Just finished this podcast and it was awesome. I'd vote for this guy in a heartbeat, we need more people like him to be in congress. Typically I despise anything political because its all so divisive, however I was pleasantly surprised to hear Tony's open mindedness and common sense approach to all of the topics discussed. I would have not even known that this guy existed if it were not for this podcast, so thank you andy and please keep doing exactly what you are doing.
Known Tony Cowden since 2008. All I can say is he is a very determined individual that will get the job done. If you’re in NC vote for this man. I promise no other person will work harder.
Really enjoy listening to these two veterans talk about their experiences. I have nothing but respect for them or anyone else who stepped into that arena.
I love them both, but Tim has some really wonky gun control ideas. Regardless, his skill set and PatMac’s are something I’m always interested in learning about.
Watched it all. Hope he does well and doesn't forget the mission once in. One question I would like to ask any politician is "what is the social contract". To me that defines the purpose of government.
A lot of people are waiting for SF guys to breach and make entry into politics and fix the direction are country is going. My step father was SOG in Vietnam he hated communism and he would be go out of his mind seeing it happening to are country. RIP Richard Telly. Thanks for having these incredible people Andy 👊🏻
So glad I saw a recent podcast with Tony but would’nt listen to it because of the hosts ridiculous amount of self advertisements. Did a search and found an excellent new host to listen to and still got a very enjoyable and entertaining listen to Tony! Thanks guys!
I like how Andy tries to act like he wants to separate himself from the military. He seems to enjoy having conversations with the vets more than anything or anyone else.
28:09 he mentions the Afghanis had good days, too. One other thing to remember, the Afghani people have been going to war since before America was in diapers. They are the DEFINITION of a warrior culture.
Holy shit bro, I knew Seth. I used to drive him to the gym when we were teenagers. He was a year or two younger then me. It’s wild to hear you mention him. He’s from Syracuse. I thought he got in some trouble while a seal, no? Not that it matters. I remember him as just a young kid wanting to get after it and smash weights. I last ran into him 21 years ago and he looked jacked af. A really great dude.
Damnit all Andy Stumpf! You had better not be posing with that Maiden shirt. Hollow talk because seriously what can I do living in the freezing Canuckistan. Love the content sir, UP THE IRONS \m/
The issues your guest described in losing the war due to the politician generals and colonels is exactly what happens in ANY large organization. I’ve seen it firsthand in a large Fortune 500 corporation.
guys I am from Italy , i haven't served , I actually have spent a decade doing psychedelic and girls on a far away island in thailand. I had different experience than yours in different places. that being said , people like you are the only hope for a rotten society and a dying world. And I believe people like you should be the only one to have the power to decide about whether or not go to war since you are the ones who have experienced how terrible the consequences of war are.
We enjoy #VoteByMail in Oregon. Other states use this, it should be nationwide. Secured by nature of being hand marked paper ballot, physically reviewable. No polling stations or scheduling conflicts, time to research candidates and issues. Voting machines are unnecessary and complicated for simple procedure.
You really hurt my feelings, I have to go to counseling......at the gun range with a beer. Thank you, guys. Said the same things about the Asians you said about the Afghans, humans are humans, animals are not. Bravo
TONY FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!! Now who would he have in his CABINET 🗄 🇺🇸 THANK GOODNESS FOR PEOPLE LIKE HIM AND ALL OF THE OTHERS that Are in this shit !!!!!
Because of the intense operational tempo, not to mention the specificity and necessary intense pre deployment work-ups, SOF units deploy for 3-6 months, with much less turnaround time in between. When I was in Batt, if I managed 10 days leave per year, it was a lot.- RLTW
I’m not sure if they still do it but my school offered hunters education courses to our middle school and personally I think it’s a good thing to offer
Best quote EVER: "We are great at war. We don't have a fukin' clue what to do afterwards." Runner up: "War has always been about conquest. We actually just suck at it. If we were actually an imperial power, we would be pumping oil out of Iraq, and we all would be payin" a dollar a gallon."
As Jesse Ventura once said, “Campaigning for political office is the fun part but then you have to do the job” So said the unqualified, one time governor in Minnesota.
Lol- you do know the Princess Bride was a spoof film, making fun of fairytale lovestory slop, right? We have more fun in SOF units than anywhere I've been before or since.
@@Misdby1 These days, I'm lucky if I get half of what people are saying. Just got diagnosed with a TBI related cognitive deficit. It seems that the "with your injuries, you have a chance of dementia later in life" has gone into not-so-later in life. It's either FTD or CTE- either way, prognosis not great. So if I didn't catch your meaning, I humbly apologize.
Excellent... I wish I was in his district I would definitely vote for him. I just don't think it matters how many votes he receives, but only who counts the vote. That's where I'm at. Definitely need people like him leading our children's futures... Keep breaking down the walls with truth
It's very easy to feel like this country is in it's death spiral, but then you hear about this guy running for Congress, and all the other names he mentioned, maybe there is a chance!
Good luck with your political career! About time the SF, team guy's are getting involved in the political arena to fix America from within the military community
I think that term limits should absolutely be an amendment to the constitution. Personally I think that 3 terms for the president, 2 for the senate and 6 for the house. 12 years for each is fair. I disagree with age limits however. If someone is capable and the best person for the job they should absolutely be able to hold office. However if they are a cognitive trainwreck like what we're dealing with today they should be nowhere near public office.
We called the Carl G... the charlie guts ache. Suppressors in Australia are illegal for normal people to own/use, you have to be a professional contract shooter, and even then, not all of them can get one.
Because they have legalized weed they have been able to make it more powerful which is now making it addictive. It is the ability to improve the growing of it.
Just wanted to say loved the podcast as always but I live in Arkansas which is the belt buckle of the Bible Belt and we legalized marijuana “with prescription” two or three years ago. Also the idea of education on firearms totally agree the schools in my area have sleet shooting and archery teams we didn’t when I was in school but for the past five or so years it’s a state wide sport now.
Most Americans can barely afford ammunition. Even if prohibition was lifted, the average person couldn’t afford Javelins or M203. So few people can afford the Barrett M107, let alone the ammo.
Being asymmetric is the solution for politics too. We are crystallised in a system that creates two big folders . Opposing each other . Left right, Beatles Rolling Stones, pro vax no wax and so on. The coexistence of the opposite is key to this system . Society is divided in two. Dividi et impera. You never hear something so simple truth and effective by politicians. Being republican and having an open mind on subjects like abortion , weed , I would add psilocybin, it’s an example of an asymmetric approach to topics that are of concern to all of us
I love hearing the joy in Andy’s voice when he talks about shooting javelins at people.

