Stage diving was the rage back in the day. I saw Anthrax with Helloween and Exodus in 1990 at Cobo Arena in Detroit. Those shows back then were intense and off of the hook.
Saw these guys way later in 2000 on the monsters of rock tour with Rob Halford, Megadeth, and Motley Crue (of all people) at Red Rocks near Denver. The night before, Anthrax did a warm up show at a super small venue called the Colorado Music Hall. The guitarist Buckethead was big at the time so my buddy wore a KFC bucket from that night's dinner on his head to the show. At one point John Bush took it and put it on. Scott, Frank and him took turns wearing it through the remainder of the show. We got it back and met the guys after the show and they all signed it. That was a great time!
How cool would that be though (then, not now lol) where you know they are just on stage to have a good fucking time. They aren't fucking with the band, just living in the moment!!!
This song throw me back to my teenage years! Used to listen Anthrax so much back then. Charlie is a beast behind his kit. Still the most energetic live band in the word!
I miss those old barroom mosh pits. I saw Exodus in 88 at bar called Blonde's in Detroit. They were moshing on top of the bar for that one. Awesome times.
Classic show, I've had it on DVD as a bootleg for many years. Have to do some Slayer from Dynamo 1985 too. Hell Awaits is a good starter. Yeah, in these old mid 80's thrash concerts, there were usually more fans on the stage than band members, crazy times.
To quote the Wizard of Oz: "The heart is not judged by how much you love but by how much you are loved by others." Also Anthrax and Pantera did do a tour in the 90s and to this day Scott Ian of Anthrax will still say his liver is still recovering from that one tour.
On the far right it looks like Bobby from Overkill. If you like the people on shoulders thing, watch Warrant live video during the DRFSR tour. They used to do this with the guitar player and singer on the shoulders of the bassist and other guitar player. I think they do it for the song 'So Damn Pretty'.
One of the best Live Bands i have ever "experienced" ...please a Double Reaction : ANTISOCIAL by TRUST (France) and the Cover Version of ANTHRAX!......
Awesome! When I first started going to shows Megadeth, Anthrax, Slayer they allowed stage diving. A couple years later they started having security at the front and banned stage diving. It was fun and at the end of the shows everyone was drenched heavy B.O.
coming on the stage is also common today for a lot of hardcore, thrash, even brutal death metal shows.... oh, and grindcore... have some look at the obscene extreme festival, whole crowd comes on the stage. but i had the same situation already with a local Melo Death band playing in a small ass club (stage monitors and lamps were damaged already the second song in), so yeah... crowds can go crazy and that's not necessarily bad, but some bands don't like it.
Yeeeeeeah!!! Real old school!!! You cool! Сheck it: KEEP OF KALESSIN - Ascendant (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO) Vader- Carnal DYING FETUS - "Your Treachery Will Die With You"
That's just the way it was back then. The beginnings of thrash.

This track got me into Thrash back in the day. None of the other big three can beat this.

I remember Charlie Benante (drummer) saying that the old man at the end was a school teacher.
Anthrax's Gung- Ho is a thrash metal classic and how ya'll reacted I enjoyed this video so much.
those things were common during the 80s in thrash, death, hardcore, punk and grindcore concerts
That was from Bochum in Germany on the Spreading The Disease tour, 85/86, had it on VHS back in the day, classic !
dude I did the same thing at a early exodus show...and got yeated back into the crowd.....so fun

At the same time I could not stop myself from laughing when I saw people going on stage with the band and doing all kinds of crazy things.
Incredibile incredibile video GuyZ . This is early 90'S for sure . Even Ian Scott has very long Hair
One of the best Live Bands i have ever "experienced" ...please a Double Reaction : ANTISOCIAL by TRUST (France) and the Cover Version of ANTHRAX!......
Dan Spitz was always like clockwork....... 😜
(Fyi, he quit Anthrax to become a watchmaker).
That was normal in the 80's in the clubs when it was starting up people were on the stage often stage divin the whole show.

Old-school Anthrax. You need to do some tunes off of “Fistful of Metal”
I was at an Ozzy concert when this happened!
Killing it keep rocking
What a chaos on the stage. But so funny and they don't interruppted the band. Awesome.
ZUGABE ZUGABE = WE WANT MORE WE WANT MORE
Welcome to the German Metal Base....they scream "ZUGABE"...means "We Want More"
Bands would typically let fans on stage as they would crowd surf to the stage then stage dive. How do you not know this?
So speed
These are 80's crowds

Fucking do more Anthrax!!!
Love this so much :)
You should check out Anthrax I'm the Man, Indians and Madhouse
Most of the extra people on the stage is their road crew. Typically the last song in the set.
Back when Scott Ian had hair. lol
This is back when live music was fun, then they brang in the barricades…
Yeeeeeeah!!! Real old school!!! You cool!
Сheck it:
KEEP OF KALESSIN - Ascendant (OFFICIAL MUSIC VIDEO)
Vader- Carnal
DYING FETUS - "Your Treachery Will Die With You"
In the 80's more people in the stage than people in the band was normal....
Please do something from Destruction - live without sense
Charlie Benante is a beast...
Anthrax - *caught in a mosh* with lyrics please!
Good lord, how old is this?
Welcome to metal shows in the 80s
I always liked John Bush as a singer better but I wish the Bush era had some speed like this
Kann sich einer noch an Anthrax bei den Bundy's erinnern?
я первый. жгите ребята.
Ragazzi ma a voi mi piace il metal?
NY thrash at its finest!!!
this is thrash show
