Sounds like Risacher is more the type of player that the Spurs need over Topic. Risacher brings defense and shooting which would help space the floor for Wemby to operate in the paint. Topic sounds like he has the same flaws as Tre Jones, only he his taller.
Yes, they kind of have the same flaws, but the topic is much more creative and intelligent than tre Jones’s was. However, Risarcher is also a good fit as you said.
If not a natural defender size is everything at that position (defensively) so the result could end up being very different but I too think they should get Risacher anyway.
In a lot of cases, not all, you can teach shooting. And that 6"6 height and 7 ft wingspan is what you are looking for. Risacher does seem to be a great fit, especially if he is a dog on defense.

tbh I believe Risachier to be a better choice for Spurs than Topić (although he is the ONLY choice for Pistons, so I understand why you put him here) - he is an option that cannot go wrong, Spurs need both the perimeter defence and spacing, which he provides, they also don't need a guy who is ball dominant, with their motion-ball playstyle, and Zacharie is that as well - he is basically a plug-and-play type player, which is always the best choice when you already got your star to build around

Zacc R and Topic are my pick if im the Spurs drafting team. Topic’s vision and rim pressure would crazy with Wemby, Sochan, Vassell. Im not worried about the jumpshot at all. If the Spurs dev staff got Sochan to be an 80% shooter from FT and a 33% guy from 3 (it was Ben Simmons bad) then Topic could be very very good

I really appreciate classes like this one that emphasize building strong foundations. Watching flashy ballers on UA-cam who lack a solid grasp of the basics often leaves me unimpressed. I usually start making mock draft after the NBA Draft Lottery, to get a better idea, this draft to me is all over the place, I'm not even sure Sarr is going first, I think it's going to depend who is picking first. Wizards I could see taking Sarr, Spurs I could because of having Twin Towers , Grizzlies could and the defense of Jaren Jackson Jr and Sarr would be scary, Bulls if they play him at the 4. I think it has potential to have two to three stars, I just don't feel there's a franchise changing player in this draft, I think this draft is more about adding a piece to a roster

The NBL has 10 teams and plays about 20 rounds during the regular season. Each game is 40 minutes. The quality of the NBL is perhaps the equivalent of or similar to that of the league in Europe or that of American college.

Sarr sounds great for the Wizards. I was thinking the same the whole time until you described the 6'7 point guard. Id hate to Draft the next Ayton instead of the next Luka. If your the Wizards GM you got to hope somewhat that the choice is made for you either way. Being at 2 you just better not grab a Marvin Bagley. Sometimes drafting for position has horrible outcomes.

I really don’t like the mpj comparison for risacher. Yeah they are both very good shooters but that’s all. Risacher is most likely to become a team player than mpj, and his defense is way better. On the other hand mpj is a much better offensive creator, with his driving, athleticism and shot creation.

Ngl Topic seems like a bust to me. Sure he could be a good player but picking him in the top 4 is way too high for a player that isnt elite offensive/defensively. If the Spurs get him, Id sure hope theyd get Tony Parker or Manu mentoring him for at least 1 full szn. If not, Id much rather see them get Trae Young, an elite 3pt shooter/playmaker PG that could help take the scoring load off and at the same time become the star PG next to Wemby. Imagine the pick and roll/pick and pop between them two…

@@burning69 Not a Serbian but a Croatian; Yugoslavian. Dragan Bender was picked 4th in 2016 and he didnt turned out like Luka or Porzingis. Luka coming into the NBA was the youngest MVP of EuroLeague and Porzingis is one of the best versatile bigman in the NBA rn; being able to postup, shoot the 3ball, defend the rim at an above average level. Topic is neither a good shooter or defender, his passing wont be enough in the NBA when we’ve seen amazing passers like Ben Simmons and Josh Giddey becoming liability to their teams cause they cant score the ball to save their lives lmao
You make some great points but there is something to be said about Topic playing so well in a mans leauge, this is not Cooper Flagg playing agaisnt other 16-17 year olds on his moms team, this is a kid who worked from the ground up to play agaisnt grown men, and he's lowkey whipping there asses. I don't see bust but to expect him to come into the leauge and be Luka is just a bad idea, if your drafting Topic you need to be okay with him just beign either a very good role player or semi-allstar, which isn't bad value at the 3rd or 4th spot, not all picks can be generational talents.
One of the youngest players in the class, defensively solid great at steals has good size great slasher and passer and has decent mechanics

I can see him at the 4 and JJ moving to the 3 for the hawks. We have a good backup 4 in development already though. Who knows . He will probably play both the 4 and 5. Hopefully he can put on another 20lbs or so to be a more effective rebounder

Alex Saar is more mobility Jalen Duren, change my mind
Sarr will be one of the most mobile 7 footers in the league, easily. His combination of mobility speed and athleticism can only be compared to a couple 7 footers in the league
They are polar opposites, Sarr isn’t undersized, hes skinny, he laterally mobile and has great hip mobility while Duren is stiff, Sarr has feel on the defensive side of the floor whereas Duren has feel on the offensive side of the floor. 2 sides of a coin maybe but definitely not the same player
Duren could be the best rebounder in the nba in a couple years. I don’t see that with Sarr. But Sarr is going to be much better defensively.
