  • Ryan Evan "Van" McCann & Johnny "Bondy" Bond from UK’s Catfish & The Bottlemen sit down to talk with us in Toronto. They discuss the creation of their new album “The Ride” with Dave Sardy, performing at Governors Ball in NYC, and having a goal to sell-out shows and not necessarily topping the charts.

Just discovered this band, love them. The guy on the left seems shy and sad; incredibly attractive though

Just me or does Van seem quite quiet and sad in this interview?

I think he looks thoughtful, not that he's actually sad, but seems quite quiet as if he's overthinking (I totally get it, btw). Obviously that's really dissonant from the Van we're used to: the sponteneous one with enthusiasm and sparkling energy/personality (not that he's lost it, anyway) --- I'm gonna stop now 'cause I tend to overthink things too.

+Adrian Sant yeah, that's what I thought too. he is getting older and more mature.

+kokos Coco I just hope he isn't bored of touring and being a big band because this is what he's always wanted. And I hope his personal life is good as well because some of the songs off The Ride seem like Van is going through some heart break like 7

+Adrian Sant I feel the exact same! I hope he never gets bored of touring or meeting fans or writing music or doing interviews and playing live. I love this band too much for that to ever happen

I share this feeling tho. I bloody hope that it's just a moment and that he can still be the same with his people
