Hello Aluxers! What things are strange for rich people but normal for poor people in your experience? Mind Mastery: www.alux.com/mindmastery Get the free audiobook Money Master the Game: www.alux.com/freebook 15 RULES of MONEY: y2u.be/_emBcTU0wKo
#15 is something rich people don't understand...you can die as a result of snitching, its the same reason the victims of bullying don't report the bullies....coz once the authorities are gone so does the safety!
Rainbow soap. As a single mom I would add the little left over dish soap into one bottle. So I ended up with what my girls called Rainbow soap. Because of the different colours in there of yellow, green, white etc.
I was thinking as well. I know rich people, not wealthy people who use credit cards and pay off the monthly balance. They want freebies, cruises, plane tickets, hotel rooms, etc.
I remember when I had $5 in the bank account, and I had a week left until pay day. I needed gas, only had a bag of chips in my house, and had rent coming up in 3 days. Those are the days I'm never going back to. That was 3 years ago. Now I have a 4x better paying job, stocks, and two rental properties that generate me $1100/mo. I talk about my experiences and knowledge on my UA-cam channel. I'm so happy I busted my butt out of that situation AND NOW I plan to retire in 4 years (due to my real estate investments)!
Because they couldn't bear the sacrifices to make success in their lives and that is loneliness the thought of being alone because they believe loneliness is the state of being alone is sad and friendless & unbearable it's the sign of being a "loser"
It also is part of the "crabs in a bucket" mentality. If one of them wants to make something of themselves, the others will call their friend "too uppity" and try to put them "back in their place". I see it all the time on my mom's side of the family.
The credit-card thing is oversimplified: Very rich: use credit cards and pay them off in full, thereby getting a rebate from the credit-card company and sometimes other monetary benefits. Becoming rich; limited credit or breaking a habit of overspending: use debit cards Poor: use credit cards and have difficulty paying them off Very poor: can't get credit cards therefore use debit cards or cash
I make sure to use my credit card when i need 20 days to pay for what I need. The points I use to pay for my annual dues then donate the rest of my points to the charity of my choice.
Vic Belz reality? Poor decisions cause terrible conditions. We need voluntary parental licensing and laws to stop child poverty abuse: no food for kids= no more kids!
I live in the US as well. If you have the luxury of privacy (and land), you usually enjoy outdoor living in the rear of your property... In the garden, by the pool, etc.
@@MakeItSo_ST I have a patio. Everytime we sit on it, our creepy neighbors come out to see what we're doing, so we go to our front porch for the privacy.
I’m poor as dirt and I eat organic because it’s a long term health investment and less expensive than needing medical care for health conditions that could be prevented. Plus you can’t put a price on health; it’s priceless. I know that stereotypes exist for a reason, but not everyone who is poor fits this stereotype. Just my 2 cents 😉
going to fast food restaurants a lot, the foods are not healthy but if you compare to the homemade food you can make it is more expensive. but it doesn’t seem That way at first glance.

