Second of all, make sure you have safe technology and don't be afraid to ask an experienced person for help. We all been there. And third of all, never give up.
Yes, I already have a Spektrum and intend to use SAFE and AS3X on my future attempts and yes, I'm definitely not giving up! Thank you for your kindness and tips!
Thank you! I figured as much and the missus was kind enough to buy me a Spektrum for my birthday three months ago... I wanted to try this pariah radio that came with the Cessna first. Obviously, it didn't work out so I'd probably get an E-flite to go with the Spektrum before coming back to this Cessna. If you've already seen my other videos, you'd know that I have other "ongoing" projects too! Haha...
You should try a hand launch with the Cessna. Keep away from the ailerons. 60% throttle until you're air-born. Very small movements on the controls with lots of height within plenty of signal range. I've got the same planes as you. The one I recommend for you which I've not long purchased is the Radiolink A560. The A560 is great value and it allows you to develop and make mistakes which doesn't keep costing you money!
I did try hand launching it, failed spectacularly. 😂 it’s quite a big plane and erm, so no won’t try again. I have to fix the plane before attempting to fly again. Or else, buy a new plane and try? 😂
Ok that could be one of the reasons too. Then again I didn’t suspect that cos it couldn’t be so off that it veered so badly? I don’t know but I’ll definitely check before the next attempt. Thanks for the tip!
I played the clips in slow motion several times and it sure looked like the ailerons were rolling it right when the plane rolled right. Are you certain the control surfaces were moving the correct directions with the transmitter sticks? Perhaps you need to invert one or more of the channels? Perhaps you did check them and it's my imagination, just trying to help, I'm sure that was very frustrating. If you do set up a Spektrum with gyro really pay attention that your stick movement directions are correct but with a gyro you also have to be sure it is also moving the controls in the correct directions. I hope you decide to try again, it is a great hobby. I wish you luck!
Thank you for your observations and advice! Yes, I'll probably go over it again when I have the time. The ailerons movements on take-off could be my jittery thumbs or just me not putting in the right stick movements. Not giving up. In fact, I do have an NX10SE the wife bought me for my birthday last year and I want to start using that soon but preferably on new planes! Yes it is a great hobby and I do have other projects, land and water, in the pipeline! Once again, thank you and you enjoy your flights too!

Number one rule of thumb always make sure you are flying in to the wind. That's your main thing.
Duly noted. Will remember this before my next flight. I guess this is one of the rookie mistakes that is so common...
i recommend a Spektrum receiver with SAFE select feature for all beginner after sim training

Sorry to see this, I suggest an FMS SuperEZ...tail dragger to learn on...good luck....
Thanks for the tip! I've bought a Spektrum system so will try that first one some other plane I have in mind...
can add flight stabilizer first. When you can fly can switch off.
Thank you for the tip. Yes, that’s exactly what I’d do soon…
It could be the center of gravity was off make sure you check it the next time you fly

You need larger wheels or a smoother takeoff place.
Yes thank you. I eventually realised but didn’t learn from my earlier mistakes. 😂
