Big fan of Beyond the Black, here 🤗 I think Jennifer Haben did sing for Disney channel and is a pop-trained singer. As a young adult, she joined the (symphonic) metal world for our best joy! She's definitely one of my top 5 singers. The musicians of BTB are excellent, but so many bands are... Jennifer makes the difference with the pop background in her voice. Also, Beyond the black are quite popular (being I think several times part of the lineup of Wacken festival, masters of rock, ... charted in Germany and other countries, having certainly 50+M views on YT, ...)

Loved the whole video, clicked specifically because I saw braid in there! 90s emo is kinda my hyperfixation musically so maybe I'll hit the patreon and suggest some more songs that could be puzzle pieces regarding what really makes emo tick as far as musical characteristics. A Dozen Roses has always felt like an odd one out even within Braid's catalogue which is in general way more fugazi than midwest emo. Anyway love your thoughts as always!!!
As a big fan of emo I'm always down for more suggestions in that area.