yeah...such opportunity is not always have to be legal or right....is just a matter of taking the opportunity. Some are better human beings than others.
Exactly I learned more than what had my parents taught because they're tired of me, as the last born son, hence I know more and henceforth lived more I belong to the poor or low-stable family
@@acarroll1714 NOBODY KNOWS WHO HE IS..... if the richest one that we know about is billions of dollars richer than everybody....can you imagine the ones we do not know about?????
Hun, not being a snitch has very little to do with skeletons in closets. It’s more about protecting you and your family. People have to worry about others seeking revenge. I don’t live that lifestyle, but yet I know that.
The debit card part is a bit off. Rich people still use credit cards to keep their credit score high so banks trust them to take out business loans to invest. OPM.
@@monacojones4367 Yes, exactly. It wouldn't have been much more effort to add a bit more nuance. If I hadn't have learnt this stuff from people like Robert Kiyosaki and Dan Lok I would have thought that I shouldn't use a credit card after watching this video. If you want to be rich, pay on credit but don't over rely on it. Use it with a clear plan and intention to pay it off every month.
@@amhedcabreja9480 Not really. It's for people who strive to become wealthy. I doubt the majority of the viewers are wealthy. “The place where future billionaires come to get inspired” is their positioning.
@@monacojones4367 True my aunt is rich, but not wealthy. She uses credit cards and pays them off monthly, she desired the freebies, free cruises, airline tickets, hotel rooms, etc. She loves deals.
My neighbors do this. My husband and I bought the ugly house on the block. I now have one of the nicest homes, but I dealt with construction going on around me while it was going on. The neighbors whine about how spoiled I am. They don't figure on the busted toilet or the leaking tub. They just see the finished project. I ignore them.
Alux you’re wrong on some of theses, rich people definitely fix their own shit too, some rich people don’t call police for various reasons, and rich people use credit cards too.
You are correct, but I think she's speaking in general. The shoe fits 95% of the time, that's enough to call it a trend of the poor even though 5% of rich may indulge in a few of them.
whomever is thinking that laws and their mechanisms of enforcement are here for any other reason other than to protect private property....are delusional.
15. In the black community this is common for a few different reasons 1 of the main reasons is they don't trust the police for historical and current reasons
They don’t trust the police because of historical and current propaganda. Black people also have a problem taking responsibility for their situation. This is why they blame all their problems on the police and white people
Lis Hurd yep. My uncle called the cops for a break in and he was arrested for disturbing the peace. The charges were dropped because they were outrageous but he should have never been arrested. Yes, the police are not our friends.
@@DewTime I have a great history book for you to read...Worse Than Slavery. It's a well researched book on what happened after emancipation. In short, owners sent their slaves packing with only the clothes on their backs. No one would hire them. If they stole something from a white person, they got hard time. White people really did not help them. Rather, they hindered them. By the way, it's written and researched by a white person.
The condescending nature of this video was disappointing, and seemed to encompass the stereotypical rich-snob-looking-down-their-nose-at-those-deemed-inferior perspective. Of the many Alux comparison videos I have learned from it appears they typically stay close to the facts by drawing comparisons to opposing perspectives. For some reason this one seemed to lack compassion for those who start poor. While there was some value in the different perspectives the narration on this segment needs a complete rework. Thank you. Upgrade.
Thanks Alux for making me realize how poor I am, but thanks for the wake up call, that means I need to do something to climb my way up there. I love your honesty Alux.
There is very little you can do to become rich, you should always strive to better yourself financially and emotionally. However don’t let charlatans like these lower yourself esteem, because you are poor. What they don’t tell you is that the majority of the wealth in America is inherited, and the few who are “self made” had incredible luck and were at the right place and time.
She forgot a lot of the clothes aspect. Instead of getting a nice pair of bespoke shoes and having them conditioned and re- soled and having them for years; poor people buy tons of cheap shoes and throw them out. They could have saved up for a low end pair of bespoken shoes and had them for years if taken care of. The poor never use shoe trees. Another pet peeve is when poor people come to work with clothing not starched or ironed, and all wrinkled. Even dirt poor in India have pressed and non wrinkled clothes. Also, even Untouchables in India sweep their property fronts with corn husks; but USA poor have filthy houses. Takes no money to keep your house clean.
I'm rather wealthy..but i still do these things: 05. Doing it yourself rather than hiring someone to do it. 11. Having someone you know pull your car when it breaks down.
Accuracy Marked yeah and the credit card decline thing. I’m upper middle and my family has like a lot of credit cards so when one doesn’t work just get a higher limit one
Accuracy Marked You make a good point. Also, I am not ‘rich’, but I don’t incur overdraft fees or have my card declined. AND I vote my interests, not always ‘Dem just because I am black’. ALUX often misses the mark but I view from time to time out of curiosity.
"Being rich is your duty" I love that quote because it's every persons duty to be rich and live a full, and fulfilled life with as many options as possible. I'm on my way! Currently have two rental properties that cash flow me $1100/mo! I talk about my experiences and knowledge on my UA-cam channel. It's all a mindset game!
This is the time that makes people wealthy. Invest in the discounted prices for the long-term, and you will be wealthy. Just stay the course. I'm doing that with my real estate! Currently two properties that cash flow me $1100/mo. I talk about my experiences and knowledge on my UA-cam channel!
I have noticed a strange paradox-When you’ve been rich for a while, life becomes boring and insipid and your kids don’t get the life experiences that others got by working at McDonalds when they were 15 years old.
I saw that rich life and poor life have different kind of experiences-problems-situations that you must find and live-solve-learn from. The mcdonalds example is a situation known by a lot of people but isnt the only situation
Vivek Shivdasani ...yes you are right....rich children at 15 are learning how to employ the poor kids that work at McDonalds at 15. They are learning a second or third language, learning art, history and philosophy so they can understand how the world works and how poor people think.
