Love mine. I think this hand gun is one of the very best hand gun purchases a person can make. Bear gun, Hunting gun, massive stopping power and at greater distance than most other hand guns. I was shooting from a mountain down across a valley at a target 158 yards away and everyone there couldn't believe that we were point of aim, point of impact at 25 yds and pretty much right on at 158 yds. Everyone was shocked. I recently picked up the FN510 tactical which i really like as well, especially the ergonomics of that hand gun but if my life is on the line in bear country, i want max velocity and the G40 is my go to.
Sir, I have been looking at this Glock, the Sig P320 XTEN, the Springfield XD, etc., trying to decide on a 10 mm pistol. Of all of the YT videos I have watched, this is by far the best. Informative, factual, no stupid music intro, well articulated and full of detail. Thank you very much.
I just got my G40 today. I was afraid that rear adjustment tool was part of the gun that fell off; thank you for explaing that piece and providing relief.
Really like mine! I installed an Alpha Wolf barrel, McNally trigger assembly, and Ameriglo suppressor height sights in my G40 gen4. Perfect bear gun after those mods!
( Wordy and intersting talk here ) This gun and its 6 inch barrel present is not only one of the most beautiful magazine pistols to have poly frames. But its caliber in 10mm is also vastly more dangerous than anything 9mm. This caliber can fire grains weights similar to most 45 acp rounds. Where 1-2 shots of 45 acp is equal to half a 20 round 9mm magazine roughly shot at the torso. While that the 10mm is about 20% more energy than 45acp loads for hottest loads, and can fire rounds above 150+ grains at almost 1600 FPS in this pistols longslide configuration. No current 9mm pistol can do such a thing as this too, even as a longslide as well.
Lastly, glock 17s, like most 9mm pistols have only 17 shot magazines verse the standard 15 round 10mm magazines of the G40 longslide. ( I also love how glocks are an Austrian Pistol by design and origin. That as you see Austria on the magazines as well ) ( This gun is one of the handful of magazine pistols I would consider worthy of my attenton )
I had one, and traded it in instantly when they came out with the more tradition Glock design. The catch on everything... And they ain't aren't a needed feature.
@@joeytomato I still have mine although Glock has notified those who own those early 21SF's that the ambi-magazine release may have to be made to a one sided magazine release by Glock free of charge if your Glock 21SF fail to release the magazine when depressed. Also this is reflected in the fact that the current Glock 21 magazines "DO NOT" lock into the Glock 21SF due to the changes Glock had made to the magazine release (no longer ambi, just one sided) and the older 21SF magazines (I have 15 of them) are no longer manufactured....Again just FYI
I really like my Glock 40 mos, I carry it in a chest holster and take it with me anytime I’m in the woods up here in N. Idaho. Very good shooting gun with that long slide….
Hey Don! Quick q, assuming you get brownies up there and are going hardcast penetrators have you swapped out the barrel or kept it stock? I know Glock says that's a no go, but trying to see if it's overblown or not
How is more slots added capability? Anyone who makes an attachment that's worth owning, makes one specifically for the Glock... and you're only going to run one device at the time... There's just no reason for having multiple snag points like other guns with full 1913 rails on the front. Seems like a flex to me. Glock doesn't need more slots, because they know someone will accommodate their design. That said... I own a bunch of Glocks, and the 40 is hands down my favorite to shoot.
