Oh no, now I'm going to go down a rabbit hole! 🐰 Definitely a good thing to check up on before Q4 really gets rolling! I'm curious about 'gift' vs 'gifts'. That might cause some trouble......
Thanks for looking into this, Pam. I am not surprised if plurals matter. I try to vary my listings a little to add the singular keyword to one listing and the plural to another - mainly because I don't trust Etsy to tell us the right thing 🤣
I've noticed that, but I've always tagged for google too. If I use the tag 'Bronze Hair Fork' but my title starts with 'Bronze Pearl Hair Fork' my listing rating drops...but if my title reads 'Bronze Hair Fork with Pearl Glass Sphere' then I'm up in the top of page one for 'bronze hair fork. I rank lower in the plurals on some because I use matching ie; 'Hammered Forks Pins'. Other listings I do exact plurals "Bronze Hair Forks'...this way some listings will be ranked higher regardless, and it brings people into my shop. It's exact first, then matched, and for google it's the first phrase or meta title as well as the first sentence of the description if it reads well in the meta data.
I noticed that a long time ago, but because I knew I couldn’t understand it and thought I was doing something wrong because I was following everybody else’s direction and all different types of keywords like you said that they make a match so I thought that would happen, but it didn’t happen. You are absolutely right there is something going on with the plurals.
Etsy is insane. They are changind everything constantly not realize that the problem is with the market and inflation not their algorythm. Insane CEO makes the platform worse and worse.
I have always gone against Etsy's guidance stating that the plural use of the word doesn't matter and you should focus on root words. Search engines aren't smart enough to extrapolate root words. Nonsense.
Totally off topic lol, but I love your makeup! You look beautiful 🎉
Thanks for a great video as always

:D Sorry, yeah this was already a side quest for me

Yes, you are so right. I should not have trusted Etsy on this and tested it before now! But for sure one to keep an eye on now
Great find. Thanks for this. This is the last thing we needed, but it's definitely good to know. Now off to check on my listings 😭
This is where the discontined analytics page would have come in very handy 😮💨
That’s pretty horrifying. Will do some testing. Thank you.

I just want to say Thank you! You gave me something to think about since I'm new to etsy. Thank you Pam!
