A few little things, the drill not placing near the end of the vid was due to a bug which has been fixed in the latest update, the dirt shredder is currently useless as large clumps of dirt are no longer created, you should add another filter to you system as 4 only reduces the damage by 80%, and the pressure tank is placed in a bad spot. Where the tank currently is you are losing 33% pressure by the time the water gets to the first drill (3% times 11 Pipes) leading to reduced ore quality.
Where is the best place to put the pressure tank??
So, 5 filters should reduce damage by 100%? That's weird, I'm running 5 filters and still some machines break from time to time.
Edit: Testing it right now. Actually, the stuff doesn't get damage anymore. Either I'm mistaken on when I've installed 5 filters or today's update fixed that.

the shredder isn't useless, it does actually convert the dirt to a ball that turns into bigger resources, at least in the case of the cloutium, which will turn the dirt into a form the iron harvester can't process. i agree it isn't required, but it does do a thing.
@@baylorbear6566 best place to put pressure tank is just before the drills or conveyors (pressure tanks restores pressure to intake value on this update). Before this update, pressure tanks was restore only 25% for tier 1 and 100% for tier 2.
by the way, if you overfill the forge it gives back the overflow as a new bar. I'm on my 6th miner now ^^ btw z you misread the scale, the top number the money worth or the ignot, and the weight at the bottom.

Z It doesn't help taking dirt from down below. Once you place T2 dirt on T1 dirt the game converts the dirt to T1. T1 dirt is around .3-.45 and T2 dirt is around 1. Hope this helps you.
I was going to say I couldn't see that being feasible to code into a voxel game like this. Like, it's much more resource efficient to just have dirt use local area values than the dirt itself to have its own value. Like, it is doable, but that would be more expensive on your system than what I said.
Z1 really needs to get conveyers to bottom layer dirt to really speed up his mining.
One tip Z: Don't forget to put the Gem Polisher on the conveyor before sorting gems in to the Gem press, Raw gems can't be Pressed any more. I usually sort them last (no sorter need). My sorting looks like this: Harvester > Conveyor > Conveyor (polisher) > Conveyor (Slope) > Sorter (Iron) > Sorter (Gold) > Sorter (Shards) > Sorter (Cloutium) > Gem Press, also put funnels right beside sorters and furnaces below. :D

P.S. You can buy weight counter and use it for resources for smelting a certain amount of each resource type, I usually use them with electric furnace to be able to stop the production while building the Bar (it takes 2 seconds), so I stop the drills and conveyors for that period (prevents resources dropping thru electric furnace) or u can use magnet above furnace to hold resources for 2 seconds as well :D
You can dump dirt from a shovel directly onto a straight (not elevator) conveyor belt.
If you have a line of conveyors running away from your dig-hole, you can process all that dirt super easy.
on the subject of lag at the start i think you were looking for the term ASSET so instead of a pan holding a multitude of assets in a single place the smelter converrts it all into a single asset to avoid lag
Pressure boost hooks for the intake are both cheap and amazing, totally worth it. They make a nice progression before you are able to craft your first drill, and the 80% pressure boost remains fantastic.
Hey Z, if you don't want your machines to break, use 5 filters and not 4. Also, The Belt Grinder is not needed for now because the Chunks are the same size for Tier 1 & 2 Drills. Max still has to Implemented the Chunk Sizes for 2.0 as of yet. Love Your Vids!!! 👍
So its not 2.0 ita more like 1.8 and 1.9? We went from 1.7 straight to 2.0 yet he left out and removed alot of atuff

I would like to see down the road maybe a quest thing. Or people in the towns wanting to buy items. Ex: Bob wants a ruby ring with a weight value of 500 gold. At first they had where you just sold ore then it was craft weapons and thing. I think the next step would be NPC. They do not have to move or talk just click and show what they want with a basket at there feet.
Z1 no worries on the iron ammount, you get the materials refunded if you have to much iron or cloutium. i have a bar just sitting there wich was weighing on 1000 so i can just make more drills if i need them.
the plot at icehelm is horizontal not vertical so you mine into the wall behind where you buy the plot
Z, just FYI for speed's sake, you can just hold the bar or item over the scale without dropping it and it will still show the weight.
Icehelm has the new horizontal mining. You can't mine the ground with all the molten metal and the area where the belt and drop off area are part of the purchase but not minable. You have to dig into the back walls. Though the T1 dirt section of the back wall alone was lucrative. I built ramp and platform structure up 3 blocks and then dug a cave mouth into the wall before openign it up to a cavern along the t2 dirt intersection. Ran 7 drills along the back row of t1 dirt with their pipes placed into the t2 dirt and with a U shaped loop going in front of them back around to the harvester and then out to a 1 block drop out to a sorting belt built along the wall itself. All dropping into smelters. Turning out hundreds of pounds of gold and iron every half hour and it took it only 2 or 3 hours to gather the last 250 or so pounds of cloutium I needed for my first t2 drill and harvester. Currently digging back and up to repeat it for the T2 cavern. (I estimate the wall is tall enough to have four floors of mining operations, each floor being 3 blocks high using the grid building system as a measure and wide enough I could probable expand the t1 to have 10 drills. I haven't done the digging but I think the two dig spots connect into one behind the stone wall where the site purchase bin was at.)
Z1 gaming lifeafter is like the other base building games you played before but it's more complicated than the regular base building games
in the lava area you build in the cave. though the actual mining dirt is on the walls in the cave. you actually get a lot of dirt from buying that plot and the resources from the dirt are the same as the surface
So then why buy it if its the same paydirt as the surface?