Some of those choices people make May not be the best but sometimes it’s just in the meantime. Sometimes, we wonder if it’s because they feel smart for getting away with it. That’s annoying.
5: I agree 99% except in little menial things. I hire almost everything out anymore myself because my time is worth way more than that. One thing that was an exception; I own a kitchenaid mixer that my wife and I have had for 10 years. It was starting to leave a dark grease spot on the counter every we used it. Thus there were 3 options: 1- Buy a new Kitchenaid mixer at $379 plus tax 2-Send it into Kitchenaid to have the grease taken out, replaced, mailed back in about 1 month+ and spend around $125+ for the maintenance and then around $30 for shipping: so; $155 3- $9.99 and 15 minutes of my time - Unscrew 7 screws, pull top off, scoop off grease, put new grease in, close lid. Complete Even at $250,000 per year or around $120 per hour, it still was a smart economical decision to do that myself. Else: ALUX YOU ARE SO CORRECT!!!!!!!
Upgrade - Number 10 hits close to home. It’s amazing how many poor parents rather see their kids work a miserable part time to help out financially instead of developing a lucrative skill 🙄 Also poor people tend to become waaayyy more jaded because they’ve seen the worst of people.
NOT ALWAYS.... there are very clear rules about this among the rich. You are expected to pay if= you made an invite or if you are the host. Then there is business etiquette to follow. You usually run with people who also know these rules so is never uncomfortable.
I'm a Wealthy Man that's finding a lot of these wrong i'm criticizing this whole thing now. Number 8 Is also right and wrong. The Poor do count there money. because they need to know if they have enough to buy. The Rich keep an eye on there money to. We know how much money is coming in and out at all times. Get it together ALUX. I'm not a billionaire but i'm very wealthy. and your list is only half right.
I don't consider myself poor, but I do a few of those things on the list. 05 - If I have the time and skill, I prefer to do repairs things on my own. I like the challenge, the knowledge gained and the satisfaction of getting things done. 08 - I count money so I know how I stand before going out. It's just part of being prepared. 16 - Depends where I am and what crime occurred.
No rich person uses a debit card. Rich people use credit cards poor people use debit cards. CC cards - They build credit when used - Offer perks like cash or airline miles - Some cards allow you in exclusive clubs - Allow you to contest wrongful charges - Let your cash earn some small interest while it is in the bank.
Lol, good point. you can dispute a credit card charge for up to 1 year, with a debit card, the sale is final. Credit card is a safer way to pay always, they credit card company holds the bag, not you.
When rich people dine out, or host a dinner party, do they just waste anything not eaten? Also, are they so accustomed to outsourcing that they don't know how to use a washing machine or boil an egg? I remember watching Arthur as a kid, and that one episode where a rich girl had to stay with a working class family.
I kinda disagree with that "rich use debit & poor use credit" statement. True wealth is measured in credit ownership; a good record. Dividing an expense into smaller payments not only allows for more cash disposal, but it also builds up a credit score only the poor wish they had. Some credit cards give nice rewards for their use and on-time payment avoids interest rates/fees. Only the rich know how, which, and when to use credit. Poor people think it's free money.
I put $20 in my gas tank when I'm driving by the gas station. It has been years since my credit card has been declined. I pay my card weekly. I don't go to the dentist because I can't afford it. I don't go because I'm on blood thinners and visiting the dentist is a hassle...stop my Warfarin, take the antibiotics before and after the dentist, start the warfarin, wait 6 weeks, get my blood tested. A pain. My husband is the best carpenter I know. He can bring buddies to help, but I'm not hiring someone else. The snitch bit sounds like my neighbors. They all sit on their porches and gossip...loudly. We're debating on selling and moving to a neighborhood where people have similar drive. My dog sleeps on our sofa. She's spoiled rotten. Upgrade.
Complete misinformation, rich people use credit cards, poor people use debit cards because it limits their spending and helps to keep them out of debt they can't get out of.
Quinton Garofalo You’re right. I’m not rich but I’m not poor and I prefer to use a credit card because they are safer and provide more consumer protection than a debit card which is linked directly to a bank account. Just pay the entire bill every month and you’ll never pay any interest on a credit card either.
But getting fashionable to people who buy expensive clothes and toys for their children. They pass it on among themselves since the children grow fast, clothes are worn only once or twice.
@Joan In Florida its mostly new money that spends alot on clothing etc. if you go to prep schools or boarding schools you can see where they wear patches (or at least when i was in school, ) high water pants, alot of rich the queen of england has been k now to refashion her clothing often, instead of purchasing new things ..
The music in the background is SO SMOOTH 😎. If you want to change your life and become wealthy you have to change a lot of things. Your mindset, your perspective, your expectations and your standards. Excellent, excellent video as usual. I love the value-added content Alux provides. This channel continues to motivate me with ideas for my channel.
That is 100% true. If you want to be rich you also have to change the habit of stating everything that is wrong or unfair and try to find a solution for the problem. Most people who became rich did it because they provide quality to others and profit from it. Take Google or Aple for example. Mindset makes all the difference in the world.
Hey Alux,I value content such as this, as being born poor and working my way up the money ladder, this is pure gold to me and important to me not to lose the roots of poverty and the journey out of it.Much love from a proud member.
majority of billionaires are coming from poor background, so they know it very well, sometimes more than we do! and even sometimes, they still do it. A reflex they carry on through out life...
I detested this being the oldest and today I voice loudly that children are not responsible for their parents' children. I told my parents this was unfair.
@@sharonsmalls6846 I agree! I had to take care of my younger brother and even though I loved him my mother would get angry at me if I couldn’t get him to put his shoes on for example. At that time, I was a young child also
Poor people NEVER go the extra mile for their children's education, while rich people seek out multiple tutors in order for their children to receive the best education.
Poor people think learning stops after high school/college. It never stops. When you stop, you die. Always push forward to learn more and better yourself! Currently have two rental properties that cash flow me $1100/mo! I talk about my experiences and knowledge on my UA-cam channel. It's all a mindset game!
