  • We just moved to a farm and I had four days to move my entire workshop. I couldn't just move my stuff, I also had to build a wall to protect my 3d-printers from getting all dusty.

It is refreshing to see normal people, living normal lives, sharing their dreams and worries, their ups and downs. I initially joined your channel for your creativity, but keep watching it for the unpretentious "normality" of it all. I wish you all the best with your new life!

Ants: If they are living in the wall they may be carpenter ants (if you have them there?) and they also need moisture. So carpenter ants (very destructive) also means water in the wall (also destructive) as they like damp. Don't ignore it. Been enjoying your videos for awhile, figured I'd give back a tiny bit if I could. Thanks.

What a monstruous undertaking. Not only moving a home and then a shop is never easy. I did that move about 9 months ago and still have things packed away in my garage. However, it goes give me the perfect ability to limit what exactly comes into the new shop once its built.

Beautiful result, even if it's only temporary.
As long as it isn't structural, there honestly isn't really a wrong way to build a wall. Just make sure you have a plan of where all the electric cables go so in the future you won't accidentally drill through one of them.
I like the socket straight in the pegboard, you can just hang some battery powertool or battery charger on there and charge it right there without it taking up any space.

What a great video. The speed at which you worked to get the shop moved and transformed the new space was phenomenal, and puts the 5 months of work I have done (and am nowhere near completing) on my shop to shame. I love videos where we see a bit more of the persons life, I wish I could show more on my channel, but as a short term foster family, we can't film the kids and put that in the publuc domain, but I love seeing the family dynamics, and you guys seem like such a fun, loving family. Great video, looking forward to seeing the new new shop in the barn, should be great :D As for the wall building ... It would be really great if there was a place, like, maybe in the library, or maybe even somewhere closer or easier to access, like from a computer, where one could find instructions and tricks and tips for things like ... building walls ... ;) Just joking, done this so many times myself before I actually startet looking for and learning how to "do it properly" - the fun thing is: even those half assed figuring it out myself solutions usually last a really long time :)

Hi 👋, as regarding your CNC, you might of our tomato table that could fall down off the wall, so you could still have kept it, or even made some wreck in system so hung off the ceiling, so when you needed it, you could lower it down, as they say, where there’s a will, there’s a way. But as you so rightly said you’re young lady, wife has got a nice new tool to play with, better throw at a wheel instead of you., 😂.

About the ants, I know a good way gow to at least prevent them from going inside. They are following the trails their scouts made. You only need to erase the trails. vinigar+dish soap solution works well. Gonna smell vinigar, but not too long. I usually just spray it.

I would not be even able to tidy up my workshop in 4 days never mind move everything, I inherited the workshop from my late father and it took over a week to clear things up to get some of my printers and power tools in there, the workshop is a series of extensions that started off from a garden shed, my dad started off with a small extension when the shed became too small and has had three more increasingly larger extensions, the last two being 4 times wider than the original shed, the garden shed is just a porch and small exotic timber store now LOL
