Can you double confirm the length of the cable? In the video you mentioned it is 4 and 1/2 feet. It does not look like so. Thanks.
This is not good with Mac OS X due to stock firmware. Dell expects the speaker to be updated with latest firmware before using with Mac OS and the only way update firmware is a through windows PC. Even if you manage to get windows PC, Dell firmware update app doesn't work and it gets stuck at connect the laptop to power. This product is useless & frustrating for Mac users.
What if my Laptop AC adapter is USB-C then if I connect the speaker, how do I charge the Laptop?

No you can buy an adapter to convert a regular USB to Type C
