Brings back so many memories. HST's under the Barlow roof at St. Pancras is how I remembered travelling on the Midland. Project Rio in full swing with the Manchester services and construction of the new extensions to St. P (now used by southeastern) and the current MML station in the early stages of construction. Kettering in its glory before electrification and the old Derby station.
I remember the HST VALENTA ENGINE as I traveled from London Paddington to Bristol temple meads in 97 it was the Great Western merlin livery I was on what an amazing sound I was in coach A
5:15 le'poo'poo'! SEWAGE ON THE TRACKS! ✨Please do not use in stations✨Also every 6 year old on the planet flushing the toilets when on bridges and in stations! Also, what is the difference between the Valenta Paxman and the VP185?

I so miss the sound of the Paxman Velenta. The Ear-piercing Scream from the engines.
