- Hello everyone, it’s me Focus! Today we'll talk about the undervolting of a GPU. I'll show you in detail how to work with MSI Afterburner, namely the Frequency/Voltage Curve Editor.
❄️ Undervolting is a decrease in the voltage of a videocard under load, while increasing the core frequency.
I'll also tell you about the pros and cons of undervolting, problems you may face and how to solve them!
➕ Pros:
1) Reduces the power consumption of the video card
2) Temperatures decrease
3) The squeak of throttles decreases
4) Reduces the noise from the cooling system
➖ Cons:
1) After turning on the computer / laptop, the frequency / voltage curve breaks
2) Games can crash (Unreal Engine)
3) Games can crash when using ray tracing and undervolting
