For me, McQueen is a wild card. Yes, he's averaging a goal per game at the time of his injury, HOWEVER, half of those came on opening night. Once he returns, hopefully he can show consistency and not be a streaky scorer.
Really nice list there! Sad to see my boys Justin Carbonneau & Milton Gästrin aren’t on it but I really love your takes on Desnoyers and Eklund. Hoping Hagens turns things around and goes #1
The top 4 in this class are top notch. Then I find it takes a big drop and its not as deep as last year. I think a lot of people in like the mid first to early 2nd are all similar in skill, really just hairs at that point. Also the drop off from Schaeffer to the whoever you consider the next defenseman is HUGE imo. Schaeffer is tiers above most of them. He looks like he is gonna be a stud
So fun to watch! Especially at the CHL USA Prospects Challenge...love to watch him play really well with/against the Top Prospects of this draft...or most of them. lol
No Carter Bear in the top 16? I have a feeling that kid goes high. He’s like a bat out of hell on the forecheck and his intensity is unmatched. I think scouts are gonna love him on draft day. Defence is an issue but he will develop.
Blackhawks should have taken a forward at 2 last year and taken B. Fiddler this year for this draft. Also in the hopes we would have another high draft pick top 5 maybe for this year. I still think Levshunov is going to be a bust
Watching tape on Levshunov. And he is mediocre. Don't see what the scouts were thinking. Slow. Bad awareness. Jumping in and getting burned is not a offensive Defenceman. 13:18
@ I’ve been saying this. The man wants to be the 4th forward and completely disregards his responsibility. Makar jumps in when he knows it’s a good time. If they think Levshunov is going to be a Makar he is far from it. Man will be a 40 point a season guy maybe. Hes a defense liability and is getting torched by AHL players. I don’t have high hopes or expectations from him. Considering we’re the worst 5 on 5 offensive team in the league I thought our choice would be to draft high offensive talent to put alongside bedard. Guess not. Hope we have a high draft pick this year so we can get someone to help.
Waw.... insane rankings ! Even if I disagree about a bunch of your takes I highly respect your convictions about those kids. I had few chokes like Martone out of top 3, Shaefer 1st overall, Hensler top 10 and Frondell over Eklund but still love you're express your truly own rankings.
Thanks! These will change all season long. It's a tough draft to formulate...especially this early. Need more live viewings. I'm going to CHL/USA prospect game tomorrow so probably will have a different opinion after game lol
I would rather the habs get Martone . He checks all the boxes of what habs need to keep the rebuild moving . Size , speed , good hands and IQ . Him , Hage and Demidov on the same line would be insane in a couple of years .
@@pmonty420 I think what we really need to be competitive is a number one center right now we have enough d's and wingers I can bet you 100 that the habs are gonna target a center especially since dach is not playing well
@ I tend to agree with that but I would still try to get Martone since the top ranked centers a fairly small in the upcoming draft . Hage might become our first line center . Fingers crossed lol
@@LaurierGagnon There are no big physical centers worthy of a top 5 pick in the upcoming draft . Micheal Hage could become that big #1 center in 2 years .
Really hope Chicago trades into the top 16 with leafs pick come draft day. It seems that you can get good value in the top 20 this year. Regardless of what else happens, we need to leave the draft with Martone or maybe Misa
I like Schaefer, Misa and Hagens but unless Montreal wins the lottery, we will not see anyone of them in Montreal. Montreal will likely finish 5th to 7th. The 5 teams to pick first at the 2025 draft might be in the same order as the 2024 draft...time will tell !!!
@mederecord7991 San Jose Chicago, Anaheim and Columbus will be there again top4. Lets not forget that teams like Pittsburg, Calgary, St-Louis, Nashville and Philadelphia could possibly sink very quickly in the standings right after the trade deadline. So it is still very possible that Montreal ends up 7th at the draft...time will tell !!! deadline.
Hagens is no-brainer for me. Hockey IQ is through to roof, he's already showing signs of an elite two-way forward and that's not mentionning the best skating technique i've seen in a prospect. WE NEED HAGENS
I’ve seen him 3 times in person, hasn’t looked like a #1 pick yet. Unreal skating, heads on a swivel, but a lot of his shifts you barely notice him out there
a d man is not going first. and misa has way more g's than hagens so stop with the hagens love. misa has picked it up being the guy now with nhl drafted guys gone. misa should be no. one.
@@JM-gj7de Should I remind you that size barely matters in today's NHL ? He's bigger / taller than Perreault and Leonard who are seen as future NHL impact players. Carter Bear cracking the top 10 come draft day bet the house. 20 goals 41 points in 23 WHL games so far this season.

1. Michael Misa
2. Mathew Schaefer
3. James Hagens
4. Porter Martone
5. Roger McQueen