Pacorro Chisholm It’s ridiculous that dental care is not covered by health insurance. Since when are teeth not part of the body? Every health care professional will tell you that your dental health is linked to your overall health. I understand not covering cosmetic procedures, but general preventive and restorative dental services should be covered by health insurance!
I’ve been on the fence about this. I think it’s a matter of perspective & preference and/or self confidence. In my 40’s I may get tooth covered due to the world we live in, lol..
Ah man, sorry to hear that. Here’s hoping you get free dental care over there soon. A tooth pull is emergency care in the uk so it’s only £20 or free for some people. I felt so lucky when I heard that one.
Some great stuff here. 6. The back charging for ATM use and minimum amounts--This is one of the worst things the poor have to go through. They are told to stop being financially invisible and get your money in the bank and start paying bills through the bank, and it is cheaper than getting a money order made out and things like that. But when they do, they are sailing too close to the wind and dip under their $1500.oo min (Wells Fart-go) or whatever it is, and get charged. What is that saying to poor people, 'Oh you can do this, but you HAVE to have enough.' 10. Having more kids than you can afford--This is a mindset I think. Why the fudge would people have kids way too young and raise them unless they just think they can't do any better?? And I think that comes from just lack of financial education and a lack of desire to try to get it. (Now, OF COURSE this doesn't apply to everyone who had kids young, so don't start sending me flame comments and getting all enraged.) 15. Not calling the cops on a crime---So the term 'dropping a dime' on someone has history to it if you think about it. Before the days of home phone use and cell phones, people had to make calls on public pay phones. After phones got into more homes in the late 40s and early 50s, if you still wanted to report someone to the cops, it was wise to do it from a pay phone so if there was a snitch in the Police Department, and most big city departments were more crooked than a dog's hind legs, he couldn't tell the bad dude it was you who make the call.
I have to disagree with the point rich people use their debit instead of credit cards. Many of the ones I know use them for the “perks” and pay it off at the end of the month.
Other things that are strange for the rich, yet normal, for the poor: IN THE PHILIPPINES: -(For students in a boarding house): washing their clothes/uniforms at least once a week, to keep them clean. Rich kids have multiple clothes & uniforms to choose from. For the poor, uniforms can be expensive, because most uniforms in our country are tailor-made. Most schools don't sell uniforms. They just give you the guide of how the uniforms look & how it should be sewed. The ultra rich kids have a maid or nanny living with them in the boarding house, to do menial tasks such as laundry & preparing meals. -Working a part time job, while in school. Rich parents only want their kids to focus on studying, instead of working for minimum wage. If rich kids need extra money, all they have to do is ask their folks. For extra cash, or an extra amount on their bank account. I'm blessed enough to be born in the upper middle class. 😅 But I do know what life is like, on both sides of the spectrum. Like Alux said, it's complicated. Work hard & keep learning, kids. 💋
Poor people spend on short term things like junk food, instant gratification like flashy phones, consuming entertainment etc whereas Rich people spend on long term things like education, health, and so on. UPGRADE!
Disagree with some: Rich people do use credit, I'm not rich nor poor, but my son got his own room, what year are you in? Walking for 30 min? Even the poor got a car now. Lol I agree about the crime, call the cops when bad things happen.
Born upper upper-middle class but through lack of financial education found myself in less comfortable circumstances, although I am moving up now, thanks to Alux, among others. One thing the rich don't understand : saying no to an invitation because you don't have money to get to the venue. Have a great Sunday and stay safe everyone!
I would like to make a suggestion since this video enlightened me on how disconnected alux team is when comparing rich to middle class and poor citizens. Rules are very different for the rich. In rural small town America corruption runs rampant. The "Big Fish" have special privileges over little fish. I would like to suggest your team divided and experience the big fish scenario and someone else in your team experience the little fish scenario and then report.
For many of these points my family would be in the "rich" area (I guess we are upper middle class), but for 9 it's still normal for me to buy the cheaper stuff, simply because it's not bad here in Germany. Yes, we can definitely buy the pricier things but I don't see the need to buy pasta that costs twice as much when the cheaper ones taste the same and are not lower in quality. (Canned food doesn't taste good mostly, making it yourself is better) Upgrade
Agree. Same here. And I would believe that rich people care about quality and hate to feel ripped off. So if something is branded and expensive but quality is poor, and another is not branded and cheap but quality is amazing, the rich most often than not will go for the unbranded. However, the opposite is true for the poor. They would spend ridiculous amount of money on something as long as it is branded, even if the quality is really poor, because they fear people will look to them as "poor" if they use unbranded stuffs. This is the case with fake rich, or in other words - poor. The true rich can't be bothered about brands - it's all about quality. Go figure.
I’m actually eating canned food at the moment because every fresh fruit or vegetable is sold out in all of the grocery stores around me because of the corona virus outbreak 😷 “Upgrade”
I have access to fresh fruit and vegetables but was contemplating moving to frozen. I'm way too much in the community every few days purchasing them. I'm trying to stay quarantine, but every few days I'm out and about.
I grew up poor. We never bought dog food all the dogs got was left overs and they were never token to the vet. Current situation I now have 3 dogs they all have a really good life and frequent the vet and take monthly heartworm and flea preventative
“I bought a house, it's a two bedroom house, but I think it's up to me to decide how many bedrooms there are. This bedroom has an oven in it. This bedroom has a lot of people sitting around watching TV. This bedroom is over in that other guy's house.” - Mitch Hedburg
Exactly. "Think and Grow Rich" amazing book. It helped me change my mindset, and get into the real estate investing game! Currently have two rental properties that cash flow me $1100/mo! I talk about my experiences and knowledge on my UA-cam channel. It's all a mindset game!
