I supported mine with a small chuck of wood with some rubberized foam glued to it for the radio to rest on and take up any vibration. They are good quality fairings. I got the 6" X 9" speaker openings because I think 6X9s would sound better (and they do sound great!) I think I got the same radio you have which is just a cheap marine grade stereo, but it sound fantastic without any amp. Plenty loud for out on the highway at any speed!
Nice thing is most (if not all) the fairings from USA Trailer Store are compatible with windshields for HD Street Glide 1996-2013. So you have a huge choice of windscreen. When I had my VTX I installed the Flat Top Recurve windscreen from Long Ride Shields. Super quality screen.
Absolutely the cleanest wiring install I have ever seen. Props for that. The only thing I would have done differently is to have one of the power/accessory wires(usually yellow) on a constant 12 volts to hold the station memory. Thanks for sharing the installation process with us.
What size are your bars? I have a vstar 1300 and I want to put 14" to 16"bars. I have the same wing and sound system but haven't installed yet. Could I still install with the size bars I want?

I rerouted the throttles down the right side of tank, instead of left side. also i straightened the hardline part of the clutch line that runs behind the radiator. I still wanna replace the clutch line, just havent found the right one.
How do you put the brackets on the bike it self? Mine didn't come with Brackets on it. Bought used ones . Used my Memphis shade brackets and spacers. Seems kind of flimsy. I bought your same setup with the stereo system in already sounds great. I live in Wisconsin and have a trip to Kentucky don't want to lose the fairing on the trip.

Did you do anything different to your headlight for this install, Looks like on the Harleys the headlight mounts to the front of the fairing, but these seem to work more like a fancy windshield and are independent of the headlight. I ask because I am working to convert my 07 Royal Star Venture to accept a batwing for the RSTD because my Million dollar /part Clarion is starting to die and I want an aftermarket solution. So I have been sourcing the necessary parts to make this work. I have just about everything except I'm not sure about the headlight mounting.
I'm Looking for a used cruising bike, how do you like the Royal Star, are parts relatively easy to find for the v4? I have spotted several in my area, from $3800 to $4800, with as much as 40k on mileage
Looks good is the fairing just gel coat finish i ordered one with 2, 6x9 spaekers in it but the finish on the gel coat is horrible, gonna have to have a body shop paint it to smooth it out
@@TheVeroneeLife I bought my crash bar from Baron Customs. It's a nice big, sturdy bar. It has seen use a couple times and preformed admirably. I think it's kind of ugly though. I think the bars from a Silverado will fit but don't quote me. I'm too cheap to test it.
Great Video with attention to details! I have a 2001 RSTD. I checked out the site you mentioned where you picked up your batwing and it say starting at year 2005. Did you run into that and it still fit your 2000?

How secure is it when mounted? Mine came with a no name batwing on it, and it squeaks, creaks and shakes all over.

Headlight is mounted separate from the fairing.
What do you have them brackets screwed into on the bike? I just got one for my Yamaha but don’t think I have anything to connect it to the bike

They were fine when I put them in and they work for almost 9 or 10 months until I sold the bike they were working great and the antenna work just fine

Great bikes, several fb groups out there with people that have bunch of parts. I would own another, gonna stick with Harley for now
Why drill in reverse? Is that a fiberglass thing? And great vid! Super helpful. I'll tackle my install in a week or two on my 01 roadstar 1600

cmr172 only had to replace 1 brake line. Got the kit for that from tcbros.com