When you weighed the iron, you looked at the value instead of the weight.
Z has a curse in that he doesn't always read the entire pop up. Like only reading the first sentence for the mine blueprint.

Regarding the Forge Basement Mine: The floors are not dug or compatible with drills. You dig into the WALLS.
Final note: just upgrading your intake pipe speeds everything up significantly.
upgrading your pipes would help immensely.
Make sure your booster is near your machines, it brings it to the pressure of the inlet and every pipe after it removes a 3% pressure for the iron pipes. Closer to the drills reduces the amount of pressure lost
Hey Z. To use the Forge you have to smelt the required weight of iron (the bottom number on the scale) and put that in the forge. You did everything else right. Its just you were using a bar that weighed 50 and not 300. Don't waste your money purchasing the place. It only gets you the bottom section.
Make sure you start to dig down? Every 8 blocks or so is a new tier of dirt with bigger nuggets and rarer types of resources like onyx and cloudium.

It does not matter if you take dirt from the bottom and put them under the drills, once the dirt it placed down on the surface it's considered surface dirt. The machine has to mine it at a lower level. You can shovel dirt into a pan in the lower level and high high tier output.
This update definitely increased the playability of the game. I played before the update and got bored pretty quick, this time around I'm enjoying having to gather resources to make new machines. Also I did attempt to mine in the cave and I couldn't get it to work myself but could have been operator error
The plot in the mine is horizontal -- you have to dig into the wall, not the floor!
Another tip I saw on other youtube channel, you can get better dirt by just placing the miner at the bottom, 1 tile up from bedrock; then a bunch of conveyors making a stair to the top.

Doind this should probably take around the 1h you waited to collect ores.
Mining under Iceholm is done on the walls and not the floor. So vertically and not horizontally. BTW u need to move your Power Boosters (With the crystal in it) They changed how they work, with an Iron Intake u get 100% pressure, and every pipe the water goes through loses 3%. Putting the booster next to the machine makes the pressure go back to 100%
Actualy its not 3% but 3 poins the same goes with preshure boosters that can be attached to intake pipe

with the problem you had placing the drill, Max did fix that issue after you recorded this by placing the on/off levers on the front of the machines as those were what caused it to not let you place them side by side
you need to put the drills at the bottom to get the good drops, the dirt doesn't determine it, but rather the absolute y-coord of the drill

@@bboy9247 does for me. With just 2 iron drills, im pulling in about 2k lbs in Gold in about 30 minutes to an hour.
Does it work on the very bottom (bedrock?) where you cant mine anymore? I left a layer of dirt for my drills in the 1st mine.
Tier 1 machines only get top dirt level but cloutiom can get different levels!
I love the new update. A few tips, your pressure tank needs to be right next to the first machine, and you need to have 5 filters to remove the damage to the machines, and finally you can use a cloutium intake to give you much more better pressure at your machines and conveyors.
So satisfying when you craft your first drill. :) Awesome video Z1, keep it up!
In the place with the large forage the ground with all the lava is not mineable from what I know but the room with the water source the floor and wall can be mined and I heard both sides. Also u need to get urself a pallet so when u by stuff u can stack it on the pallet and it locks stuff it in place when ur moving the pallet so u can have like 5 of the 90s 6 straight pipes and 4 t pipes on the pallet and u can pick up the pallet and move it all at once also can be stacked in the back of vehicle
In the dwarf mining area you actually dig into the walls and the dirt tiers go horizontally instead of vertical

Z, it looks like your issue placing the T1 Drill next to a preexisting T1 Drill was a known bug. I accessed Steam after watching your video to find a new update for Hydroneer and one of the fixes was SPECIFICALLY for that issue...

The reason it wasn't letting you at first was because the light of the machine was over lapping with the other which means your going to have to redo that every time you add a new one it's probably a bug that you can place it down on the other side like that
Just a helpful tip if u didn't know, hold e on ur keyboard with a bucket to have another way to place it down
You can press ‘E' when you are holding something that you own and see what happens

There is a certain way you can rotate those 1x1 concrete blocks so that they form a solid surface

On the scale the top number is the value and bottom is the weight, you need 300 weight to craft a iron drill
Split screen is the only multi-player format. Otherwise it's LAN or Online based multi-player. I've never seen a console project to multiple televisions.