Yes, so instead of having more voices for a person or a cause, The non voting citizen is powerless to change it. The voting citizen is making a difference in having their thoughts heard through the voting booth. The poor complain about the rich, however what is the voting percentage of the poor to have their voices heard. If all the poor people voted, it would be a very different world.
So this isn’t necessarily a “things poor people shouldn’t do” episode, it’s just the differences. I can respect that. The family one sort of struck a chord. It’s something I think about more often the further down (or up) the rabbit whole of wealth I go. I find it important to be always introspective, in order to keep track of your distance from the true important things in life. It’s not easy. When you’re good at something and it’s making you money that combination will consume you. You trade pulling all nighters obsessing over video games getting high scores and leveling up to pulling all nighters in your business, hitting high scores and leveling up. All the while you’re eyeballing your next goal and moving further away from the peace that is sitting on the porch doing nothing. I imagine when you’re poor that’s a pain, but after a few long years in the matrix, it’s good to imagine being back in a simpler place with little kids playing in the house, and grandparents on either side of you in rocking chairs with the smell of, what Alux would probably consider, poor people dinner, because it was made by hand, simmering in the background, with the smell of fresh cut grass, kids riding bikes skooters or skateboards (I’d say pulling wagons but that may be age sensitive) down the street, maybe heading to the basketball court, as you close your eyes and bathe in the warmth of the setting summer sun...that sort of moment is priceless regardless of which car you drove to get here.
I'm from ANDHRA PRADESH and going to MUMBAI to change my life for the better. It's happening only because of u. You've given the strength to me. Thank you ALUX.COM.
Upgrade! I recently gave a supervisor this book by Ruby Payne and charts in it for him to understand what he was seeing and upset in coworkers and how to help/mentor them to change their poverty based cultural behaviors. I also regularly teach it to my students. amzn.to/2xcM8wO Things I notice Poor people do that (I) Rich don't or find confusing. 1. Being in relationships that are unhealthy or dissatisfying because the person is bringing in money for the rent, bills, etc.. As broader pin point the mention of people hanging outside---I was on a date with a guy and he was going on and on about his family sitting out on the stoop on summer evenings. And he was like wasn't it like that for you? I was like no---we had a porch when we moved into a house in a gated community and before that we had terraces on high rise apartments...or we just went places, we never sat outside on the stoop. The one time we did, or a couple of times with my cousins and their family I remember a birthday cake fight outside and then another time one of my cousins was shot and killed up the block. I often have to remind people that yes, I'm Black but I didn't grow up in poverty. That same guy I was dating when we would go out would stand shoulder to shoulder with me when I went to teh ATM, I thought it was odd but then later I noticed other couples doing it---at ATMs, stores, etc ad i realized Poor People act as 1 Hive mind and move as groups in those exchanges. 2. Rarely have time fillers or hobbies. I notice lots of Poor people playing on their phones as a time filler. I go back and forth on trains here in Manhattan and Brooklyn. From home in Manhattan to projects I work on in Brooklyn I literally notice teh appearance and disappearance of books. The more ethnic a neighborhood the less books read on the train. The more integrated Middle Class/Higher and White, the more people have a book on the train, it's like a peeking library to check out what people are reading and people make comments to each other. 3. Being able to write well. I've had poor Bronx office admins complain about my cursive writing--she distinctly called it "chicken scratch" twice---which is funny because I write in cursive 99%of the time and I occasionally wonder if it's illegible to my own eye but I get compliments---even on the train when I'm writing---about my script writing. Further, being about to write an observational report, knowing how to spell words or look up the correct spelling---I notice in jobs I've had outside of education where there's more middle to lower class people horrible syntax, grammar, spelling presented on a professional level (more than typos) and I understand why people aren't promoted.
I believe this would have been more beneficial if you had proofread it. I'm assuming why I had difficulty following some of the thought patterns. I do know that auto-correction transpires during posting. I did not proofread, so, please forgive if there are any errors.
I love your sharing. I've always wondered about people's awful grammar and spellings too. They just don't bother. Now it makes sense: they're usually the ones from poorer backgrounds where being as correct as possible is seen as snotty or a show off. Also, I notice poor people or those raised up poor, tend to use crass words and impolite expressions more often. They also tend to be very envious and judgmental.
#15 about police intervention should DEFINITELY be re-visited considering the current understandings of police brutality in poor/ POC communities. The belief that poor people should contact the police to report crime ignores the reality that marginalized communities do NOT get fair treatment in the (American) legal system and just the act of calling the police could result in innocent people getting murdered by those sworn to serve and protect.
I'm a hoarder and I have two of everything, including 5 cars, 2 houses (which in turn makes me richer because of rents). People always ask me why I need two of everything. I buy things on sale (including houses) and save them until I need them. Cars are a commodity that actually decrease in value however I have cars that I have already bought and will use them when it's time to need them. I buy everything in the perspective of the long run.
Most if not all of the things mentioned apply to me, sadly. I grew up in an unimaginable poverty that I just wish I could just forget every single thing that we had to go thru to survive. Tbh, I cry whenever I remember the old days, so I'm doing my best to move forward. #upgrade
I was expecting a video like "15 Smart Ways to Cash in on Global Pandemic" 5 million view to Alux, Thank me later. Today's motivational video is amazing as always
The strange thing about being poor: 1. I saw my favorite t-shirt on sale on Uniqlo. Two t-shirts for $14, they're Supima Cotton t-shirt that normal sell for $15 each, so what I did was took a bath early that morning, waited for a bus, went to the ATM and deposited $14 into my debit account. Then only to find out on my phone that it sold out. I wasted time, money, and energy. So I walked back to the house instead to not pay for another bus ride. This happened in the suburbs of New Jersey in Bergen county, pretty difficult to get around without a car. I was staying at a relative's home when I immigrated to America. At least now in that I'm in New York City, I can just take the E Train to Fifth Avenue and buy what I want that's on sale.

