, очарованием, соблазном и конечно же капризами. Именно то, за что мы и обожаем женщин
This world tortures the innocent. Amy was a little lost girl trying to make sense of the cruel chaos. Achingly beautiful song. Rest In Peace Miss Winehouse. x
Raw, honest and so real. This song is incredibly haunting to listen to given the story of Amy winehouse, both in her life and in her music. This song feels like a cry for help of someone who's been used, neglected and manipulated by those closet to them. A feeling many of us can empathise with....
I always kept Amy's tragedy in the back of my mind as that celebrity accident that happened in my childhood. I didn't realize we had lost a legend. Now that I'm an older sensitive soul, I can appreciate the magic she brought us. Rest in peace Miss Winehouse.
Same with me, my mum used to play her music, and I was a quite big fan of Amy. I still remember the news on the television, but only now that I’m older I understand everything that had happened
She was a tortured soul. Her music only gave us a glimpse inside of her but she was never truly understood. We can only appreciate what we saw, know or witnessed of her. She was born with wings.
The late great George Michael said she was the best female vocalist he's ever heard in his career. He sang this song on his symphonica tour in her honor. Now they are singing it together and it must be Sublime....

As you delve into the magic of her words, let it work towards your healing of self and preparing you for the continued beauty of life. Embrace nature. Find what you love that brings you joy and helps the community you serve. Dance. Sing. Write. Be one Nature. Embrace your feelings; don't allow them to embrace you.

Every now and then a voice comes along that makes your heart beat faster as you listen, in fact you are forced to sit up and listen, and then you marvel, how can a voice sound that great, that soulful? And you know that the remarkable feeling Amy instils in you is just going to be with you until you die. This is the magical power that Amy had over us, we that loved her and that sweet husky, ethereal, special voice. I will never cease to wonder at how she used to make me feel, how she touched me deeply, and how I lost something in my life when she passed away. I know that I'm not the only one that feels this way. Such a loss, such a special and rare thing was Amy Winehouse.

This song is absolute perfection, if you don't feel anything when you listen to this song you have never been in love, & lost love. It's the kind of thing that makes you shake your head in disbelief, because of the heart felt genius of the lyrics. Just close your eyes & listen, breathe in & take it all in. 2.48 mins that's all it is & her voice, her inflection of the lyrics says everything. All of that album, how many people could be so honest & so personal & at the same time be so relatable
I love her music soo much it’s making me sad and cry right now because she was so adorable and just wanted her boyfriend to be happy and make others happy with her beautiful voice. So much pain it breaks my heart. Love you Amy you beautiful angel in heaven, I know your mind and soul are at peace now👼💜🎶🎶🎶💐I was trying to say she always sad if her boyfriend was happy she was too

Even though Amy was young when she recorded this tune, you'd never know it by listening to her emote. Love can truly be a losing game. Amy had one of the best jazz voices I've ever heard.
Soulful sound from a tortured soul. A feeling that puts goosebumps on my skin. An angelic, fun and mischievous character that could weaken you with her voice. Powerful but fragile, Brilliant but tragic She was a beautiful person no doubt. R.I.P Amy. x