When you looked at the value instead of the weight it triggered me
I'd get the Icehelm plot of land. sure its 7200, but easy means to make more machine and if you park your truck under that spout thing all the resources you want to sell land right into the bed of the truck.

I wonder if I can get help in building a good auto repair? so far I use this and not sure if my info helps as well.
I use A>=B T cable where A is connected to nothing that give a value of 0.
B is connected to Logic Durability Reader that give the vault of the water filter health.
The value of c or the outcome of A>=B will be 0 if B is greater then A that is 0 and if both A and B is 0 then the outcome or c will be 1 and active the Logic Spanner Hurling Unit.
So far the Logic Spanner Hurling Unit can hold up to 20 spanner and have been using 1 per every 0 health with me.
The water filter is on top of the pipe and the Logic Spanner Hurling Unit is on top of the water filter with the Logic Durability Reader on the side of the water filter and the pipe.
Looks like 5 water filters keep your other building form getting damaged.
To load the Logic Spanner Hurling Unit, pick up the spanner or tool box of spanner then run into the Logic Spanner Hurling Unit, the number on it should increase in how many spanner tools it have.

Dirt is valued at the level you place it, not where you dig it. So you can't bring the dirt up to get value. You need to put your drills near the bottom for good profits.

By the way, for default controls you can sprint with “L-Shift” and crouch with “C”
You put iron in that is worth 300 coins. You need a bar of 300 weight, not worth. You can also take the master work blueprint off the pedestal and pull the lever to get your unused iron back. And no you do not need to buy icehelm. Lol you realize it at 26:00
invest in some pressure boosters! they’re game changing. 4 will almost double your mining speed

Just a heads up, at least with the existing recipes, the more complex recipes have higher multipliers for their value. Simply taking the saw to a single bar twice to make the sword instead of the knife makes significantly more money for the resources used, there's never really a reason to make anything else, unless there's a massive stock market deal.

z you should mine to the bedrock layer and get some pay dirt and place the pay dirt underneath the drill and big gold nuggets and iron nuggets
That doesn't work the same now, he will have to mine it from the bottom, Placing Bottom lever dirt at the top changes it to top-level dirt.

in my opinion, the update is kinda nice, but I think it would be nicer if you could buy 2 drills in the beginning instead of one. otherwise, I think it looks nice (I haven't played the update yet).

Drills give you the level of the dirt where the drill is sitting. It doesn't matter where you get the dirt you throw under the drill.

IDD to clarify if u take dirt from the bottom and place it at the top it with then be considered top-level dirt when it is mined, the same goes for the opposite, if u take dirt from the top and place it at the bottom and mine it there it will be considered better pay dirt ( BTW Tier 1 miners only allow you to mine up to 8 blocks down)
@@Achilds01 is that what Dreck Quarry is, 8 block of t1 dirt? Bc the quarry is like 22 blocks deep. So that leaves 14 blocks of t2 dirt?
@@AlterEgo1987 Sorry, all I know is the 1st 8 blocks worth of all the plots is Tier 1 dirt then it changes to Tier 2 dirt requiring the Cloutnium equipment. After that is Tier 3 but it cannot be mined, The only way to clear Tier 3 atm are explosives or bombs.
@@Achilds01 i have noticed that dynamite only clears out T1 dirt. it doesnt touch T2 dirt. havent tried the nuke yet.
It'd be a bit expensive in terms of pipes and conveyor belts, but why don't you dig down and put the thumpers down on the bottom and just belt the dirt up to the rest of the machines? I think that might be a more lucrative way to get your best paydirt rather than trying to carry the dirt from below up to the surface. As for the giant forging anvil... I have to say, that thing looks Dwarven to me! Who better to forge your things than a Dwarf?
you need 300 weight thats why now how much it cost XD lol
1000 weight of iron wont be a problem, I have 10 drills, have no lag with old system, with 4 sorters, 4 cauldrons and gems going into a compressor and rock the gold and iron in, sold 2 rings for 18k and 25k each, its the cloutium thats the problem, its rare as hens teeth lol, even with 10 drills goiing for a couple of hours over 2 sessions i have got enough cloutium for one harvestor (100 cloutium) and have 35 C out of tje 300 i need for my first drill and thats on a second plot, iron drills suck at getting cloutium, going to have to grind it out.
You do not need the dirt grinder until Tier 3 dirt comes out in version 2.2

You can put dirt under the drills but if you put let's say tier 2 dirt under a drill on top soil you'll only get there dirt chunks as for the intakes I don't see why you wouldn't be able to put 2 intakes into one line wouldn't really help much but I assume you can
If each of those filters take up 1 space each, setting up an auto repair is gonna suck
