The old wife’s tail I was told from my mother was it will snow three times on the robins tail before the winter snows will stop and spring will stick around for good. So we will see!

Another great video. If you don't have the guthooks app I highly recommend it. Keeps you from guessing which way the trail goes (and works without cell service). Also if you're not a member of the "thousand miler wannabes" facebook group consider joining as there are lots of people ready to provide whatever support, assistance you might need. Happy hiking!

Thanks for the positive feed back!:) I like that. Yes, I have the Guthooks app, and it’s great! Problem is my phones GPS locates me like five / ten miles off my exact location. But to be honest the trails are so well maintained and posted so well I haven’t had any real problems getting lost so far:) nothing I could venture a hundred feet and figure out anyways. Unfortunately, I’m not on Facebook though because that would be helpful. We will see I guess. Thanks again! Glad I could stir up some old memories.

How heavy is your pack? Are you planning resupply points or jumping on and off the trail?

My original base weight is 18 lbs. but for a short while I had some winter gear w/ me like crampons and some warmer clothes. I just got rid of that stuff thankfully, finally. But I’ve been carrying five days of food currently to save on $$ and then I’m from the state so I have family and friends meeting me to give me my pre made resupply boxes. Mainly for the first third of the trail. The second two thirds I will more so be resupplying in towns as you hit them more often than up in the north woods. I did jump off trail snow storm days though...
