I love how all three fit so well with their role in the song, and how their role in the song aligns so well with the roles they play in the story and who they become as adults. I also especially love the symbolism of them still being children, like they don't yet know how important and powerful they will be. Not sure if that was done on purpose, but I definitely interpreted it that way, and choose to think of it like that because I think its cool as hell.

Shikamaru is the poet in the song, and in the show/manga he is incredibly intelligent and is essentially the man behind the man, using his words and smarts to help rule and advise the Hokage. And Naruto is the ruler in the song, as well as has the jesus imagery in the song. In the show/manga he is a messianic figure almost, bringing peace to the Shinobi world and leading people to a better future. Great choices, both for the roles in the song and also aligns perfectly for their roles in the story.
