  • A rather long video of the all new Harley Street 750. Apologies for the length of this vid but I didn't really want to break it up into 2 parts.
I decided to put some urban riding footage in as this is probably where this bike will spend most of its time. But later in the vid I take it to the countryside for the obligatory thrashing!

Great video. Have had my 750 a few months now with V&H Comp pipe with all the baffles removes. Sounds awesome and pops and bangs on a closed throttle. Have had all sorts before, from Vespas to ZXRs and most types in between. This is my first Harley and I love it. Was between this and a 1200 Iron. The 750 just rides so much better. It's very stable, accelerates quick enough for me and stop swell enough if you use the rear brake too. I
It could do with a rev counter as it hits the limiter early. The keyless start and auto alarm from the 1200 would be nice too, but this is much cheaper.
One very happy Harley owner here!

Finally a propper review of the Street, much more enjoyable and informative then those "let's cruise around" ones, that i found. Subbed. Cheers.

From my searches on UA-cam, you are the only reviewer that I have found that rides the Street 750 flat out, WOT, to redline, through curvy roads, and actually reviews it as a motorcycle.
Most of the American reviewers ride it so slowly it looked barely faster than a CB250.
    Edit.
Oh and I forgot to say great review I really enjoyed it. The speed through those country lanes was intense. 😎👍

Bennie , great review of the Street 750 by a very skilled rider , you rode this to near full potential. Really enjoyed your review ! Cheers.

This American believes your review is probably the fairest unbiased for/against that I have seen. As a future first time buyer I was able to see I wouldn't be disappointed with it being too slow.

This video is all I need to see . The Street 750 looks like it can do everything that would please me. Its fast enough and looks easy to ride. The salesman at the HD shop told me if I take the Harley Learn to ride course, I would get $500 off on a new Harley Motorcycle and a discount on insurance. Plus, I dont have to take the driving test after the written test.

These are the type of reviews I like to see, no nonsense lets see what this bike can do review, it is a motorcycle after all so it needs to be ridden like one. Can you please do a ride review on the street rod 750.

The problem with the other reviewers is that they ride this bike like a standard cruiser. But, this bike is design like a street semi sport bike. It’s design to run it hard to maximize its potential. It’s a fun bike regardless what they say.

I'm thinking of buying one of these. I'm 32 years old, passed my DAS 18 months ago and looking for a bike to commute, ride to mates houses, and the odd longer haul (sub 2hrs). I love cruisers, but I don't think they are very suitable for our roads in England, this thing seems to have a good Harley style to it but also the agility for city riding and commuter traffic riding. I test rode one at the weekend and was VERY impressed. It was so smooth, I loved the smooth gearbox and even took it up to 110mph without any struggle (on a private road of course). I test rode an 883 as well but wasn't impressed with it at all in comparison. This was a good review, thanks a lot... but you should really put the Vance & Hines Street Cannon pipes on it ;)

      @benniehitchcock  8 років тому

I don't reckon you'd go far wrong with one of these as your first bike bike. Like you say, It suits UK roads and it's easy to live with. You can cruise on it, commute and tear up b roads! The bike in this vid did have the v&h pipes fitted. It sounds pretty good irl, but doesn't really come through that well in the vid though. The stock pipe sounds shit. You have to budget for a loud exhaust if you own a Harley!

+Bennie Hitchcock Cheers Bennie :) I've since found a very good condition pre-owned Kawasaki VN900 Custom and think I'm going to be buying that one. I think it fits my cruiser styling a bit better and I prefer the feet-forward sitting position.

The streets sold in America and Canada are built in Kansas city, Missouri.Which recently announced will be closing its doors. You can speculate on the reasoning of the closure being America's trade war and likely be correct.

Thanks for this mate, very thorough and made my decision a bit easier. My main concern is how easy it is to scrape the footpegs/exhaust heatshield etc. What are your thoughts on it? I'm mainly city commute and motorway for long distance, but around the lanes it's nice to chuck it about wthout worrying about it!
    Cheers for the review.