#15 come on "Snitches get stitches" but you're right Alux Lady. (I always report suspicious activities especially in my new clean neighborhood) But there's also corruption in the upper crust too (who buys politicians?)
In my experience many of these things are actually habits of the poor, such as outsourcing, larger houses, not having a budget, worry about credit scores. I live in the rich neighbourhood but many believe the mansions in the community across the street is where the richest people lives, where in reality those who have the mansions have the most debt. The rich actually typically have smaller houses. The rich typically master different trades, as it helps them in business, but also helps them save tens of thousands to hundreds of thousands of dollars over a life time and gets things done right the first time. Few broke people have ever filed their taxes themselves. While businesses will often outsource accounting, as it can take a week or four to actually crunch the numbers to file, but they will file their own personal income taxes. Rich, don't have to worry about high credit scores because they actually have cash. If rich require a loan, they don't use banks to get that loan and pay off that loan within the year, even for real estate. Rich, set out monthly budgets because they know money management is key to staying rich. There are many broke people who live like what they media tells people rich people live like, but actually have no idea that the one living in the 1,200 square foot house next door with the 10 year old Toyota corolla parked out front, who typically takes the train to work and tends to his own yard, is actually most likely to be the wealthiest person on the block. Alux, I believe you are mistaking rich for people with the highest amount of debt.
Rich ppl used credit cards to boost their credit scores to be able to take out more loans to invest, pay it back, build better credit history, qualify for more loans, wash, rinse, repeat and get richer.
Well I'm from Brooklyn so I could make a list of another 15 things I used to do before my "upgrade" but one of the biggest things I seen poor ppl including myself do was use social media to seek drama and entertainment as opposed to knowledge and innovative ideas
Things poor do 1) in a light fixture the poor will loosen a couple of bulbs. 2) the poor walk around with their crack hanging out. 3) the rich think they are above others, their shit don't stink. 4) if the rich are at a restaurant and spill their drink they act like all innocent and blame the glass or the server. Poor people laugh at the situation & don't push blame.