Can’t lie those things look like they’re fun af to shoot. They’re so accurate!

Really enjoy listening to these two veterans talk about their experiences. I have nothing but respect for them or anyone else who stepped into that arena.
Thank you gentlemen. Excellent interview! Thankful for Veteran’s getting into the arena! 🇺🇸
Tim Kennedy and PatMac are must have guests
I love them both, but Tim has some really wonky gun control ideas. Regardless, his skill set and PatMac’s are something I’m always interested in learning about.
Tim was on in the earlier episodes. PatMac is just awesome. His episode on Jocko’s was awesome

Same thing with my grandfather's
Google how many former SOGs running for office in 2022. There are quite a few.
Badass
A heck of a lot completely missed the mark over the vax mandates. I gained respect for many, but lost faith in far more.

74 minutes in and I really love this guys perspective. Love what you're doing Andy!
So TRUE on the assessment of Congress and the War Powers Act.
Always a pleasure to listen to. Cleared hot ftw. Id like to hear tim kennedy with mike from fieldcraft together on the show
Super pumped for this. Tony and Andy in one room 💥💥💥
I like how Andy tries to act like he wants to separate himself from the military. He seems to enjoy having conversations with the vets more than anything or anyone else.
Great podcast. Thanks for taking the time to make this happen.
Yet another great episode! Keep up the great content! Suggestion: Bring on Devon Larrett! Canadian JTF2 and arm wrestling savage!
Dev was on one of these ex military podcasts and for the life of me I cannot remember who's, I think maybe the Sean Ryan show
Excellent 👍 content. Vote for Tony C. In north Carolina
We absolutely need military veterans in our Congress. Last time I checked, positions in Congress are to serve the people.
North Carolina vote this man into office!!!
I would vote for him. Or those like him. It'd be nice to have some genuine candidates who aren't part of the corrupt system we have.
Iron Maiden Tees suit you Andy!!! You should rock those more often!
Saw Tony on the Shawn Ryan Show and had to come here for more! Great stuff
"Can I have a javelin?" Andy and Tony go down a progression that made me ask myself: how far is too far?
I don't give out atta boys often but the Iron Maiden t-shirt deserves an atta boy
I knew it…A Dude smart as you had to be a Maiden fan!🤘🏻🎸 Luv and always look forward to your podcasts!!
