Dude, are you an engineer? You did exactly what us engineers do to determine ride comfort. Thank you! Great info! I go cross country all the time and I and am about to buy a FJR1300. This is exactly what info I need as i want max comfort.... Because i am getting old 😉
It really does make a big difference! I wish I would’ve had it on my trip late last year. One of the first accessories one should buy when getting a FJR.
Thanks for putting this information up bud! I'm having a hard time deciding between this and the Yamaha Touring version. I'm 5'9 175# and 32" inseam. Did you mention how tall you are? Thank you.
No problem 👍 the helmet is a Shoei Note 2. I wouldn't recommended as it's too loud. I am thinking of switching already because of the wind noise and the SLR system from Sena SUCKS and its not a cheap helmet
@@jdbmoto Thank you. Sorry but one last question, do you happen to know how much taller this screen(VStream Touring) is than the Yamaha Touring Windshield? I have not been able to find that on internet. Thanks again.
The windshield is a deterrent but a most when doing long distance touring. Otherwise the motorcycle performs flawlessly in about every other way. Thanks for watching!
@@jdbmoto So say a freedom shield ( no association but had on on another bike- bomb proof seemingly scratch proof and huge diff in buffeting) can’t be scaled down in terms of height and accomplish similar performance ?
What to you know and think of the National Cycle Sport/Touring version as I'm the same size as you with the same concerns. Maybe the S/T would split the difference?
Thank you... for telling me about the two screws on the bottom of the plastic cover. I've got a new '08 FJR and I'm changing the windshield (to a SMALLER size! i want a SPORT-tourer).
I think ter are differences in taking plastic cover off from year to year I have 2007 ae model how does plastic cover come off so I can change windshields
I am 177cm so a little shorter than you. I found the best setup for the shield, to be a about 1/4 or 1/2 way up. If I raised the windshield all the way up I got more buffeting at highway speeds. Thanks for watching!
@jdbmoto if you raise it all the way up, you still hear the wind noise? I thought it is silent? Please let me know, since I ordered yamaha tall windshield and I can cancel it at anytime to replace with v stream. The only difference is the look. I ki d of prefer the stock look but taller, but I donmind to get the v stream as long as it is quiet. I need quietness, don't care too much about the wind to the body.

Im a nurse, but thank you! Hope your FJR gives you many happy miles like mine did during my ownership.
Hi I have one on my FJR 2003 for two years, I love it, huge difference from that factory!

@@jdbmoto yes a agree :)

I’m 5’10 and 30 inch inseam
Good Video !
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Tks for the test! Thinking about a V-stream . You helmet looks great , what brand and type is it?
No problem 👍

@@jdbmoto Tks so much ! I am considering a EVO II. from Shark now
Ok I'll check for Allen key holes on plastic thx
Great video. Was the Yamaha windshield the regular or touring one?
Yes it was the standard windshield.

Can you still bend the mirrors inside with the Vstream ?
I have a 2005 model with abs
Yes sir!
@@jdbmoto Thnx 👍
Like the bike just not the common height of many windshields on these bikes 🤦🏻♂️

I have one on my FJR... way better than the stock screen....
Yes it is! Very nice upgrade
Good video. I'm always looking for FJR info. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed the video. Very versatile motorcycle! Going on close to 9k in 11 months of ownership

I am afraid I don't know the difference. My preference if I can find one would be a Cee Bailey, but those are incredibly hard to find
Depending on your height the v stream works great for taller riders. I put on my 2016 ES. NO REGRETS 👌😁😂🤣
Exactly!
It's a pity that in the current situation, I can't order V-Stream to Russia...
Sorry to hear! Governments make decisions without regard to consequences
Hey guys I have a 2007 how do you take off plastic cover on windshield
There is going to be two Allen screws at each corner of the black trim. Make sure to use the appropriate size so you don’t strip it. Hope that helps!

You have to look closely because they are there, mine is a 2008 so I know there aren’t any changes. Maybe from 2005 to 2006 but not our years
How tall you are, I am 183 cm, is this 22" windshield will be tall enough for me?

@boenq1908 I found it best about halfway when I had the FJR. All the way up for some reason i was getting some wind turbulence.
Great video! Very informative!
Glad it helped, hope it makes your decision making an easier one.