She was so broken and most of her closet people were breaking her down more. The people that were supposed to love her and support her, they did care about her well being. She deserved way better.
Her father failed her, when her 1st manager tried to help and she fired him, the 2nd manager only wanted her to work so he can get that money... And he husband started her on crack so that tells you what kind of person he was....
@@nataliegray5079 I had read an interview with Amy's brother. They were trying to make her go to rehab and Amy said she'd go if her father told her to face she needed to go. He did not. He claimed he knew she wouldn't listen. I'd say he failed big time.
Not only was she an extraordinary singer, no one could deliver a song the way she did, she was also a genius song writer. Amy you live forever in these tracks.
A beautiful exposition of "failed love". Oozing eloquence, rawness and impassioned heat-break. Amy was way ahead of her time. She had a unique authenticity, which carried her in front of her peers. A "one in a million" artist, Rest in peace dear Amy.
Though her time was short, it was meant to be this way. I believe this soul's purpose was to leave us mesmerized, like she came here and said, "Watch this". You know what her life did to us?...I never met her and yet it feels like the saddest loss of my life, while being one of the greatest gifts. I love this soul, and by today's standards for music, I'm so glad she was in my lifetime. Thank you Amy. I am always moved by this song.
This song is just so heart felt and soulful. I wish she could have beat her problems. She deserved better in her life. Still one of my favorites even though it is so sad.
This Song get's under everyone's skin. I don't know how she did this magical thing, she was so talented, so heartbroken and Lonely. Her pain was so visible but no one really helped her. This woman really had it shitty. Was a rebel as a teen, just wanted to sing, wanting to be loved. She was only used in her Management. Whenever i See These old Performances i get so sad because she just really didn't Look good and so unhappy. When she sang this Song once where she was all overcried on stage no one cared about it, her voice was breaking there but everyone just wanted to get the Good out of their money. She was too Real for everyone, for this World, for her family and also for any Man. Her smile was just everything and i can't forgive the people that Took it away from her. I wonder how it would be now if she was here with us. What if she never had bulimia? What if she never met Blake who introduced her into hard drugs and alcohol? Words couldn't describe how much i wish from the bottom of my heart that she deserved a better life. If i was a teen or an adult back then at any of her concerts, i would've gave her the most heartwarming hug she needed. So sad how nobody really cared about her. Loosing All of her totally healthy weight? No one cared. Being drunk and stoned all the Time? No one cared. Crying on stage? No one cared beside maybe her background singers. Naked boob pictures Being Published? No one cared cause she wasn't a Minor anymore. Failed rehab? Who cared? No fucking one. She is one of the examples why i am scared. I love to sing and would love it also to make it my job in the Future but i am terriffied of the idea that i could never find real love or getting addicted to drugs ect. Cause i Don't even Take drugs or smoke or drink. Missing her so much, it's unbelievable. Already 11 years? I hate how no one could save her. If others lifetimes exist i want to be in one where Amy Jade winehouse has a better life as a Singer and gets to grand her wish to be a Mother. Rest in piece darling 🖤 even After tomorrow the Rest will love you.
Some people dont want to be saved ..sadly no matter how much we want and try to save them not sure if no one tried.. the person has to want it aswel...you cant force people..sadly.
Okay guys tell me if you guys get this....... Ok I truly feel like God was actually giving us a taste and an actual feel of what REAL music was like in the 60s you know the feelings you get when you listen to Janis Joplin or Jimi Hendrix. I genuinely feel like who Amy was as a person, the way she dressed, how much pain she had in her voice when she sang, the fact that she didn't even want to be so famous she just wanted to write music, and it's crazy but even the way she passed away it's such a 60s and 70s style. I always tell myself when you hear her music it doesn't sound like a song from this generation it sounds like a timeless classic from 1960 or something. There will never be another like Amy Winehouse but she has opened a door for so many other artists like Lana Del Ray and Adele and I just want to thank you God for letting us feel that real, raw, painful deep 60s feel of music from Amy one last time that we can keep forever and I miss her so much. We love you Amy. R.I.P.
+Melissa Evans I get it. I've always thought that if you took Amy out of the context of the 2000s, she would fit right in with any artist from the 1960s and no one would bat an eye. Her music, her style and even the tragic way she died are all quintessentially 60s.
+Melissa Evans Yeah, and the joke's on me. When I heard this song I could have SWORN it was a remake of a Tony Bennett or Frank Sinatra song. Nope. She wrote it. I can't wait for her to come back again in her next incarnation to make some more retro music that sounds just like "that Amy Winehouse" from the 2000's. :) I vote that she's a famous reincarnated soul from the 60's. My bet would be Janis. Just about the exact, same MO.
+Lauren Blaine BAM ...and, just like her "five story fire", some artists burn so hot when they're here, maybe we all can only stand close to the fire for a short time. Good travels, Amy. Let us know when you're back.
those effortless inflections in the vocals that amplify the sentiments in the lyrics don't seem so effortless when you try to copy them - because *that* is talent, which marks out the few from the many
Almost 12 years since you're gone Amy but your music still lives on and forever will be. Through this masterpiece, you're immortalized and treasured safely. I may not know how you struggled while dealing with fame and heartbreak but you never lose the battle Amy! You are a true victor of your life story. You left a meaningful legacy that will never be erased and will remain in the hearts of every single person you've touched through your music. Shine your light up there! 💫
its not a losing game when you meet the right person, amy only got to meet a drug, not a man, just awalking drug store, but she neede to love herself more ,she neede to do more for herself ,rest in peace amy
She really was a beautiful soul - Inside and out, I swear, ya'll. Just the starting chords of this song gets me very choked up. This was a lost child - I guess that is the only easy way I can think to put it. But she was a BEAUTIFUL performer, and took it VERY seriously. I always say addiction is NO ONE'S fault....But her story makes you think... Its alright, honey, RIP.
To me, it takes tremendous courage to be as introspective and transparent with one's emotions and for that, I salute artists like Amy Winehouse and countless others that cross various musical genres. To sing about these vulnerabilities so candidly and wonder if audiences can relate is profound gift and life-changing. I am grateful for music like this, which makes me hugely empathic towards the struggles of others.
If you look at all the real greats that go young, from Mozart onward, they were always boundary-pushing. Maybe it's an inbuilt thing of self-destruction for the truly greatest artists.
I don't know if this is the official video, but whoever put this together did an excellent job compiling the footage and creating a product that portrays their love for Amy
I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't discover Amy's music and talent until after she died. Why do we spend part of our lives taking for granted someone so amazing while they're around, only to live with regret once they're gone?

