      Thanks so much. I wanted to make my video as informative as possible from 1st hand experience. Actually I was frustrated when I was researching online. I could tell a lot of the authors who wrote like top 10 lists haven't even stayed at the hotels they are recommending! It's crazy it was all about them putting links so they get a commission when you book. Well I hope you enjoy your stay in paradise!

      Thanks mate. I put a lot of work into that one, it's my longest video ever! Actually when I was researching top resorts in Boracay most sites I looked at I could tell the author hadn't even been to the resorts. It was just links to other sites to get commission. How can you trust someone's opinion if they have never been? Crazy, so I decided I'm going to check them all out. Even if people don't agree with my opinion at least they know it's coming first hand. Hopefully you will enjoy the paradise of Boracay soon 🏝🍹

    Very thorough, informative, and objective reviews. I've been researching Boracay by watching numerous videos, but yours is the best. One-stop-shopping. Those Tree House Villas at the Shangri-la look like my favorite. Especially if the balconies are open air? Hard to tell in the video?

    • @FindingParadise
      @FindingParadise  Рік тому +2

      Thanks. When I was looking at Boracay I was frustrated with what I found. A lot of the content for best resorts were clearly written by people who had not even stayed at some of the resorts and they were just pasting images from the web. Or they were just links to affiliate sites so they get a cut when you book. People may not always agree with my opinion but at least it's coming from experience. I wanted to help people make informative decisions. So yeah I put a lot of work into it. Anyhow the balcony on the Tree House is open air. It's an awesome place to watch the sunset sitting in that jacuzzi! If you book that room type you'll love it! Have fun!

      I'm planning a trip soon to visit with my Filipina girlfriend. Palawan and Cebu are on the shortlist along with Boracay. Looking for a place right in the beach with that white sand and clear Bluewater. Will be my first trip, hope to stay 4 weeks or so. I will fly into Manila and rendezvous first with her. If you have any suggestions for a shortlist other than Boracay, I'm all ears?

      @@chasvonplatten1298 Thanks. I haven't been to Palawan. What I do like is Bantayan Island in the north of Cebu - low key place with great beaches. I'm currently in Bohol - I'm kinda currently doing the same as what I did in the Boracay videos. I really like it here, lots to do - just a fantastic place. I also like Siquijor.

    • @chasvonplatten1298
      @chasvonplatten1298 Рік тому

      @FindingParadise Nice! Bohol shows up frequently in expat vids I've seen. Not familiar with the other you mention "Siquojor". Sounds like you've got a pretty good gig going there! I'm sure each place has its own charm. As I say, I guess the hope is to get the best of all worlds. I guess Boracay's downside is its being touristy and therefore pricier as well. Then again, I'm not really wanting to rough it either so one needs to pick their poison. Curious, do you have any opinion on best months to visit Boracay or similar? Noticed in some videos the shallow water appears to be filled with green algae. Is there any rhyme or reason to best weather and water conditions or is it a roll of the dice?

    • @FindingParadise
      @FindingParadise  Рік тому +1

      You're spot on with Boracay. As far as the algae that's been a big erk with the island for years. You ask the locals about it and they are all coy about it, so you never get a straight answer. And you know it affects the tourist dollar there so I can understand their glossing over the subject. One Feb I went there was hardly any and the following year (Feb as well) there was tons of it. But as the weather warmed up it did clear up. It's got to do with water temperatures being ideal for it grow. Plus they were pumping the sewage into the ocean for years which would still have some of it stuck in the sands for years. If you google Boracay Algae you see tons of info on it. Supposably it's not dangerous, but it does look ugly! Around the Shangri la they don't have the same problem. For me the best time to travel is March/April. It's a lot drier but it does get stinking hot. By mid March the winds start die down and the waters are generally flat for a month or so. Waters look gorgeous then! This year (in Bohol anyhow) so far has been wetter than usual. If you're with your girl I'm sure you have a good time what ever the weather!

      I would take a look at Shangri-la, Crimson and Auhana (if they suit you budget). I'm not familiar with the toddler menu as I'm a solo traveller. You could message the resort direct or check their website. Hope you have a great time, i saw Boracay was having a bit of rain of late. Hopefully you'll have some nice weather. Take care

    👋 Luv luv your content by the way how do you transfer from one hotel to another in Boracay? To book a shuttle from the hotel? Heard others say to catch your next hotel’s shuttle at D’mall? Which is more efficient traveling with kids?

    • @FindingParadise
      @FindingParadise  Рік тому

      Thanks for that. Some hotels offer free transfers/pick ups others paid. So email the hotel your staying at to see what they offer. Otherwise they can get a e trike to pick up although they may charge a little extra - the hotel staff all seem to know as they do it all day. I transferred between so many hotels and was easy. I don't think i waited more than 10 minutes at most for transport. If you're staying at station 0 the fare is a bit more I think from memory arournd 200 -300p. Hotel shuttles to/from the D'mall are scheduled, they may have 5 or 6 runs so you will need to time it or speak to the hotel prior to work it out. Cheers

      Thanks for the feedback. I didn't want to dwell on prices that much because they have been steadily increasing this year as tourism picks up. It's just there for a reference. I always encourage people to check directly with the resorts for latest rates and promos. Things change too much with supply and demand. When I was there the rate was for the room and most included the breakfast.

      I think all these resorts are great and I would stay anytime at all 10. I tried to show the pros and cons of each. I do prefer a few more resorts a little better, which is how I ranked them. Staying at station 0 which Movenpick, Crimson and Shangri-la are located, is a nicer area if you want it a little quieter than White Beach. Hope you have a wonderful honeymoon there.

    What months do u recommend visiting Boracay (to avoid the algae in the water)?

    • @FindingParadise
      @FindingParadise  Рік тому

      It's not a straightforward answer. I've been there 1 February and there was hardly any. Then February the next year there was lots! It depends on the right (wrong) conditions that the algae thrives in. Stuff like the right water temperature and other factors. When I was there February last year there was lots of algae. It started to die off during March. I did try to ask locals there about it but they don't really give you a straight answer!

    What are the best non-algae covered sunny sky months to visit the island?

    • @FindingParadise
      @FindingParadise  2 роки тому +1

      Well I was there in Feb 2020 and there was basically none. When I was there in Feb 2022 there was lots! I stayed until mid May and it had cleared up a lot with the warmer weather. I asked locals about it and you don't really get a straight answer, they don't want to say anything bad about it. It depends on weather really, if the waters are warmer the algae tends to die off. If there's rain around the run off into the the ocean (with the pollutions from the land) causes it to grow. So what I'm saying there's a number of factors so each year is going to be different.

    • @FindingParadise
      @FindingParadise  2 роки тому +1

      And for sunny days best time is around late March till the end of April. Although you can get the odd rainy days if there's a low pressure system passing!
