Geto killed his parents because they were both non sorcerers.

This honestly breaks my heary but can u blame Geto for snapping he made a lot of good points and seeing those girls in cages treated like wild animals was the last straw because in actuality it was there fault that curses was born because of there negative energy

Hopefully you see this, I am a bit late but I would like to break down the scene of the clapping and what not since you both seem confused a little
They were clapping over Riko's death; they accomplished their goal of assassinating her as the "star plasma vessel" and stopping the assimilation; which they hoped would cause tengen-sama to evolve into a higher being and become the god they worshipped.
Geto went into that room and saw non-sorcerers (The people he vowed to protect) applauding the death of a innocent little girl. He already knew the "Ugliness of the masses" before hand; but never actually experienced it first hand, and thus this experience in that room deeply affected him as it did challenge basically his entire world view and reason for being a sorcerer. He also developed PTSD; He clearly never moved on from that day, and the show keeps focusing on the clapping as a way to show that, and shows many signs of major depression. Sunken eyes - poor sleep + bad diet, bags under eyes - Poor sleep, "Have you lost weight, Suguru?" and various other signs that I will not list out here but clearly points towards a lack of self care and general depression.
The death of Riko and following depression because of it lead him onto a spiral over the course of a year, as because of his depression and PTSD he started to lag behind Gojo, Leading Gojo to take the title of "the strongest" alone, and him to take missions alone - Isolating Geto further. And yeah, he descends into the "9-5" worker mindset, going through the motions aimlessly without any real goal or motivation.
And then the summer - all of these factors combined with Yuki's meeting and Yu Haibara's death leads him to heavily question why he is protecting non-sorcerers, the ones who treat them with such cruelty, and where his hatred truly begins to brew and show.
And finding the little girls locked up in that basement, you can see various visual that symbolize the true feelings he chose as he finally snaps and as we all know slaughtered the village (including his parents) of 112 people, and escaped with the two little girls, vowing to create a "perfect world" of only jujutsu sorcerers.
I would go into more depth but there are many video-essay character analysis/breakdown videos out there that completely break down Geto Suguru's character and explain it a lot better than me, so I recommend checking that out if you want to learn more about one of my favorite characters in all of fiction.

Suguru is the best character in Jujutsu Kaisen for me

I really enjoy your aftertalk! nice reaction!
FYI : (No spoiler) just 'so far ver.'
Maki has cursed energy (less than ordinary people - less than non-sorcerer), Toji has No(ZERO) cursed energy. SOME of non-sorcerer can see cursed spirit even in general circumstance(called as a WINDOW - accoridng to supervisor. Ijichi in Season 1 EP 3 or 4).
Heavenly pact means born with pact like 'You lose something about sorcery system, Gain Something else' - Mechamaru, Maki, Toji (megumi's dad).
Mechamaru : gains - Cursed energy range covered whole japan / loses - arm, legs, fragile skins
Maki : Gains - Superhuman physical strength / loses - cursed energy is even less than ordinary people ( can't see cursed spirits)
Toji Fushiguro/zen'in : Gains - Superhuman physical strength / loses - No cursed energy literally zero (can see and sense cursed spirits or energy with five senses like sight, smell, hear... etc.)
I 'personally' think the basketball scene shows whole differences between Gojo and Geto and also shows concept of justice as a jujutsu sorcerer
Gojo throw a ball with any stance (proper stance and riffraff ) , it goes goal in. Geto throw a ball with proper stance, it didn't goal in.
which means Gojo's justice(motivation) of action is not only very unstable but also very selfish. still Gojo's action as a Jujutsu sorcerer ended in the right way.
Geto's justice(motivation) of action is very stable and for great cause. but somehow Geto's final goal ended in the wrong way.
