- In celebration of Air Canada's 80th anniversary, they are sending their first ever aircraft across Canada... And one of their stops is of course Montreal! What a cool Plane! After departure, the L10 flew low over AC base and tower before doing a flyby past 06R.. What an amazing celebration!
This video includes landing, taxiing, in hanger shot, in aircraft (cabin and cockpit), taxiing, departure, fly past Air Canada base and tower, low past 06R. Enjoy!
Happy 80th Anniversary Air Canada! You guys sure have grown from this L10
Built in 1937, this is by far the oldest plane I have ever seen... She looks fantastic

That engine sound at takeoff 😍💕
Ikr! I turned my volume all the way up! :D
beautiful aircraft! and she got you there, and back, no fly by wire! that was really flying!
wow ,it is a very beautiful aircraft , i love the classic models .
It's great that Air Canada keeps that old Electra in flying condition.
Absolutely beautiful plane.
Great shooting! Here is a little trivia for fans of the 10A; those Electras were not equipped with toe brakes when they came out from Lockheed, they had a single hand-operated lever! Sometime during the life of TCC, when it was used by Matane Air Services in Quebec during the 50-60s, my father who was A&P there, developped the STC for replacing the lever with Cessna pedals which incorporated toe-brakes. To this day, TCC still has the Cessna pedals in place. This mod was also done to other 10As, many of which not surviving anymore.
There's nothing quite like the sound of twin-blade propellers being spun by nine-cylinder radial engines at takeoff power.
Interesting fact: one of the designers of this aviation classic was none other than a young Clarence "Kelly" Johnson, who did the wind tunnel testing and came up with the idea of using two vertical stabilizers instead of one. No computers were necessary to take this plane from concept to reality...just some incredibly good engineering and a certain amount of brashness.
mmmh... not too easy to land that amazing bird !! NICE CATCH !!!
Similar to the Beechcraft 18. Nice! Amelia Earhart's method of travel.
very nice catch :)
Great catch!
De la belle visite
Nice video
wooow belle prise !
Excellent engine noise! Great to see this old L10. I saw photos of it in the hangar at Montreal. Not a good event at all. Employees of Air Canada only allowed to see it? That's awful PR. Don't tell me otherwise
Why does he say "tcc" instead of Tango Charlie Charlie?
