This is awesome, I'm starting my first seaon in Rugby Union so this is very informative and perfect for me to implement alongside our pre-season training. Thanks Coach
Gave the challenge a go! Keeping all those different muscles engaged consistently over the 30 seconds was the most difficult part. My muscles were ok, plenty of shaking towards the end. My hips flexors and the calf on the planted leg were definitely the most fatigued. I have not done much work for either recently, so I'm not surprised. Is that an exercise you would look to increase the duration of? Thank you for the challenge! Love the videos!
Thanks Martin - glad to hear you had a bash at the challenge. I wouldn’t necessarily increase the duration of the exercise. I would look to become “comfortable” holding that position and use it either as part of a warm-up routine, or at the end of a session every so often. Lying Banded Hip Flexor Pulls are a great way to specifically strengthen the hip flexors - I might do a video on “hip care” or something similar soon.
Peter, check out my preseason for rugby video. I talk about splits across three different types of programmes. There’s also a full 6 week program explained in that video. 🙋♂️
This video highlights some great strength exercises. In terms of a session or programming, you can check out a number of my preseason or workout examples to get a gauge on how you can bring it all together. 🤝

Good question. We do have those exercises in our programme. However they’re more accessory exercises that will support the main exercises highlighted in this video.
I dont even play rugby but this is awesome content!
Thanks buddy 🙌

Glad it was helpful!
gave the challenge a go, a lot of muscles had to be tensed up to keep me from failing, but those 30 seconds seemed like an eternity haha
🤣🤣 You’re not alone in that feeling! So simple, yet still a challenge 🙌

@@CoachFmt Thanks man. I'll give the banded pulls a try too. Hip care is not something I have ever considered!

Bench Row always good 🙌
Thanks alot for the video❤
Glad you enjoyed it.
Thanks for these videos, what training splits are best for pre-season training??
Upper body one day,
lower body next day??

How many sets should we be aiming for for all the exercises?
My position is Second Row.
That will more depend on the phase and block of training you are in.
Checkout my preseason for rugby video for lots of details around that 🙌
I don't know if it's the years of acro but the challenge wasn't really that bad for me
I would imagine so. That’s ace though!
However, like I said, it’s so simple yet it can be quite difficult for players the first few times they try it.
Would you do this as a single workout or split into separate days with other exercises?

Hi mate, if you watch my preseason for rugby video you’ll have a really good idea of what you need to do. Including a programme.

💪
why you don't do the curl bicept, dips and push ups?
Good question. We do have those exercises in our programme. However they’re more accessory exercises that will support the main exercises highlighted in this video.
Do you do all this in one training session?
@@fukufuku69 no mate, just some staple exercises.
No problem with the test on the left leg
Excellent 🙌 And the right?