    • @benniehitchcock
      @benniehitchcock  8 років тому +1

+Andy Reynolds Thank you. I'm glad you found it informative. That's all I hope for with these vids tbh.
I was worried it might be a bit long, but I felt the bike deserved a slightly more thorough review (thorough for me anyway!) compared to some of my other vids, as this was a bike that people might actually buy.
As far as scraping the pegs go, it's not really an issue. It has way better ground clearance that the majority of cruisers. Truth be told, I'm not really riding this bike how it should or would be ridden by most owners. I'm leaning this bike too hard into the corners, but it does respond surprisingly well to that style of riding!
Besides, it's kinda fun to scrape the pegs and it doesn't really cause any damage. You can replace the pegs easy enough.
This was the Vance & Hines exhaust, so I can't tell you if the standard exhaust heat shield scrapes or not. But tbh, the only time the v&h exhaust scraped, was when there was a pretty extreme camber in the road.
Certainly in urban riding, i can't really remember scraping anything.
The stock michelin tyres are probably a larger limiting factor when it comes to cornering. Very flat shape to them. Would be intersting to see if Avon have an alternative. Not a heavy bike, so you don't really need the usual heavy duty cruiser tyres.

The Harley 750 is approx 5600 pounds in America. I don't think Harleys are as cheap for Americans as you believe. Yes they are an American company but they keep prices just above the competitive bikes from other countries. Some instances Harley gouges Americans because some people are hardcore Harley fans. Check out the US Harley site. In US dollars, the 750 is $7500.00, on the Kawasaki site, the Vulcan S is $7,099.00. I picked up the 2016 and has a much better front break, The new 2017 has abs.and a Tachometer. Great video. Thanks.

Great video!. I live in USA. I am 50 yrs. old with only about 6000 miles of riding experience. I have not ridden a motorcycle in 8 years due to a car running through a red light and hitting me. Do you think that this is a good bike for someone like me who wants to ride again?

What's your opinion on the 4 announced bikes for 2019-2022. Pan American Adventure bike, Live wire, Street fighter, and The 1250 custom? Hell, in the announce video it even shows lil electric bicycles. Hopefully the world does not give up on Harley and America will elect a president with a beard next.

The Harley badge isn't big enough to hide all the cut corners. There are many better motorcycles for the same price or less. The Triumph Street Twin is so much more motorcycle. The Harley could cost 1/4 less and still be overpriced.

The biggest problem with the V-Rod was that they called it the V-Rod. The traditional Harley fan would never want something called a V-Rod between their legs, and the traditional "non-Harley" fan just thinks, "Oh, there go the idiots over at Harley, trying waaay too hard."

+Anthony Valentin Rode one recently. Didn't get it on film though sadly. Brief summary: Poor brakes, good balance, handles and turns well. Feels easier to throw around than the softails and the engine feels a
little more responsive too. It's quite vibey being a dyna. Noticable at lower revs, but smooths out at mid revs.
Not too sure how comfy it would be over a long distance but it can't be worse than a 883 or 48!
Not usually a fan of mini apes, but they look right on this bike. The bike looks great overall I reckon.

And just what do you get with that money? That's also in black without ABS, traction control, riding modes or LED headlights. For that price you'd expect some name brand parts, too, but no. House brand brakes and suspension and they are both pretty shit for the price.

I'm pretty sure Great Britain refers to the land mass that's made up of Wales, England and Scotland. So while Great Britain wouldn't be wrong, neither would England.

Ill design my own bike source parts from different countries that manufacture leather, aluminum parts etc... and that might be the perfect bike for me! This review perhaps is just a subjective point of view of someone whom you trust in riding a motorcycle in general the reason why we are watching It simply has no bearing with our own experience with the bike lets not get carried away or else you would likely become one of them fashion victims like the other clowns out there..
