Lived in Swindon for 9 years now. Not been to Gorse Hill that much but I did laugh seeing it on UA-cam. Perfectly safe if you’re not stalking down alleys late at night.
You can tell this guy has been to Gorse Hill once and made his mind up. Gorse Hill house prices keeps going up for a reason. It's in demand because of it's proximity to the Rail station to London....it takes 59 minutes to London Paddington. Also everything is within a 5 minute walk....Mcdonalds, Home Bargains, Lidl, Sainsbury, Asda, Marks and Sparks, Aldi, Gyms, Rail station, Bus station, Tesco, Coop, KFC, Burger King, dominoes, Starbucks, Outlet village and too many others to mention. You are now getting more and more people from London buying in Gorse Hill because house prices are 4 times cheaper and it takes just as quick to enter central London. Remember property prices are supply and demand and the demand for Gorse Hill far outweigh the supply. The average price paid for properties in Gorse Hill is £373,000 as of May 14, 2024
Gorse Hill isn't that bad. I've spent a lot of time there over the years as family and friends live there and I have commuted regularly on foot through the area to the nearby Kembrey Park industrial estate. I've never felt unsafe there. I could easily name at least five worse areas than this in Swindon.
It's interesting, if you look at comments on my videos people always range from saying an area is perfectly safe to making out like it's a warzone. I guess it comes down to what you feel is 'safe' and your own experiences. The crime stats don't lie, these are high crime areas. But I'm aware it only tells part of the story. What do you see as the most dangerous area in Swindon based on your experience?
Gorse Hill is definately far from the worst area in Swindon. It's just run down. The valley in Penhill is far worse. Manchester Road and the surrounding streets too. I would walk through Gorse Hill at night, but I wouldn't walk through the valley or Manchester Road at night.
You are factually incorrect on many issues in this video. The red light area in Swindon is around Manchester Road/Train Station/Broad Green so if anyone wants to avail of those services go there🤗. The multicultural residency is in that area and into the town centre and up into Old Town so if you’d like to be part of that life then buy a house there. Dependant on which type of property you wish to purchase the avg price in Gorse Hill is around £250-£270k and above. As for back alleys ….the whole of Swindon is littered with them. As for crime …no diff to the whole of the UK. As for the 2 stabbing well the 33yrold who was stabbed wasn’t in Gorse Hill but in Pinehurst in the park on a drug deal gone wrong. As for the Hells Angels they’ve been there for over 30yrs and it still has meet ups most Sundays of summer weekends so if you like Harley’s them this is yr place to enjoy! If you want to make places look lovely then you find lovely shots ….and if you want it to look shit to get extra clicks then you might get 5/10! Do your research correctly before you make factually incorrect videos. I’ve lived here in Gorse Hill for 21 Years ….i know my facts🤗🤗
Came here to say pretty much the same. I live round the corner from the bikers. In 30 years no trouble at all. Maybe we should introduce this idiot to a few! 😂
Thanks for adding this video, it has made me smile. I can see from the comments that people are trying to say its not the worst place in Swindon, this is correct by the way, check out the places that begin with P.
Cheers. Yeah we did videos on Pinehurst and Penhill, much of the same in those areas, Penhill seems to have more violent crimes. We went where the official police crime stats took us, but obviously stats never tell the whole story.
