Hello my husband watches you and I heard your comment about flowers around your slab. My I suggest as one southern to another Lavender is a great flower to have around any outdoor area. they repel mosquitos and smell great they also come back every year with little maintence . If you like hanging plants or potted plants mint is also great but do not plant in your yard because it will quickly take over. I wish someone had told me about this sooner. Have fun

You forgot to leave a gap under that 1st piece of plywood. The wood will wick moisture from the cement and could warp the panel. Want to copy the arch, get a section of cardboard and tape it up and trace it. Cut along the lines and presto, instant template. There are other ways to do it but that is the simplest.

Yep, there IS an easier way to do those arches. Home Depot has ready-made wooden arches that fit right in between standard 16" framing members. I forget the name of the company, but they run about $30 or less apiece. They come in standard wall cavity depths, and can be adjusted up and down for height. I do like your DIY method, though.

Being those walls are as tall as they are I would recommend some blocking at the 4 foot mark. If you know where the cabinets will be going, just nail up some 2x6 blocking laid flat side out between the studs centered so it is flush with the outside of the wall. This way it will make hanging cabinets much easier.
