That triangle at 8:00 is a cam that wedges itself into the wall as load is applied to the bridge. It's freaking genius and beautiful to watch. It's basically acting like the rocker in pushrod suspension. Edit: Also note they left a quad instead of solid triangles below the outside road pieces, so it can deform while the cam is rotating but still hold the road up. It's such a gorgeous solution.
i knew the rotation was driving the wedge into the wall. i thought that was obvious, surprised matt didn't understand that. i didn't know it was a mechanical engineer thing.

snorkel paddy is very impressive indeed. RCE breaking for Allan's Dong overload is funny - Matt promissed we will see it in pretty much every video and eventualy turned it into his signature. Basicaly i support people playing with their strongest shapes and or concenting partner's for great fun.
For the wall braces at 7:34, I assume the wood triangles are on the braces so that the bridge can flex more easily. The bridge is designed to bend and flex, so without those triangles and having a more stiff brace like yours, the compressive force between the solid wall and the bridge would be dealt by the wood itself. By having those wood triangles there, they create extra nodes so that the brace can fold a bit more without snapping and handle the bridge's bending.
the wall braces on the one are designed to switch to use tension when the truck is over it and pressing down on that side and when the truck is on the far side give compression so the other side can be tension. it's just a brilliant little mechanism.
Day nine of asking Matt to add the Second Narrows Bridge, Ironworkers Memorial to the Wheel of Bridgetune It is a cantilevered truss bridge, carrying 6 lanes of traffic from Vancouver to North Vancouver in B.C. across the second narrowing of the Burrard Inlet. It's name comes from the fact that it collapsed twice during construction, which unalived 23 people in total (Hence the name, ironworkers memorial).
That 1st bridge triangle thingy that you didnt understand is basically a "Rocker Arm" and automobile engineers use it as a suspension connecting Wheels A-arms to the piston, its not used in commerical cars but in Formula Style Race cars. Now thats a bridge that only a Mechanical Engineer can make! An Engineer nevertheless😤
Matt, the wall braces on the cheapest one works like the rear suspension of various racing cars. The further down the bridge pushes, the harder the triangle presses into the wall because of the rotation. Whoever built that one was a real-ass engineer, or they got really lucky. I would pretty much have to go looking for what else they built to know the difference , and I haven't, so I don't know. (Four link suspension is one of the things I'm talking about)
I’m 14 and even I understand how the wall braces of the 8:10 bridge work,I mean the triangles, the weight of the truck and tre bridge presses a peace of wood, which is connected to the triangle down, that presses the triangle against the wall, what keeps the wall up
I'm not surprised that that cover was funny. I've come to expect that. What does surprise me is how freaking good it was. I want to make that my ringtone

At around 15:00, you mention wood being lighter than steel. In the previous Poly Bridge games, I think I remember that different types of material don't affect the structure's weight, rather, it is the joints that actually affect weight. That is, more joints = more weight. Did Poly Bridge 3 "fix" that? Does steel actually weigh more than wood now?
I think the thing with the first bridge in the gallery you viewed with the weird wall braces was giving the pieces the ability to flex without crushing the wood. Notice how the triangular wall braces kinda pivot back and forth? I’m guessing that’s how they got away with it. Your wall braces were not able to compress, so they would break if they got squashed too hard. His braces pivot along the corner of the triangle (and the anchor up top also looks like it rotated to provide extra length so the pieces up there didn’t break from over extension) so the entire bridge can sag and move without breaking any of the supports it looks like.
Just a little Funfact: The other Propaganda you saw at the "highest Budget" option (The "Zombey" and the huge top hat) Is a german UA-camr called Zombey who is currently doing Polybridge as well and his community does Propaganda as well :3 (I find it very cool that in his videos I see your Propaganda in the gallery and in your video I see his propaganda)
