I love that Retsuko's mother is giving Haida a second chance in this scene, and it really showed how Retsuko finally made up her mind being in a relationship with Haida, helping them in their hardest times. this season just hits different

I was fully ready for her to go ballistic over her daughter’s choices given that she literally broke into her home, but I’m kinda happy to see the mother is at least willing to let Rettsuko make her own choices, even if she doesn’t necessarily agree with them.
She *is* an adult, yeah. Comes with the territory.
Honestly, I think she's just being passive-aggressive here. Pretending she doesn't care and just submitting.
You know in a way Rettsuko is a hero. She’s willing to look after Haida while going through this slump. If I were her mother I’d be very proud and totally understand.

Retsuko's mom is hella toxic. She essentially broke into her apartment and made a spare key without her consent. She's controlling and borderline stalking. Switching back and forth between thinking she can control her life like she's still a child and saying you should do X because you are an adult.
You don't know what true toxicity is. If this got you stressing.
I gotta say I’m actually impressed with her for actually respecting her daughter’s bounties for one in your life.

Wasn’t she the one ragging on about retsuko getting a boyfriend ALL throughout season 2.
Dude some parents be like this sometime and I don’t know why. They’re like “when are you getting with someone? If you wait to long you’ll be too old to marry! Blah blah” then when you finally get someone they either hate the person or they think you’re rushing into things and should date more people before settling down.

Getting in and having a relationship versus living together are completely different. Living together with your partner is a huge commitment, especially when you're not even married yet. It can add strain on both partners and may even cause unnecessary tension. Haida may have been a special case, because he went broke and homeless in a single night, but the semantics of a couple living together still apply.
Retsuko and Haida made it work, as they, spoiler alert, got married at the end of the season. Haida was able to find a job to support himself, but they were close enough to make their living arrangements permanent.
@@CloudBomb3r I would say living together before marriage is less commitemnt since you can always move out if youre broken up vs a divorce.

Honestly, I wouldn't put it past them. Japan has TONS of live-action adaptations of anime. FMA, Bleach, Death Note (like, 3, I think), Ouran Highschool Host Club, Attack on Titan, and JoJo.

Personal hot take, but Retsuko's mom is really annoying 😅 I know story wise she represents an older generation during a time when it felt like an obligation to follow certain societal rules. But still, she could at least respect her daughters privacy and stop making copies of keys.

Cultural walls really hit people hard in the comment section of every aggresuko video I have seen. Different places have different standards, why might not like some things they do, they might not like it either, but it’s not for us to decide.
In Asia, parents really have the final say in many things, dating, work, personal life. It’s just a different culture, things are changing, but in their own accord.
