The thing with Black Widow is they had a great opportunity to make a really dark spy movie featuring Natasha. But Marvel blew it with the typical save the world plot, it had a good beginning but it really lost all its steam in the middle.
It also doesn't help that by the time we got this movie, Natasha is already dead. So the empathy Marvel/Disney tried to build up for her just didn't really get across.

Hearing Charlie talk about the new Matrix movie sounds like a comedy bit. I haven’t seen the movie yet, but the way Charlie describes it, it sounds like a MadTV sketch.
He’s initial vid of the movie made me expect the worst but it wasn’t that bad. It was shitty with the referencing to itself though making the viewer feel like they are in the matrix kind of like breaking the 5th wall if that even exists 😂
It personally wasn't bad in my opinion. On the other hand, I'm no matrix avid fan but I did watch the trilogy days before Resurrections came out. I think they did a great job with it, but the referencing of itself in the movie was kind of cringe. It's not as action packed as the trilogy, but it's not too bland either. More of a psychological action movie. Would still recommend.

My girlfriend and I did a Conjuring universe movie night for Halloween and after we watched the latest one, I brought it up not even a couple days later that we still had 1 more to go. I literally forgot we had just watched it like 3 days ago and it took me a decent amount of time to remember, since I didn't believe her when she said we had actually watched it... Absolutely forgettable and the two main characters are barely in the damn movie!

I can't be the only one who thinks Halloween kills wasn't that bad, it wasn't good from a story point but it branched out into the supernatural aspect of Michael with him no longer being human and transforming into the embodiment of evil.
How does that make the actual film any better. It was bad. For me it was so bad it was boring. Because it was just dumb and felt very unclever. I've seen many films that do the same thing but better.

Plus at the end of revolutions Neo reset the matrix so they got rid of the green effect. I wish they just made up some new lore like “every time the matrix gets deja vu’d by the architect/analyst it becomes more green” since it was so integral to the overall visual style, but what’s done is done.
They literally say in the movie "warner bros are gonna make this with or without you". If anything, this was quite literally a cry for help or suicide by shitty movie to kill the franchise

Totally agree on Conjuring! What made it worse for me is that I really like The Conjuring 1 and 2, they feel like real horror movies in a world where so many are just chasing trends. This newest one was truly forgettable and I struggle to see how it can be put in the horror genre at all.
It´s strange how most of the nominees had a decent moisture rating when Charlie reviewed them(not the "winners",except for Black Widow). It makes me think that the Moist Meter would probably have an 80% due to the many films/games that got between an 50 and a 70% and were later scolded by the Moist man himself.
The thing is I actually liked matrix: Reloaded, maybe it's aged poorly but I'll take the 50 Mr. Smiths verses Neo fight anyday over the short bursts of super action overload in resurrection.

I remember watching Devil Made Me Do It and being amazed this was the same group of people that did the first two Conjurings (which were absolutely fantastic). It was just such a cliche, hack, lifeless snoozefest.
I’m a huge pussy when it comes to horror movies and The Devil Made Me Do It didn’t scare me a single time. It was a let down cause I wanted to face my fears and watch through a scary movie without pussying out and walking out of the room. I almost did though cause it was so awful and boring.
“The Eternals didn’t do anything awful” uhh the movie heavily implies gravity works differently in the the MCU than in our world at a fundamental level… like we don’t know why items fall in the MCU anymore
I think F9 was so enjoyable to watch and I think the fact that Charlie can remember a whole scene from the movie in pretty vivid detail that all together probably lasted 3 minutes means it shouldn’t be on the list.
Also he said something about Han being revived for the 42 time, which means that he has less grasp on the story and order of events than (im guessing) me or you, so he probably didn’t pick up on a lot of the references and fast is one of those series where if you’re not a fan boy, coming in at a random movie can be confusing

All they had to do, was not change taskmaster's motives or power, just keep him as a killer for hire but make the daughter a new brainwashed villian it's really not hard, that way they could've even brought task master back occasionally as an extra disruption for the heros

My girlfriend and I did a Conjuring universe movie night for Halloween and after we watched the latest one, I brought it up not even a couple days later that we still had 1 more to go. I literally forgot we had just watched it like 3 days ago and it took me a decent amount of time to remember, since I didn't believe her when she said we had actually watched it... Absolutely forgettable and the two main characters are barely in the damn movie!
Sucks since the first 2 are really good.

I can't be the only one who thinks Halloween kills wasn't that bad, it wasn't good from a story point but it branched out into the supernatural aspect of Michael with him no longer being human and transforming into the embodiment of evil.
I literally had so much fun watching it. I get the movie’s goofy and over the top, but I think that’s why I like it so much.
I liked it also. After the first Halloween, I'm mainly there for the legendary screen prescence of Michael Myers.
How does that make the actual film any better. It was bad. For me it was so bad it was boring. Because it was just dumb and felt very unclever. I've seen many films that do the same thing but better.

I wish they just made up some new lore like “every time the matrix gets deja vu’d by the architect/analyst it becomes more green” since it was so integral to the overall visual style, but what’s done is done.
They literally say in the movie "warner bros are gonna make this with or without you". If anything, this was quite literally a cry for help or suicide by shitty movie to kill the franchise

As an MK fan im atleast pleased they were somewhat faithful to the lore, really hope they get quality editors and choreography for the next movie.

Conjuring 3 was actually a recreation of the events at Tiananmen Square in 1989, where nothing happened.
The only thing I would say I "disagree" with is I think eternals is worse than black widow so it deserves to be on the list if black widow is.
Eternals wasnt bad. Imo it was ok, they just tried to jump into to much to fast and didnt flesh out characters.

I think F9 was so enjoyable to watch and I think the fact that Charlie can remember a whole scene from the movie in pretty vivid detail that all together probably lasted 3 minutes means it shouldn’t be on the list.
Also he said something about Han being revived for the 42 time, which means that he has less grasp on the story and order of events than (im guessing) me or you, so he probably didn’t pick up on a lot of the references and fast is one of those series where if you’re not a fan boy, coming in at a random movie can be confusing

I'm confused why he put matrix at 5 and Black Widow at 3. Matrix ruined a franchise and retconned the story to make it worse and was actively cringe worthy. Black widow was a "competent movie" though generic i wasn't sitting there dreading every second.
All they had to do, was not change taskmaster's motives or power, just keep him as a killer for hire but make the daughter a new brainwashed villian it's really not hard, that way they could've even brought task master back occasionally as an extra disruption for the heros
