I love videos like this everything I buy that can be customized/upgraded I usually upgrade them in anyway I can I don’t like being like everyone els and I love tinkering with things, what you’ve done to the reel should make a lot of difference my cheap baitcasters have bearings in the reel knobs and spin by flicking them a lot lot longer then my curado dc I can’t believe that a Shimano curado dc doesn’t have bearings in the reel knobs, when I watched this video and seen them bushings instead of bearings my mouth dropped and I said to myself you got to be kidding me a 250$ reel doesn’t have bearings in the knob
Yep. My memory is getting fuzzy as I get older but I THINK the JDM version of this reel has ONE bearing per knob and ONE bushing. They only half upgraded.
plastic bushing last better, especially in saltwater. changing bushings over ball bearings is waist of your time and money. higher grade of spool bearings is beneficial.
@@allenuconn There isn't much to replacing the spool bearings (well the one inside the DC part is a PITA), but I don't have any of those in stock. Say $25 plus the cost of bearings.
Great video. I have a Curado and a Curado DC and am interested having them serviced and possibly upgraded. How do I contact you or your business? I would love to have you work on my reels!!!
so be honest are these bearings an actual upgrade from the curado dc ones? you would think an almost 300$ reel would have good bearings i love my reel i dont wanna downgrade them
I suggest you watch it again. I never replace any bearings, I replace bushings. Ie, I take out plastic bushings and install metal bearings in their place.
I have this same reel and I bought it a few days ago and I noticed there was a bit of in and out movement with the handle I was wondering if you noticed the same thing and it was normal or if bass pro sold me a broken reel
I'm not the right person to ask, I think a 3# trigger is too much in a hunting rifle and a lot of people would consider that unsafe. I have had a lot of repeat customers if that means anything.
My guess? So it doesn't compete with their higher end reels. Look at the older Curado 200BSF and the Chronarch 100SF. The Ch has a worm gear bearing and the Curado doesn't.
That makes so much since what you just said, by adding little things like them bearings maybe a couple different Key parts and seeing that the curado dc is 250$ and they have the Antares and the Metanium that’s 500+ dollars they can’t make a reel for that price and have everything the others have because no one would buy the higher end casting reels because you could get it all in the curado dc for 250$
Nice job but unnecessary the bushing will never wear out and will never tust likely why they do it and these bearings over time will corrode and get sluggish if not kept clean
Thank you for being so thorough !
I bought the Curado dc in July. I’m paranoid I’m gonna scratch it and my K so I am using my Tatula 200 now
Ahhhhh .... the smell of Aqua Shield in the morning!! Smells like Victory!!!!

@@Drundel How much do you charge to upgrade spool bearings in a lefthand Curado DC?

awesome job !!!! you help me at tremendously
Glad it helped you.
Super upgrade sir, I'm from India and would like to know from where did u buy these small bearings I too like to have some.
Lots of places have them. Boca, eBay, Amazon, just have to search for them.
Great job
Do you know how many millimeters the main gear is?
I do not.

In and out as in you were pulling the handle perpendicular away from the reel?
Yes sir
@@cadengrant5189 Mine has no play from the handle to the body of the reel. A little on the knobs
Mine has just a hair bit of play where your talking about but not much at all
Did bass pro replace it? Or was it fine? I am in the exact same position as you and not sure what to do
What drag washers are in the curado dc? Would it be worth upgrading those
No, they are the carbontex style drag washes. And I think they are lubed dry
No carbon will last many years
Did this make a noticeable difference?

@@Drundel the ones who consider that unsafe just don't know how to handle a weapon properly lol
What type oil is that bub
The red can of Corrosion X.

What type of reel, how many bearings, and what kind of shape is the reel in? Ie, ie its really rough on the inside, it takes much longer to work on.

@@leroycline8849 Do you have all 5 bearings installed? Handle know plus worm gear?

Aqua Shield is the real deal
Saltwater is for the Shimano Tranx

Plastic screws are course thread metal are fine thread
Is that a left hand nut on the handle?
I don't remember, but I do know its different than on a right handed reel. Sorry to not be more helpful.
I keep mine out of saltwater
Malísima traducción. Además las letras no dejan ver más de ma mitad del trabajo....
Nice job but unnecessary the bushing will never wear out and will never tust likely why they do it and these bearings over time will corrode and get sluggish if not kept clean
True, but I keep mine clean and lubed.
And that’s why you keep your reels in good condition and clean often.... just asking it to fall apart if ya dont