Amy Winehouse = 2010. Year now = 2023. All normal people listening Gomunkul 6 now .
It really is 😢❤
Laughed at by the Gods???? Wow...WTF...I'm speechless. Amy is a QUEEN ! Listen to this song AGAIN !!!!!!!!!
First time I've ever heard this while doing some research on her top 5 -10 songs.... OMG.... I cried when she passed. She was a phenom!
So true
Was that?!"
I snapped my neck back and realised, Yes! it was indeed Amy Winehouse!
Aww 😢 this made cry x

Raw, honest and so real.
This song is incredibly haunting to listen to given the story of Amy winehouse, both in her life and in her music.
This song feels like a cry for help of someone who's been used, neglected and manipulated by those closet to them.

Look for the lessons in life. What did you learn about yourself? Yours truly recently learned that we will have three great loves in our lives.
Nature is a great healer. But damn, heartbreak sucks💔😔@@hiramjohnson9681

So true 😞
You're a bit psychic,there.
she was like hendrix. old and torn. and their art was without pretension and straight from the soul.
I vote that she's a famous reincarnated soul from the 60's. My bet would be Janis. Just about the exact, same MO.
+Lauren Blaine BAM ...and, just like her "five story fire", some artists burn so hot when they're here, maybe we all can only stand close to the fire for a short time. Good travels, Amy. Let us know when you're back.
So gorgeous and talented, its so extremely sad how early we lost her 😢
those effortless inflections in the vocals that amplify the sentiments in the lyrics don't seem so effortless when you try to copy them - because *that* is talent, which marks out the few from the many

This was her best because it's the one song the lyrics says it all for love never working out. "Laughed at by the gods" amen to that 🙏
She really was a beautiful soul - Inside and out, I swear, ya'll. Just the starting chords of this song gets me very choked up. This was a lost child - I guess that is the only easy way I can think to put it. But she was a BEAUTIFUL performer, and took it VERY seriously.
I always say addiction is NO ONE'S fault....But her story makes you think...

Still bringing me tears today.....3rd August 2023.....What a beautiful person we have lost ❤
I still miss her . There was and is none like Amy .
*there´s Whitney(💖), but i mUst say ... i lOved Amy MORE❤🔥*
@@enricovankeeken1624 Que gran cantante!!!
Believe me, the most sensitive and talented are always the first to go....
don't think they can tolerate this harsh reality for very long - they live from the heart-
If you look at all the real greats that go young, from Mozart onward, they were always boundary-pushing. Maybe it's an inbuilt thing of self-destruction for the truly greatest artists.
yea, very true words
I don't know if this is the official video, but whoever put this together did an excellent job compiling the footage and creating a product that portrays their love for Amy
It's the official video
It’s is the official video, her best friend helped put it together as she wasn’t able to make it to the shoot
@@michelleperring-cooper3510 so sad 😔
@@michelleperring-cooper3510 yes Tyler James helped as Blake told her not to go to the shoot
This is such a beautifully composed song + video
I'm ashamed to admit that I didn't discover Amy's music and talent until after she died. Why do we spend part of our lives taking for granted someone so amazing while they're around, only to live with regret once they're gone?
me to 😔
me too😔
That’s a shame,I loved her from 2003,she was an amazing singer, and seeing her live made your goosebumps have goosebumps, she was a tortured 😖 soul, bless her,her voice was and still is unique no1 in my eye,s will ever come close in my lifetime, and believe me I love all music 🎶 when it’s good it’s good and you can’t take that away?? Bands, pop groups and singers of all generations since the 1960,s have made history and them songs will last a lifetime!! Today,s music is appalling (most of it) absolutely shocking 😲😲! It very rare with all these talent show,s that you get a good one?? It’s a lot easier to break into music 🎵 with you tube etc, etc, than it was back in the day,you had a number 1 in them decades it meant something and still does!!! That’s why we have classic, and that says it all!! 😘👌🏻♥️♥️♥️♥️
Louise Powell I heard Duffy might make a comeback. She broke out he same year as Adele and imo she’s the only one close to Amy to break out in the noughties. Remember Mercy and Rockferry? Great songs
me too ♡