@LarryWalterson - Yup, and its called 'Co-dependency'!! Great observation ;)
The credit-card thing is oversimplified:
Very rich: use credit cards and pay them off in full, thereby getting a rebate from the credit-card company and sometimes other monetary benefits.
Becoming rich; limited credit or breaking a habit of overspending: use debit cards
Poor: use credit cards and have difficulty paying them off
Very poor: can't get credit cards therefore use debit cards or cash

Brightwriter Graham Stephan approves 😂
I was thinking the same !!!! Then I stopped the video after point 2
I make sure to use my credit card when i need 20 days to pay for what I need. The points I use to pay for my annual dues then donate the rest of my points to the charity of my choice.

Rick people do use credit card. All you have to do is to pay in full and it becomes a great tool.

Quality over quantity!!

One thing that was an exception; I own a kitchenaid mixer that my wife and I have had for 10 years. It was starting to leave a dark grease spot on the counter every we used it.
Thus there were 3 options:
1- Buy a new Kitchenaid mixer at $379 plus tax
2-Send it into Kitchenaid to have the grease taken out, replaced, mailed back in about 1 month+ and spend around $125+ for the maintenance and then around $30 for shipping: so; $155
3- $9.99 and 15 minutes of my time - Unscrew 7 screws, pull top off, scoop off grease, put new grease in, close lid. Complete
Even at $250,000 per year or around $120 per hour, it still was a smart economical decision to do that myself.

- They build credit when used
- Offer perks like cash or airline miles
- Some cards allow you in exclusive clubs
- Allow you to contest wrongful charges
- Let your cash earn some small interest while it is in the bank.

Currently have two rental properties that cash flow me $1100/mo! I talk about my experiences and knowledge on my UA-cam channel. It's all a mindset game!
The Bad Tooth Part Got me :P I literally have a bad tooth right now and i am not getting it fixed cause i literally don't have enough money :( FML
I hear you. I’ve put teeth on hold a few times in my life due to cheap companies that offer minimal health insurance and no dental.
Better come to India, cost of dental care is affordable than yours that too in world class facilities which your countries insurance might not cover.
Other things that are strange for the rich, yet normal, for the poor:
IN THE PHILIPPINES:
-(For students in a boarding house): washing their clothes/uniforms at least once a week, to keep them clean.
glad I grew up poor, helped me learn alot
It teaches you to appreciate what you have in life and most importantly how to TREAT people.
caro james and also teaches one to be creative with the limited resources that one has.
Having dogs sleep outside is abusive and those who can't protect the animals from extreme cold or extreme heat shouldn't be allowed to have pets.
Lol
I agree about the crime, call the cops when bad things happen.

9:37 - “Indian and Mexican audience would know this too well” - *THAT’S SOME RACIST SHIT!!!*
The disconnect was beyond glaring. Thank you for this comment.
(Canned food doesn't taste good mostly, making it yourself is better)
Upgrade
Agree.
Go figure.
I’m actually eating canned food at the moment because every fresh fruit or vegetable is sold out in all of the grocery stores around me because of the corona virus outbreak 😷

Hope the situation is gonna be better soon!!!
I have access to fresh fruit and vegetables but was contemplating moving to frozen. I'm way too much in the community every few days purchasing them. I'm trying to stay quarantine, but every few days I'm out and about.
Just be greatful you were lucky enough to get food - considering what we are up against.
caro james don’t get me wrong, I am but it’s just a surreal situation for everyone.
Poor people stay in bad relationships just to be loved Rich people find the right partner
I grew up poor. We never bought dog food all the dogs got was left overs and they were never token to the vet. Current situation I now have 3 dogs they all have a really good life and frequent the vet and take monthly heartworm and flea preventative
That's definitely a valid point

“I bought a house, it's a two bedroom house, but I think it's up to me to decide how many bedrooms there are. This bedroom has an oven in it. This bedroom has a lot of people sitting around watching TV. This bedroom is over in that other guy's house.” - Mitch Hedburg
Everything starts from brain. So change your mindset if want to become rich.
Exactly. "Think and Grow Rich" amazing book. It helped me change my mindset, and get into the real estate investing game! Currently have two rental properties that cash flow me $1100/mo! I talk about my experiences and knowledge on my UA-cam channel. It's all a mindset game!
“A single person not voting, doubles the power of someone who does.” Could someone please elaborate this?

