Fun project! The hot soak for labels worked great... For any remaining glue i would recommend vegetable oil or olive oil..takes remains of sticky labels right off
That was amazing
I like the wine bottle slumping - it's cool! I wanted to tell you that the labels will come off also with vinegar and dish detergent. This takes off the glue also, so they are slick as a whistle.
Gig , Brillo pads with hot running water works Fast & Easy on the glue !!! Done it hundreds of times !!

That was pretty good test to have a success at the end.
Try Goo Gone you can get it at Walmart works real good getting glue and labels off. may need to clean with acetone afterwards.

Hot water with oxyclean, sit for 20 minutes. Can’t beat it, labels just fall off
