Mont Saint-Michel is a rocky tidal island in Normandy, France. In the video I climb up Grande Rue, lined with 15th and 16th century houses, to reach the abbey on top. Mont Saint-Michel is the second most popular tourist attraction in France.

I went in september, 2014. Fantastic, wonderful. !!!
I once visited this beautiful place, having never heard of it. I found myself visiting this incredible place due to a series of events that took place during the month of June, 1983.
Adrian and I had recently celebrated our 18th birthday, and we had booked a camping holiday near to the French, Brittany town of Cancale.
The day of departure from BIRMINGHAM coach station, saw us aboard a double decker coach, we sat aloft. On the journey out of the city, a housing estate captured my interest. The estate lay to the side of the motorway, I saw a social club, and a small shopping precinct and a secondary school perched on a hill overlooking the estate. I particularly zoomed in on particular homes.
We arrived at the camp site, located on the outskirts of Cancale. It came to our attention that there was a group of school girls on an end of term trip. They were from Hodge Hill Girls School, Hodge Hill, BIRMINGHAM. They had arrived in two mini vans, so there may have been approximately 20 in their party.
The girls were 15 and 16 years of age. Natural instincts kicked in, and the game was on.
Adrian and I somehow got invited by the teachers, to go on a day trip with them all. We travelled at the very rear of one the mini buses in a couple of spare seats. We had no idea at this point where we were heading. We supplied the teachers with Cassettes, and were soon travelling through the French country side listening to Japan.
We eventually arrived at Mon´t San Michael, and took in all the place had to offer in the company of our new friends. We all travelled to the highest point and ate packed lunches.
I can still visualize where we sat to eat, and with whom I sat. I sensed that something very synchronistic was taking place.
The holiday ended, my friend and I returned home. Part 2 of this story commenced after receiving phone call, from one of the delightful young ladies. I later learned that the housing estate that had caught my attention was home to most of the girls and the secondary school on the hill was their school.

Indeed it has a "commune" (town), albeit a small one, legal status.

Looks like a highly interesting place and the camera work is as usual top quality. However, as with most other Hoosier Tim Travel videos there are not a single piece of info telling the viewer what he is looking at - not even subscripts at the bottom of each scene. So, the educational value of the video = 0. Please try to improve on this.

les hotels, commerces et restaurants ont deja existes sur le mont dans le moyen age. Les villageois du mont gagnaient leur vie avec les pelerins.
+seibelstein Certe, mais tout ceux que je connais sont d'accord pour dire que ces magasins de souvenirs qui debordent sur les ruelles embouteillées du site, sont loin d'être agréables à l'oeil. En plus ils vendent les mêmes articles qu'il y a 30 ans, lol.
Tout a fait d accord! C est une foire et plus un site de pèlerinage !