Things I notice Poor people do that (I) Rich don't or find confusing.
I didn't realize how Blessed I am! 🙌🏼
Graham Stephan would disagree about using debit cards instead of credit cards.
Having housekeeping staff around the house, people like a cleaning lady, cook, Butler, driver etc.
hoarding medicine, food, fuel, and other essential commodities are normal for rich and strange for poor people
Luckily for me its normal. A lot of things are just forward thinking.
Would you say parents hitting and kicking their children would be strange for the rich. It's strange for me.
Most if not all of the things mentioned apply to me, sadly. I grew up in an unimaginable poverty that I just wish I could just forget every single thing that we had to go thru to survive. Tbh, I cry whenever I remember the old days, so I'm doing my best to move forward. #upgrade

The strange thing about being poor:
Alux.com: I agreed with everything you said up until you talked about being a snitch. It's not that people don't wanna talk to the police no one is try being found out.
Would you or any member of your staff go to the police after witnessing a crime that was committed by the Russian mafia or the gangster disciples?
Upgrade on #9 getting creative... Spaghetti in our house was about 3-4 pounds of pasta, 2 cans tomato paste, equal parts water a Shillings flavor packet and about 1 pound of hamburger. If you wanted protein in your meal, you hoped the pot was sitting closest to you.
It wasn't until after getting educated in the Navy and becoming an electronic engineer, I found out what Spaghetti was supposed to be like at a nice Italian restaurant. I also learned that squash doesn't need to be cooked into a goo that runs all over your plate!
9. "Indian and Mexican members of our audience will know this all too well." Well, I am neither and I find this statement super offensive.
U black? Lmao hey I'm Mexican man, and to be brutally honest most indians, Mexicans, and African Americans have been in this situation. A majority of them. Sad truth is a lot of races are uneducated and that's just a truth if we were more understanding of the fact that it's all about a persons character and brain than the color of their skin we wouldn't be getting offended over race but over weak and strong minded individuals...independent of color most whites got it made... That's not saying being white is = to success but they managed to educate their own race and get ahead. Us minorities need to wake the fuck up and do the same for the people of our own race
○Buying a few cigarettes alone, instead of a full pack
○Buying on tab from your local store and paying when your check comes in next month.
We call it "the credit card of the past", but it didn't have any interest added ;)
○Paying utility bills only when they're about to cut you off
○If the car moves, who cares about that noise it keeps making?! Turn the music up & you're all good baby 😆
○Taking her on a date in the park
○Not feeling ok to go out for lunch when your co-workers go to that "new place they've heard is great"
○Only answering calls from numbers you know, because someone else could be a creditor
○Not going to events you know people who you owe money to will attend
○You've got money = you eat
You don't have money = youre not hungry 🤐
○When everything you want as a kid will happen when mommy's next paycheck will be coming
○When you "inherit" all your clothes from your older siblings
○When vacation time means you're going to grandma's and not the seaside sipping juice boxes
○Buying second-hand articles
You took me way back!
I love that I experienced all this and am sure that it all got me to where I am today, being able to joke about it and laught at what, how, whom I used to be 🤣
#15 come on "Snitches get stitches" but you're right Alux Lady.
Face hard truth WITHOUT emotion! UPGRADE
Rich ppl used credit cards to boost their credit scores to be able to take out more loans to invest, pay it back, build better credit history, qualify for more loans, wash, rinse, repeat and get richer.

Would love to see a video on what rich people are doing during this corona crisis
Well I'm from Brooklyn so I could make a list of another 15 things I used to do before my "upgrade" but one of the biggest things I seen poor ppl including myself do was use social media to seek drama and entertainment as opposed to knowledge and innovative ideas
Things poor do
1) in a light fixture the poor will loosen a couple of bulbs.
2) the poor walk around with their crack hanging out.
3) the rich think they are above others, their shit don't stink.
4) if the rich are at a restaurant and spill their drink they act like all innocent and blame the glass or the server. Poor people laugh at the situation & don't push blame.
Crash to a relative house in other city for 2 weeks with the whole family and call it "vacations" 🙂 . Pass good clothing to younger brothers. Buy used clothing. Request "donations " for your wedding. UPGRADE
