      Nailed it! It’s why I came to the comments, too focused on control - let us hear these folks so we can make a choice

    Since when do we have debates with raising your hand. This was rigged. The worst debate and moderator I’ve ever seen.

    Curtis Hill & Jamie Reitenour are the clear winners in this debate. Eric Doden is my third pick. Braun, Chambers and Crouch aren’t in touch with the average voter and their concerns.

    • @DanielKolbin

      Considering that they wouldn’t mind a Trump endorsement is pretty concerning. I kinda see where Jamie is coming from but clearly goes kinda arrogant sometimes.

      I mostly agree with your assessment. While I appreciate Chambers' zeal for economic development, many of his responses indicated too much of a mindset that money could solve issues of the human soul. I like Crouch, but I have my doubts that her emphasis on government department collaboration would come to pass or bring forth the promised fruits.

    So many vacant building in Indiana. Drive through a small cities
    Downtown. Some of them, like mine, have zero businesses. Skeleton of what this state used to be. We’re being sucked dry by something. Don’t even get me started on how badly our politicians have been purchased by lobbyists for things like marijuana, Kratom, and product sales. It’s pothetic! I’m thinking about moving to another state with my wife and son away from OUR FAMILY! Be good enough to support families staying together to practice what you preach in family values. Listen to the young people or this state will eventually be an elephant graveyard of suburbs.

    Final ranking:
    1. Curtis Hill
    2. Jamie Reitenhour
    3. Eric Doden
    Curtis and Jamie were the only ones who stood up and took charge at any point in time or who pushed back against the moderator. They understood that they were not just there to answer questions but to show leadership.
    Curtis track record gives him a lot of credibility and is proof he will stand firm when push comes to shove. Also his commitment to reducing waste at IN DoE and removing DEI is fantastic.
    Jamie had a great energy and was solid in her conservative values and in bringing up important topics. But her comments about DEI at 51:20 and about God telling her she would be the governor. Those are a bit concerning.
    Eric Doden has a number of comprehensive plans in place and his track record in the Fort Wayne region is great. But his potential likelihood to cave to big business is concerning, especially if mega-corps try to prevent conservative values from being made law.
    But the zero cost adoption idea from Eric is great and I hope the other candidates jump on that.
    If Eric Doden would have had more energy and would have taken command of the stage that have bumped him up to number 2 on the list.

    Property taxes are insane in Greenwood. They say that the supply and demand have increased my home value by 120k in 2 years, raising my mortgage payment by 300 dollars a month. And will increase even more next year. My wages are not increasing to my homes inflated value. I will lose my home over this.

    • @Mattie_Ice

    • @OttoKreml
      @OttoKreml 3 місяці тому

      Well if they don't raise them how is anyone else going to afford a home in future? Home prices have been relatively well controlled in indiana as compared to the rest of the country, and I'd hate to see that trend reverse.
      We could also relax zoning laws to allow denser construction and more residential buildings in commercial areas. Or we could try to just make the economy more efficient, but as states go we're already doing pretty well there. The wage problems are more of a global trade and finance issue in addition to people being out of wedlock.

  • @OttoKreml
    @OttoKreml 3 місяці тому

    Ugh, don't make us a tax haven please. You grow the economy by producing more outputs per inputs.
    What we need is for property prices to be controlled while jobs become more available. And not just more of them. But to make the average Hoosier actually have access to more jobs in their area to pick from to increase competition and get a better resting labor equilibrium. Realistically that means more infrastructure, density, and public transit.
    And to those who are afraid of density. It more apartments to choose from means more potential homes to own too. It just gives more options, and lower home values will mean lower property taxes and you can keep your homes.

    I'm watching this on May 6/7th as I watch the other two debates the night before as well. I would have to agree this moderator seems to think we can predict the future. While these five believe Indiana elections are secure, we cannot say how other states would be. While I don't feel that the 2020 elections we "Stolen" there were irregularities. I'm a Conservative Democrat, in 2024 I feel my party has done everything to prevent President Biden from having to compete against anyone who might be a better choice from the democratic party.
    Lastly if Sen. Braun could not attend it is not your job as the moderator to speak for him. Mr Braun forfeited his right to respond to questions when he did not attend.

      I have met her a few times. She is actually very nice to be around and treats everyone she mets with respect. I didn't know she was going to be at my church and I came in late, rushed downstairs and my kid almost ran into her, and she turned and shook my hand and introduced herself with a smile. I didn't even know who she was till she spoke infront of us all. She had my vote that day.

      Just as many women identify as pro life as they do pro choice according to pew.
      Sure, women are the ones affected directly. But you know it isn't exactly a massive act of kindness by men to promote consequence free sex. There was a time where if you got a girl pregnant you married her end of story. Well now it's 'why didn't you just get an abortion?' How is that fair to women?
