Verses are awesome.. Chorus needs a different look in my humble opinion in order to match the quality or your delivery on the verses. Maybe slow the chorus down and softer/lighter delivery almost like your nurturing your inner child with your words of encouragement.. You have a very nice voice. But why did you change the chords at chorus? It ruins the feeling of this song. Even Herbie Hancock left the basic chords as it is.
i think that's a good point. you have a very nice interpretation, but something is not quite right on the chorus. some of those chords define the feeling / essence of this song. maybe the lack of the female accompaniment is the real problem. not sure the song is complete without it. some of the falsetto helps, but something is lacking. i enjoyed what i heard, though - thanks.
