Question, did it come with instructions? Is the cutout in the middle of the fiber board insert supposed to face down so it goes around the C clip?

I did not know there were instructions when I received the rotary switch and shim. The facing of the shim is important which I did not pay attention in the video. I will add the link to the description here. Thanks for your comment.

Thanks Akira, I was already working on a video and that’s when I saw yours in the search. I didn’t know they had instruction, but mine came with it installed also. I’ll add that link to my video also.
But I’m confused, the instructions say the round cutout area of the disk should facing “UP”, but I thought this was for the c-clip (e-clip) according to Dave switch endurance testing video. If the cutout is facing “up” then I think as UP facing the ceiling or sky. Or maybe when it says “UP it means facing “UP” to the top (front) of the meter despite the meter being face down on the desk when it’s apart? That part seems confusing now. I wish it just said the cutout goes around the c-clip to be clearer if that’s the way it goes.
The instructions also missed mentioning the clip to disassemble the meter, that’s an important part.

I agree about the official instruction which mentions "Round Recess on the Shim must be facing upward." is bit confusing. The round recess of the shim should be facing the c/e-clip when installing it to prevent the shim making too much pressure for the rotary contact to the PCB. Removing the c/e-clip is important. I used the slotted scree driver inserting the slit while holding the clip with my finger and rotated the driver to remove it. I tried to see you video on the link. The link seems to be not working right now.

RW-RW-RW I believe I removed the video, by this time all new meters come with the fix. Also other info in the video was irrelevant since the firmware kept changing. Every time I started a review something changed with the firmware and my results were different. I guess I just kind of gave up on reviewing this meter.

If I can hide it from the wife, maybe I'll get one by years-end (but not before Joe puts one through his bank of tests).

When I saw the PCB, the 121GW is made for electronics with CATIII. I have a feeling that it will have difficulty sustaining Joe's transient test compare to other reputable brands with CATIV which also targeting the electrician industry. Well, the 121GW is mach smaller size :)
