All Kordes behave great in my humid 7b climate, we get lots of Black spot, and Kordes like Poseidon, Plum Perfect, Quick silver and my favorite South Africa, they don't get it, they are blooming machines, and I just can't get enough of them!
I agree with Iceberg and blackspot. I bought an inexpensive bare root Iceberg last Spring in a big box store, thinking it would be vigorous and free blooming. It performed very poorly and was hard hit by blackspot. I dug it out and tossed it in the burn pile. I also have Twilight Zone, a Grandiflora. It is a vigorous grower and lots of blooms, but it was completely defoliated by blackspot early on this season, and it never fully recovered from that. I'm going to give it one more chance next year. Some of my best performers this year were Tranquility (Austin), Sophy's Rose (Austin), The Fairy (Polyantha), Graham Thomas (Austin), Marchioness of Londonderry (Tea), and Zephirine Drouhin (Bourbon climber) and a pink Kordes Hybrid Tea that I've forgotten the name of.
You have a great garden! As for roses I've grown many especially David Austins but my all around favorite is Belinda's Dream. Medium pink, Disease free, great scent, big flowers...the whole package. Those are the only kind I want. Thanks for sharing gardening videos 😊🌻
I love my Apricot Drift Rose. The smell is fantastic and no blackspot and or pest issues. Also, I’m trying the Lavender Crush rose. I was attracted to this rose due to its smell. I paired it with my sweet olive shrub. The scent is awesome!
I’m also in the SE and have seen the same problem with Rio Samba and Vavoom roses which were also developed by Weeks. Also, the blooms fall so quickly. I’ve had good results with Kordes Plum Perfect. The blooms lasted up to three weeks, especially in the spring flush. It did go dormant in July and August. I grow a lot of old tea roses which I purchased from ARE. Many are similar to the Knockouts with their profuse blooms. And if your going for blooms, I adore the drift rose named “Sweet Drift.” Its a beautiful carnation pink and so elegant in its own way. Well, I could go on an on about roses. Thank you for your insight.
Please answer!! I just purchased an Easter Basket Floribunda. I'm unsure where to plant it. I have a spot but its shade 3/4s of the day and only gets full sun in the morning, if even that. There's a spot thats gets full sun in my yard. I have grape vines on a trellis I've been wanting to tear out but do the Easter Baskets get big enough to grow on a trellis or will it just look silly? Its so gorgeous I want to show it off in a place where people can see it. Please help!
Plant the rose in full sun where people can see it. This will save you time and frustration from planting the Rose in shade. I hope this helps. Save the spot in the shade for a hydrangea
@@ColorfulGardener So it would look ok against the trellis? Which is the sun spot in my yard. It's homemade from someone YEARS ago and isn't the normal crisscross pattern and it's over 5 feet tall. I don't want it to look silly. How tall do they normally get? I thought of planting it along the one side of my porch, which is about 3 feet high, but with no railing I don't want it growing over and jabbing anyone. I'm probably overthinking on this but I want it to last and look good
I am in love with my Hot Cocoa!! It's a floribunda and it blooms year round (I'm in south Florida so my main blooming season is winter). This beauty blooms all summer and can really stand up to our hot, humid, and rainy summers! I wish I had 50 of these heat loving bad girls!! ❤ Thanks for the tips! I think I'll try the white tea rose you recommended.

Monsieur Tillier is a great rose.
I love roses but they don't love me. I have such a hard time keeping roses beautiful😥

I would say 3-4 feet so far mine has grown like a shrub. I mean if you don’t cut it back it will keep growing upwards like a climber
