The book box editions got me hooked, but like you, I'm stepping back on them to redirect that money elsewhere. I just need to narrow it down to which one I'm keeping because, yes, I get multiple boxes 😬 The FOMO is strong.
The Shadow of the Wind is amazing! This is the perfect time of year to read it as well. It's a Gothic thriller. I hope you love it as much as I did. The way he writes is amazing. The way he controls the flow of the story is like watching a fencing master duel. Some of the phrases he creates are just so beautiful. Sometimes violent or mysterious, but beautiful. The whole atmosphere he creates is perfect and it just sucks you right in to the story.
Yaaaayyy Cemetery of Forgotten Books series🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉!!!!!!! I hope you enjoy them….! They were all just SO immersive for me. The writing skill is just astounding.
I wouldn't describe it as Harry Potter-esque but I absolutely love The Mysterious Benedict Society and think you will too. I also loved The Wishing Game - it is one of my top books of the year.
The Book That Wouldn't Burn was Great. I posted it on IG and he commented on the post. The Brown Sister's books are amazing. I did also enjoy reading the Combat Codes last week because you recommanded it. And the Wishing Game was nice.
I'm intrigued by A Boy and His Dog and the End of the World, I haven't heard about that book anywhere else and I'm a sucker for near-future stories. And dogs, lol. (If you like near future speculative books, you should check out Adrift by Brideau; amnesia, climate change, pacific northwest setting... I found it really really interesting.)
Yayy! A book haul!! I need to read the shadow of the wind! It it’s unforgivable that I have not read it yet knowing that Ruiz Zafón was a Spaniard! Shame on me!
The Elements of Cadence is such a lovely duology. A River Enchanted was actually the first book I ever got from an Illumicrate monthly box. Their editions are so pretty and perfect for the series.
I just finished the Book that Wouldn’t Burn. My favorite book from this year. Was so unique. Excited for the sequel. Might even reread it before it releases
So many good books! The Mysterious Benedict Society is such a great middle grade series...so smart with lots of twists and turns. The Book that Wouldn't Burn is one of my favorites of the year! A Fire Endless is even better than A River Enchanted.. so good! Enjoy all of your new books!!!
I am really curious about Shadow of the Wing. I have been wanting to read that one for a while now! The Wishing Game is SO good! I think you will really enjoy it!
YAAAAAS THE BATTLEEEEE DRUMMMMMMMMM. For The Jasad Heir truly temper your expectations on the Egyptian myhtology elements. It has a slight flavor but I don't think the inspiration was anywhere near as clear as I was hoping/expecting.
You NEED to read Yumi and the Nightmare painter, it was beautiful and I enjoyed it a lot even when I was not finished with all cosmere books when reading it. It's probably my favourite from secret projects (but I did not read the last one yet).
So many interesting books❤ I am excited to see your reviews on Shadow of the Wind, Blood over Bright Haven and Immortal Longings because those also caught my attention and are already part of my TBR. I also think you will like In Order to Live, it is so sad but such an important story and so powerful. I think everyone should read it and I gave it 5 stars.
I’m currently reading Masters of Death by Olivie Blake. She does have a unique writing style. I’m very intrigued by her writing. This is the first book of hers that I have read and will definitely read more. Just book book 2 (used) of Shadow in the Wind series, but I like your editions much better! Wanting to read the Combat series. Heard lots good about it. Working on my first Abby Jimenez and enjoying it. Thanks for your podcasts. I love a good book haul-your special editions had be drooling. Want A Study in Drowning even if it is YA.
I would recommend Immortal Longings to people who get really sucked into a romance and don't really care about world-building or internal consistency. Unfortunately it really really really wasn't for me. It felt so much like a video game (a la Grand Theft Auto) that I think it would've worked better that way.
Hi new subscriber here !! I would recommend for you to read RIVERS END by NORA ROBERTS if you love mystery and thriller she's such a good author as well 😊
Oh man...i did not like the Ghost Tree. At all. I DNF-ed it at 120 pages or so :(. Same with Horseman. i So wanted to like it. But i did love Near The Bone. That was a solid read

@@bellamin4549 Yeah those are the ones I have too -- they're my faves! Such appealing covers & they just look so nice together
My favorite book of the year was The Shadow in the Wind, and The Mysterious Benedict Society is a childhood favorite! ❤
Love the shadow of the wind series!! beautifully written....
The cover of The Battle Drum is so pretty!
I wouldn't describe it as Harry Potter-esque but I absolutely love The Mysterious Benedict Society and think you will too. I also loved The Wishing Game - it is one of my top books of the year.
Blood Over Bright Haven was fantastic! I hope you love it!
Hi, where did you purchase it? I know it had a UK release. I could probably get on Amazon but I don't wish to do that.
@@strawberrylime33 Hi! I was lucky and received an e-arc of the book. I'm not sure it's available anywhere except for Amazon at the moment.
Yay I’m so glad you loved it!!! I can’t wait!
So many amazing books there! I also just started The Hurricane Wars and I'm not a huge romantasy gal but I'm actually really enjoying it!!!
Oh my goodness your books are so beautiful. Thanks for sharing

The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Riddle of Ages is the 4th book in the Mysterious Benedict Society series. 😄
Just started A Study in Drowning today. I have the Owlcrate edition. Both are so pretty!
You are going to love the "Cemetery of forgotten books" (The Shadow of the wind saga)!

I had no idea Zafron’s books were a series! I have two to read but now I suppose I have to find the right order…
Yayy! A book haul!! I need to read the shadow of the wind! It it’s unforgivable that I have not read it yet knowing that Ruiz Zafón was a Spaniard! Shame on me!
I haven't read it either and Spanish is my first language 🥲
The Elements of Cadence is such a lovely duology.
A River Enchanted was actually the first book I ever got from an Illumicrate monthly box. Their editions are so pretty and perfect for the series.
Omg yes their editions are gorgeous!
So happy to see Ink Blood Sister Scribe! I read it in June and it's one of my favorite books so far this year...might even be #1. I hope you love it!
Belated Happy Birthday!!
Looks like so many intriguing books. I hope you love them all!

Read "Ink Blood Sister Scribe" immediately. It's more blend of urban magic, dysfunctional family dynamics and thriller. I loved it
Omg that sounds amazing!

BLOOD OVER HAVEN IN HARDCOVER?! omg where?
I got it from Amazon!
Where can I purchase Blood Over Bright Haven that isnt amazon?
I'd like to know that too. Was not successful yet
I’m not sure 😫😫
I read the Mark Lawrence book, exciting premise but it just dragged on and on for me.
WINNERS was just as FANTASTIC as the first two in the series 🫶
The Finlay Donovan books have gone downhill for me after LOVING the first one 🤷🏻♂
Oh man...i did not like the Ghost Tree. At all. I DNF-ed it at 120 pages or so :(. Same with Horseman. i So wanted to like it. But i did love Near The Bone. That was a solid read
Oh no!! Well I’ll have to try near the bone next!
