  • Hello family , welcome to my UA-cam channel iam_marwa , i hope you have enjoyed this video. WE ARE IN HARARE ,
    Zimbabwe is a landlocked country in southern Africa known for its dramatic landscape and diverse wildlife, much of it within parks, reserves and safari areas. On the Zambezi River, Victoria Falls make a thundering 108m drop into narrow Batoka Gorge, where there’s white-water rafting and bungee-jumping. Downstream are Matusadona and Mana Pools national parks, home to hippos, rhinos and birdlife.

    Harrare, Zimbabwe seem like a very well kept and clean modern city, which is not like what the western media has been portraying out of hatred.. I actually like the city life there. I once worked with a Black PhD student at a Los Angeles County Juvenile hall back in the1980's who eventually married a beautiful UCLA Black female Amercan Track star who also worked at the same Juvenile Hall.. One of the best people I have ever met. I remember him saying that he would return back to Zimbabwe later after he completed his PhD doctoral program. I still remember his last name was "Chinawa" or Chinaiwa because I'm not sure of the spelling..

Back in segregated rural northeast Louisiana racist towns where Blacks were discriminated from obtaining decent salary jobs, most Black people did not have to lock their doors during he daytime, and we slept with our windows open with a fan at night time when it was hot, and no one would come to harm us...

      This remark is also what I've noticed trough the videos Marwa has posted of Harare. It gives that feeling that one can move freely downtown without being too stressed of crimes or constantly have that in mind (I'm not implying that there are absolutely zero crime in Harare rather just saying the feeling it is giving to me compared to some other African big cities where one has to hide everything and walk fast because one is scared that something bad may happen if that attitude is not adopted).
      I don't know if really Zimbabweans are nice since I don't live there but these videos are giving the vibe of educated people, and the city of Harare is more organised than what I'd have thought. I'm really enjoying these series of vlogs.

      @@user-mx5hp6bf2i Zimbabwe is nice because everyone is busy minding their own business In Zimbabwe you only have problems if you attack Zimbabwean culture and government.Zimbabwe is not a "democracy " though in the western sense , some people see the government as part of culture as weird as that sounds it is what it is hence saying bad things about them they will take it personal then they start questioning who are you why are you there and be shown the door.However walking down the street in Harare CBD, malls etc no one will notice or cares generally being a good guest with your camera they will let you be or even go out their way to make you comfortable as they know you being a tourist means some other Zimbabwean somewhere is being paid.

    • @muchit3629
      @muchit3629 Місяць тому +1

      @@etruscancivilization Yes, she is already scarred because you can see she was hiding her bag. These thieves do not realize the trauma they cause by their actions. In Zimbabwe that is a crime i have never heard of because motorbikes are mostly used for deliveries not as a mode of transport as they do in East Africa, Latin America etc
      Also, Marwa did ask the host and he emphasized that if someone tried to steal they would be met with instant justice and at worst lose their lives because the Zimbabwean peopel and public in general do not tolerate thieves, or someone abusing anyone or others in public. If you do it there is a price to pay. Off course this is not absolute so one always have to be careful but there no phone thieves roaming around trying to snatch a phone. If you watch you could see ladies with their handbags walking freely.

    At the end of the video it appears that Marwa did not like the meals being posted in US dollars which was a bit more expensive for his taste. It must be realized that the US and many other Western nations placed many international sanctions and embargos on Zimbabwe simply because President Mugabe used land reform laws that allowed the indigenous Black population to retake farmlands that was stolen and robbed from them by white racist colonists. At one time the Zimbabwean money was traded so LOW until it became almost useless and caused many local consumers to suffer fiancially.. So it was an intelligent idea to start using the US dollar since their money was quickly being undervalued. However, Zimbabwe is not the only country that primarily uses the US dollar, but also some Latin American countries also accept the US dollar more than their own local currencies. Even in the Southeast Asian country of Cambodia uses the US dollar and visitors don't have to exchange their dollars for the local Cambodian Riel which is approximately 4000 riel for $1. Most restaurants, bars, steet hustlers and bar girls mostly take the US dollar and not their local currencies. From what I see in this video it appears that Zimbabwe is a lot cleaner and well kept than most African and Latin American countries, and better than many southern USA cities. I will place it on my bucket list and I will bring my US dollars and be very happy about it..

    • @muchit3629

      You should already know Marwa likes to keep his money which is good but at the same time we cannot take it with us. Latina girls have a special name for such guys is tacano, which is a joke or knock on men who do not like to spend. At the same time if you like to spend a lot they will bankrupt you in a New York minute.

      Marwa what you ate is sadza
      Slightly different to ugali
      If someone cooks ugali in Zimbabwe, we call it mbodza
      Which means not well cooked sadza. Most Zimbabweans like it soft & hot

    Marwa and Rocio you only need what is called a multiple entry visa and you can cross as many times. You likely had a single entry visa if you were concerned about crossing back and forth . I do not believe there is much of a difference in cost. For most countries when they give you a visa it is valid for the duration of the visa but yes this business of single entry visas is archaic.
